PALESTINIANS: THREE DAYS OF RAGE OVER TRUMP'S DECISION ON JERUSALEM
    BY YASSER OKBI/MAARIV DECEMBER 5, 2017 19:03

In a joint statement, the Palestinian "national and Islamic forces" announced three days of rage that would begin tomorrow and end on Friday.

The Palestinian factions announced three days of rage from Wednesday to Friday in protest of US President Donald Trump's announcement to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to transfer the American embassy from Tel Aviv.

The Palestinian factions called President Trump's policy "political blackmail, which would destroy his ability to achieve regional or colonialist achievements in the region."

In a joint statement, the Palestinian "national and Islamic forces" announced three days of rage that would begin Wednesday and end on Friday. "We call on all our people in Israel and around the world to gather in city centers and Israeli embassies and consulates, with the aim of bringing about general popular anger," the statement said.

The statement added that "a huge protest should be launched in order to reject out of hand the attempts of the US administration to transfer the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem or recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel. The right of the people and the nation to act in all legal and diplomatic ways within the international community, the international law in the Hague, in order to torpedo this attempt," the statement said, calling for an emergency meeting of the leaders of the Islamic countries and the Jerusalem Committee to emphasize their rejection of the American moves in Jerusalem.

"President Abbas warned of the danger of President Trump's decision on the peace, security and stability process in the region and in the world," spokesman Nabil Abu Rudaina said.

According to Ruadina, Abbas "reiterated our firm position that there is no Palestinian state without East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with the decisions of the international community and the Arab peace initiative."

"President Abbas will continue his contacts with world leaders to prevent this unacceptable step," added Rudaina.

The Jordanians also announced that King Abdullah had been briefed by Trump on the issue of Jerusalem. King Abdullah said in response that "Jerusalem is the key to achieving peace of stability in the region and in the entire world."

The official Jordanian news agency, Petra, noted that King Abdullah warned Trump of the danger in such a step that he was out of reach for a comprehensive solution to the establishment of a Palestinian state and the capital of East Jerusalem.

"Such a decision would be dangerous to the security and stability of the Middle East, and would lead to the collapse of American efforts for peace, and would also lead to strong reactions among Muslims and Christians," Abdullah said. According to the Jordanian news agency, the king discussed the issue with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and stressed Jordan's full support for the Palestinians' protection of their rights in Jerusalem, including a united action against Trump's decision to undermine the hopes of the Palestinians for the establishment of a state and its capital in East Jerusalem.

Morocco's King Mohammed VI sent a letter to President Trump, stressing that "Jerusalem must be a city of coexistence." "The transfer of the American embassy to Jerusalem will affect the fair settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict," he said.

Gee... Who could have predicted such a response?

"The Islamic Resistance Movement is a distinguished Palestinian movement, whose allegiance is to Allah, and whose way of life is Islam. It strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine, for under the wing of Islam followers of all religions can coexist in security and safety where their lives, possessions and rights are concerned. In the absence of Islam, strife will be rife, oppression spreads, evil prevails and schisms and wars will break out.

Allah is its target, the Prophet is its model, the Koran its constitution: Jihad is its path and death for the sake of Allah is the loftiest of its wishes.

The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. Neither a single Arab country nor all Arab countries, neither any king or president, nor all the kings and presidents, neither any organization nor all of them, be they Palestinian or Arab, possess the right to do that. Palestine is an Islamic Waqf land consecrated for Moslem generations until Judgement Day. This being so, who could claim to have the right to represent Moslem generations till Judgement Day?

Initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences, are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement. Abusing any part of Palestine is abuse directed against part of religion. Nationalism of the Islamic Resistance Movement is part of its religion. Its members have been fed on that. For the sake of hoisting the banner of Allah over their homeland they fight. "Allah will be prominent, but most people do not know."

Now and then the call goes out for the convening of an international conference to look for ways of solving the (Palestinian) question. Some accept, others reject the idea, for this or other reason, with one stipulation or more for consent to convening the conference and participating in it. Knowing the parties constituting the conference, their past and present attitudes towards Moslem problems, the Islamic Resistance Movement does not consider these conferences capable of realising the demands, restoring the rights or doing justice to the oppressed. These conferences are only ways of setting the infidels in the land of the Moslems as arbitraters. When did the infidels do justice to the believers?

