So, vK, is this chart telling us that only parts of the world have Grand Solar Minima?
Where did I read that recently?
No, this chart attempts to give detailed information only for Europa. This doesn't mean that the rest of the world wasn't affected. That's why I put a "test post" below the image.
The reason I posted this chart [selected at random, just as an example] was to see the different versions of it at the original TB2000 forum, the new TB2000 forum, and at my forum.
The new TB2000 forum does a better job of rendering images, but not quite as good as my forum. Since I include many images, photos, and charts at my forum this feature is important to me.

Breaking – Official US Govt Data shows accelerating temperature decline since 2016
December 6, 2019 by Robert
This shocking news (but not-so-shocking to me) comes from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
This graph from NOAA pretty much tells the story. Temperatures have not only declined, the rate of decline appears to be accelerating.
The link below contains the interactive version of this graph.

Found the below article off Ice Age Farmer's twitter feed (thanks, Martinhouse!):
https://agroinsurance.com/en/uk-carr...le-production/
UK - Carrot shortage as floods and cold weather cripple production
More than half of the UK’s carrot-growing areas have been affected by the recent flooding, which continues to prevent producers from being able to put straw down to protect the crop from frost damage.
As the weather turns colder, the British Carrot Growers Association (BCGA) is warning that more wet weather and frost could “wipe out large amounts of the UK’s carrot harvest”.
Commercial carrot growers across the North of England and the Midlands including Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, Shropshire and Lancashire, have all been affected.
BCGA spokeswoman Coral Russell said: “The flooding has caught a lot of growers out. It has stopped them spreading straw as they usually do at this time of year.
“More than 50% of the carrot-growing area in the UK has been affected. The only exception being those grown in East Anglia and Scotland.
“If we have a frost now or more wet weather then all the carrots that are not covered with straw will get damaged and be unsuited for the market. They’ll be rotten.”
Nottinghamshire carrot grower Mark Strawson added: “Since mid-September unprecedented levels of rainfall have made field operation extremely difficult with very few entirely dry days recorded over an eight-week period.
“This protracted wet period has not allowed growers to cover crops with straw which is vital to protect them from frost over the winter."
With such a small area protected to date and field conditions remaining poor there is a very high risk of crop loss should the weather now turn cold. Such a situation would severely disrupt supplies to retail customers.”
Carrots are one of the nation’s favourite vegetable, with 75% of Britons saying they regularly eat carrots and more than 10 billion carrots eaten every year. British-grown carrots are available all-year-round, with 93% of the ones consumed in the UK currently grown here.

All, if you haven't listened to the Deep South Homestead podcast above in #7012, I strongly recommend doing so.
This is the best podcast I think he's ever done. And the most disturbing, IMHO.
I'm literally working up my seed potato order as I'm listening, and I keep making it larger. Seed order is next.
Please don't wait too long to get your seed orders in if you plan on planting a garden.
TxGal, thanks for all the links. Now my morning is gone and it looks like it might be warm enough outside for me to do a few things.
Haven't heard from my helper guy. If he doesn't show up today, I'll start trying to chip away at the chores myself. My sister said she'd help me as she could find time. She has offered to move all the leaves into the chicken pen and I think this would be a good opportunity for me to go up the ladder while someone is here, to get the roof chores done. We will be discussing it all in an hour or two if the guy doesn't show up by one PM.
-------
Edit:
I can't order seeds until I get some catalogs. I pretty much have what I need, except for the fact that I gave away the packs I'd gotten last year for mangel beets. I gave them to the lady who said they'd definitely be back after peach season to finish mixing and putting the new soil in my outdoor containers. I'm not ready to totally condemn her and her family yet, as I have to tell myself something awful could have happened to them, like she or her husband maybe died or became ill or injured in some serious way, or even suffered the lose of a child or grandchild. That could change anyone's plans and promises in a big way.
Maybe I'll find out what happened some day. If anything did happen. If nothing happened, I'm out two precious books and a huge (for me) amount of money's worth of above-ground gardening supplies, plus chickens, rabbits and lots of food for them.
I guess my reward for trusting others so whole heartedly has to be knowing that I would never do such a thing to someone else. I would rather trust too much and get stung, than let down someone who trusted me too much.
You're welcome. Darn, I wonder what's going on with him....he was so dedicated for a while, I hope it's nothing serious and that he does plan on coming back.
Maybe your sister can go up the ladder instead? It will be great to have all those leaves where they do the most good :-)
You are correct. The problem lies in the climate change religionists telling the gullible that there is no change when there clearly is. It is another Great Cycle and something those playing gawd cannot change. So they try to change people's minds instead. And if they cannot, they will resort to force to get it done.

