Haw haw haw. That's your affirmative action right there. The artist got the commission because he was black, not because he was good.

The hands are wrong, as a matter of fact, the whole damn picture is wrong. He looks stoopid, actually Obama looks like he's at a loss for words. LOL!

    Very strange picture.

I thought the "official" White house portrait was done while they are in office?

If so, I wonder where this will hang...

Well, at least the artist captured Obama's likeness... unlike the one of "her".

OMG! There are two items missing from the anointed ones pix, a copy of last months Hollywood gossip rag in one hand and a roll of TP in the other.

His facial expression is one you have when you dont know whether to sxxt or get off the pot!

..and WTF is up with the hedgerow he's fading into?

Dont even get me started on the Mooch pix...

He looks like he's taking a dump.

i dont think either one is flattering . barry is sitting in some bushes or poison ivy with a odd look on his face and michelle is lost in a bland canvas wearing a big white dress with some black trim. to me it looks like the painting is about the painting and not about them.
    you dont see THEM.

so no, i dont think they are very good portraits. art is not always great because it is 'art'. some art, painters, sculptors, etc are just crappy. remember the crucifix upside down in a jar of urine and THAT was called 'art' too. so why do we have to applaud or pretend something is well done when it is not? that is juts more PC feel good BS. heck even obama didnt seem impressed by it. kind of embarrassing yet everyone applauds and preens and pretends how great it all is.

the portraits just look too phony, cartoonish. perhaps they paintings truly did capture the real obamas after awll?

    This is a joke, right?

Yep, both pieces are awful, and he really does look like he's sitting on the john. I think jazzy's onto something though --- does anybody else notice how blank both expressions are? Anyone else look at both painting's eyes and see nothing -- no fire, no spark of humanity really, and no "there" there? It's like they're still art images of things rather than people! So perhaps the artists really did somehow capture the true essence of them both -- soulless empty shells!

I like hers. The Barrack one is distracting. Is he lost among the Bushes or just in the weeds?

Why did they make two of him. One normal and one with long hair and a dress? Also why is he white in one?

Kehinde Willey, the Obama's "portrait artist" likes to paint white people with their heads chopped off.

As if there was any doubt Obama was a violent, racist, anti-American bigot... #obamaportrait

Thank you. I was just reading about this on Free Republic, and folks need to know... There is a reason the Obama reign felt so bad, it's because they were indeed so bad... It wasn't just white rednecks butthurt because they didn't get what they wanted. The Obamas are evil. They endorse evil things.

Holy tomales. Can't believe it. Saw that Obama in green on twitter at a humorist's tweet and thought it was his joke. Came here to see what the real one looked like.

    Same portrait.