"But the Jews will not be pleased with thee, neither the Christians, until thou follow their religion; say, The direction of Allah is the true direction. And verily if thou follow their desires, after the knowledge which hath been given thee, thou shalt find no patron or protector against Allah." (The Cow - verse 120).

There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors. The Palestinian people know better than to consent to having their future, rights and fate toyed with.

Well, go ahead and start it then. You Philistines are nothing but trouble, anyway. Like your young woman who tried to blow up the pediatrics ward in the Israeli hospital, where she was being treated.

Pope urges status quo, 'wisdom and prudence' for Jerusalem

    By Nicole Winfield, Associated Press
VATICAN CITY December 6, 2017, 5:53 AM ET

Pope Francis called on Wednesday for the status quo of Jerusalem to be respected and for "wisdom and prudence" to prevail to avoid further conflict, hours before the expected announcement that the United States is recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Francis made the appeal during his weekly audience, after speaking with the Palestinian leader
and soon after meeting with a delegation of Palestinian religious and intellectual representatives in a previously scheduled audience.

Francis said he was "profoundly concerned" about recent developments concerning Jerusalem, and declared the city a unique and sacred place for Christians, Jews and Muslims that has a "special vocation for peace."

He appealed "that eveyrone respects the status quo of the city," according to U.N. resolutions.

"I pray to the Lord that its identity is preserved and strengthened for the benefit of the Holy Land, the Middle East and the whole world and that wisdom and prudence prevail to prevent new elements of tension from being added to a global context already convulsed by so many cruel conflicts," he said.

The Vatican has long sought an internationally guaranteed status for Jerusalem that safeguards its sacred character for Jews, Muslims and Christians.

Francis spoke by telephone on Tuesday with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, after President Donald Trump told Abbas of his decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital. The Vatican said the call with Francis was made at Abbas' initiative.

Early Wednesday, Francis met with a delegation of Palestinian religious and intellectual leaders who were at the Vatican for a previously scheduled meeting with the Vatican's interreligious dialogue office. The Vatican and the Palestinians plan to create a permanent working group on interfaith issues.

In his comments to the group, Francis expressed his hope for "peace and prosperity" for the Palestinian people and called for dialogue that respects the rights of everyone in the Holy Land.

"The primary condition of that dialogue is reciprocal respect and a commitment to strengthening that respect, for the sake of recognizing the rights of all people, wherever they happen to be," he said.

Francis visited the Holy Land in 2014 and later hosted Abbas and the then-Israeli president, Shimon Peres, for an interreligious peace prayer in the Vatican gardens. Renewed conflict broke out in the Gaza Strip soon thereafter.

The Holy See recognized the Palestinian state in 2015.

Erdogan Says He'd Cut Israel Ties If Trump Acts on Jerusalem

    By Benjamin Harvey
    Bloomberg
    ‎December‎ ‎5‎, ‎2017‎ ‎5‎:‎39‎ ‎AM Updated on ‎December‎ ‎5‎, ‎2017‎ ‎10‎:‎48‎ ‎AM

    · Turkish president says Jerusalem is a ‘red line’ for Muslims
    · President Trump to call Abbas, Netanyahu to discuss the issue

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened to cut ties with Israel if U.S. President Donald Trump recognizes Jerusalem as its capital, portending the backlash the move could cause in Muslim-majority nations.

“Mr. Trump, Jerusalem is a red line for Muslims,” Erdogan said in a speech at parliament in Ankara on Tuesday. “This could lead us to break off our diplomatic relations with Israel.”

Trump had been expected to signal his intention Monday, when he was due to decide whether to renew his signature on a waiver to keep the U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv. But no action was made public, and a White House spokesman said an announcement would be made in coming days. The decision is fraught with religious and political implications with Jerusalem, home to some of the holiest ancient sites in Judaism, Christianity and Islam, also claimed by Palestinians as the capital of a future state.

Relations between Turkey and Israel, whose alliance was once a bulwark of the U.S.’s Middle East security posture, have deteriorated as Erdogan moved to redefine his country as a Muslim power and became a fierce critic of Israeli policies in the region. The two countries broke off ties after 2010, when Israeli soldiers raided a Turkish ship trying to break the embargo on the Gaza Strip. Nine Turks were killed on board and a 10th died later. The countries reestablished formal diplomatic relations last year.