I just listened to the Deep South Homestead podcast about 2020 and then a shorter one about their greenhouse.
Lots of interesting things on both Deep South Homestead podcasts. One problem I noticed on the first one is that he used the word morality not only for it's actual definition, but also used it when he meant morale. I think this could confuse some listeners.
I do recommend that everyone listen to both of these podcasts. The second one is under ten minutes. In it he mentions the sun being in a different location now, and also the pollen buildup on his greenhouse panels, which I may have mentioned here on the GSM thread recently. Their greenhouse tomatoes are really gorgeous and I hope they are prepared to treat for whitefly in a big hurry if they should suddenly become infested with them.
TxGal, my sister cannot go up on the roof. She is incapable of climbing a ladder past maybe her own height or of being on her roof. While I do get a little dizzy at the edge of a roof, I don't have the height problem she does and am fine up there. My problem is being so week in the legs or them suddenly getting shaky or just losing their strength while I'm halfway up the ladder. I always put the ladder in a corner so I can step on and off of it to one side, and I even tie the ladder somewhat so it can't fall over, if there is something to tie it to.
Sis told me that her last time up, many years ago, she was on her roof doing something and she was afraid to get back on the ladder to get down. She sat up there for hours, hoping someone would come by to help, but no one ever did and when it started getting dark out she was forced to do it herself and she's never gone up a ladder again.
So sorry to hear that. Nothing is ever simple, it seems. I don't much care for ladders, either...it would be nice if the ground was perfectly flat and ladders didn't shake.
I just placed both my potato and veg seed orders. I'm still buying seed potatoes from our feed store when they're in later. And I know I'll buy more vegetable seeds when they're in the stores, too.
I literally have floor to ceiling canning jars in various sizes in our spare room. I think I'll be picking up fresh lids, though, just to be safe. We have Tattlers, too, but haven't used them. If my garden cooperates, this year I'm canning beets, carrots, green beans, turnips, rutabaga, potatoes, and turnips. Freezers are full of beef, and we have a fair amount of chicken and turkeys (bought just the breasts at Thanksgiving). We always keep a load of canning jars on hand in case we have a freezer failure (and we have a propane camping stove, just in case).
We'll have to see how the winter plays out. My gut feeling is telling me that we're moving faster and deeper into the GSM. I pray that I am wrong.
TxGal, what kind of canning lids do you buy? We here do not buy Kerr and Ball any more as they have that short lifespan now. We get Golden Harvest brand and hope that they don't have the same short time that the seals are supposed to last.
I have wondered if there really was no change in the composition of the seal but that the company just decided to put a disclaimer on the boxes to protect themselves from litigation?
-----
Sister is on her way down to help me with leaves and getting up onto the roof. Sure will be nice to have all those piles of leaves stowed where they belong!
Well that's interesting, in kind of a worrisome way. I've used both Ball and Kerr and haven't had a problem (yet). I can remember stories about Golden Harvest jars exploding in the pressure canner some years back.
Let us know how it goes outside today!
Sister just left. She watched me up the ladder and I swept off the back of the roof and cleaned all the crap out of the gutters. While I did that, she bagged up the leaves that were already in piles. Then she hauled the bags back near the chicken pen and and we covered them with a big blue/silver tarp. While on the roof I found a corner of the cover up there that was splitting and did some mending with Gorilla tape. Don't know how well that will stay, but I didn't have time or inclination to patch and tar anything today.
We will need another row of concrete blocks where I divided the chicken pen inside to keep the feeding area clean, then this new batch of leaves can be added to what the chickens already have in there. There are fifteen leaf bags, some very full and some not.
I wanted to pay her what I would have paid the helper, but she absolutely refused. If he comes tomorrow he can add blocks to the divider wall and empty all those leave bags. If he does not, I may do it myself a little at a time. And I may end up plugging the rest of the holes in the top of the pen...there really aren't too many holes left, but I'd like the job to be finished up.
My sidewalks are all cleaned up now and it looks so much nicer out there!
It was warm enough outside when I was on the roof in the sun...I love being up there... but it got mighty chilly when I was back down and sitting in the shade of the house.
I've never had any problem with Golden Harvest jars except that I can only fit five of them in the canner that's made for seven regular pint jars. And the glass they are made of is still thicker than the other brands. The newer Ball and Kerr jars are like eggshells by comparison.
Time for me to eat something substantial. All I want is a big bowl of instant potatoes, so I suppose I'll need to force myself to do better than that.
Oops! Just remembered that I need to bait the live trap by the chicken pen door. I switched traps and set it and just have to toss an egg to the back end of it.
Wow, you did great!
I'll just be watching all my lids and jars more than ever. I'd hate to think of losing anything after all the prep that goes into the process.
Funny, I'm having instant potatoes with leftover turkey gravy and a bit of biscuit. I did have half an avocado earlier. Have a quiche in the oven now.
Oh, almost forgot! Right after I placed my Baker Creek order, the catalog came in the mail. Pinetree Gardens should be around soon to our place and yours :-)
I don't collect my mail very often, so if you would, could you let me know when you get your Pinetree catalog?
Thanks. Hope they get delivered soon!
Had a big bowl of mashed potatoes with salt and loads of butter. Now I'm sleepy, but I'm not tired.
I think there's been a raccoon around. There were signs (I think) in the area they built the nest last year after they killed all the chickens, and a bunch of things have been knocked down in the front porch again and I don't think the cat did it. I'll need help to get it picked back up so it might have to stay as it is for a while.
Seems like a raccoon would have torn up the plastic on my chicken pen door a lot worse than it was torn, but now I'm thinking it may have been one. This one might have to go to raccoon heaven as I don't know where they are coming from so wouldn't know where to return it to its home.
I just hate raccoons! How can something so beautiful be so horrible. They sure would be easier to deal with if they were stupid. Aaack!