“Israel must advance its goals, including the recognition of a united Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel,” Israel’s Education Minister Naftali Bennett said in a statement. “At the end of the day, it is better to have a united Jerusalem than Erdogan’s sympathy.”

Other signs of displeasure with Trump’s reported intentions came from Saudi Arabia and France.

The Saudis on Tuesday called the expected move “unjustified” U.S. bias that disrupts efforts to revive peace talks, and cautioned it could have “grave consequences.”

French President Emmanuel Macron told Trump on Monday that the prospect of a unilateral declaration concerned him, and said the city’s status must be resolved through peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.

Trump phoned Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday, a day before the expected announcement. Calls also were scheduled with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Jordanian King Abdullah, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said.

Trump told Abbas of his intention to move the embassy, and Abbas said he would seek to mobilize world leaders against it, the official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported, citing presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina. EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, appearing Tuesday at a news conference with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, said the status of the city must be negotiated between Israel and the Palestinians.

Abbas’s Fatah party has called for demonstrations across the West Bank and Arab world if Trump recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

This has got to be one of the gutsiest moves by Trump so far. He's gonna get a middle east war going quickly now. How's that peace been working out the past 10, 20, 100 years? Not so good.

US embassies beefing up security in Middle East ahead of Trump's expected announcement on Jerusalem

    By Luis Martinez ABC News
    December 6, 2017, 6:41 AM ET

Several teams of U.S. Marines will reinforce security at some American embassies in the Middle East, according to U.S. officials, in advance of President Donald Trumps expected announcement that the U.S. embassy in Israel is moving to Jerusalem

The U.S. military has made prudent precautionary planning in the Mideast region if violence flares up following Trump's expected announcement, according to several U.S. officials.

Trump is expected to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel on Wednesday and initiate the process of relocating the U.S. embassy to the city from Tel Aviv, two U.S. officials and a source close to the White House confirmed to ABC News Tuesday

U.S. officials said planning has been underway to send several Marine Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Teams (FAST) to some American embassies in the region to reinforce their security postures in anticipation of the expected announcement.

"Due to operational security I won't get into specifics, but the Department of Defense takes necessary steps to mitigate threats to U.S. personnel and interests around the world," said Lt. Colonel Mike Andrews, a Defense Department spokesman.

"In addition, [the Department of Defense] continually works closely with State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic Security to protect U.S. interests at all embassies and consulates," he added.

The FAST teams consist of a platoon of about 40 Marines specially trained to assist with providing extra security at U.S. embassies. They are available on short notice to help other Marines providing security at U.S. embassies worldwide.

On Tuesday, the U.S. embassy in Israel warned American diplomats and their families that "until further notice" they were not to conduct personal travel in Jerusalem's Old City and the West Bank.

"United States citizens should avoid areas where crowds have gathered and where there is increased police and/or military presence," read a security message posted Tuesday on the embassy's website.

Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlt avusoglu, who was meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Wednesday, warned the United States against making the decision. He also said he had told Tillerson personally it was a dangerous move.

"It would be a grave mistake," avusoglu told U.S. reporters while waiting for a photo op with Tillerson. "It would not bring any stability, peace, but rather chaos and instability."

ABC News' Conor Finnegan contributed to this report

THREE DAYS OF RAGE OVER TRUMP'S DECISION ON JERUSALEM

    Only three days? Slackers!!

You watch, Trump is going to get a lot of heat over this from both sides of the aisle over his decision. And yet, the Senate reaffirmed the decision to move the embassy six months ago.
What is the lake of fire? What is it's purpose? Is the lake of fire eternal hell? Is there any hope of escape for those cast into this lake?

Wife's family in Israel just called and were so happy they were practically crying.

Fox is now showing a picture of the old Jerusalem walls lit up with both an American and an Israeli flag.

It was announced the VP Pence will shortly be leaving for Israel to get things going and to answer questions.

I think this is also a message to the Little Fat Turd in NK. President Trump is not afraid to make the hard decisions and will not just be passing on problems to the next administration. I don't think the world can get more "interesting." That said, I know that it probably will.

I was SO HAPPY and PROUD to hear what he had to say!!

All of those who will be and/or are against this would be extremely upset if other countries did not acknowledge and/or would work with our country's capital!! They would also be extremely upset if another country came in and told us that our capital should be of THEIR choosing, not OURS. This is no different!! Israel was proclaimed by the WORLD to be a country and THEY decided where their capital would be. No other country should have a say!!!
