We lived with this same thing all summer long. Been through the evacuation alerts, saw the shooting flames from our deck and bathroom window. Knowing friends who have lost their homes, friends with relatives who lost their homes. Most got out with the shirt on their back and that's it. The arsonists have the upper hand. One was started on an illegal pot farm, the other a homeless man was careless with his campfire. The homeless guy is free because he doesn't have a pot to piss in. He wanted to stay in jail where he had 3 hots and a cot, but the police released him - no room in jail. It's not just California that gets scorched, just so happens it's in the news because of the wealth that's being destroyed. The have nots getting even with the haves. JMHO.

Well, unless your tinfoil is REALLY too tight (or too small a gauge!), you'd probably want to go with "normal weather".

But then, we've never really seen any proof that we can create tornadoes, or steer hurricanes, or any of the other current "weather woo"...

But it's obviously true that all it takes is one scumbag with a lighter, and a weather forecast, to create true havoc in a state with tinder-dry vegetation and complete fire suppression as a policy. When you add in the fact that the jihadis emphasized in their Hate-zine how to burn out the infidel, and strongly encouraged that action... well, I think that when fires start out of nowhere (as these did- no reports of lightning, or downed power lines or any of the other causes the last firestorm was blamed on), it's very reasonable to suspect that there might be a deliberate attack going on.

Or it could be something as stupid as some moron dragging safety chains on his trailer connection, setting off sparks for 30 miles of road...

I don't wish ill on people's home to burn down, but when they're a piece of work like Chelsea Handler, the hate is going to come back to her. Dark times for you!

And Handler tackled the fires with her usual wry humor, writing: 'Just evacuated my house. It's like Donald Trump is setting the world on fire. Literally and figuratively. Stay safe everyone. Dark times.'
'Never thought I'd get to actually play "what would you grab if there were a fire?"': Chrissy Teigen, Jennifer Garner and Chelsea Handler are among celebrities fleeing their homes in LA's exclusive suburbs as blazes rage across California

Three fires that scorched California were joined by a fourth late Tuesday and a fifth early Wednesday
The growing fire threatens several A-listers' mansions, including those of Paris Hilton, Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Garner, Maria Shriver and Heidi Klum
Chrissy Teigen and her daughter Luna were forced to leave their home, while Ariana Grande alerted fans she had her pets pups had fled the fire
Paris Hilton said her pets were being taken to safety, while Chelsea Handler, who had just evacuated her house, quipped: 'It's like Donald Trump is setting the world on fire. Literally and figuratively'
The fourth fire began near San Bernardino, and the fifth was found along the I-405 along Sepulveda Pass
That fifth fire burned up more than 50 acres near LA's Bel Air neighborhood and the Getty Arts Center
Several houses caught fire in Bel Air, which has now been evacuated, and the I-405 is closed to traffic
The largest blaze, the Thomas Fire, is now four times the size of Manhattan, firefighters say
HBO temporarily halted production on Westworld, which films in the area, citing safety fears
Fires also and surrounded Johnny Cash's former home in Casitas Springs; it's not yet known if it was destroyed

The homes of celebrities including Chrissy Teigen, Paris Hilton and Chelsea Handler, as well as a vineyard belonging to Rupert Murdoch, have been evacuated as LA firefighters struggle to put out fires that are ripping through the Los Angeles area.

Four Southern California wildfires were joined by a fifth outside Los Angeles's exclusive Bel Air neighborhood - where at least six properties have been destroyed - on Wednesday, as high winds spurred on the flames.

One well-to-do resident was seen having a fireman load up her Bentley as she prepared to flee the neighborhood - where homes cost an average of $3.3million - while firefighters tackled the fearsome blaze.

The growing fire was nearing several A-listers' mansions including homes belonging to Teigen, Hilton, Handler, Jennifer Garner, Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, Maria Shriver and Heidi Klum.

'Never thought I'd get to actually play what I thought was a hypothetical game of what would you grab if there were a fire. So far all I have is Luna, some limited edition Oreos and my Spike TV award,' tweeted Teigen, who is pregnant, as she evacuated.

She added: 'We are fine and we will be fine. Thinking of everyone else affected and continuing my lifelong intense love of firefighters.'

And Handler tackled the fires with her usual wry humor, writing: 'Just evacuated my house. It's like Donald Trump is setting the world on fire. Literally and figuratively. Stay safe everyone. Dark times.'

Meanwhile Rupert Murdoch's vineyard estate - which is one of the most expensive within the Los Angeles city limits - was evacuated before blazes burned down a temperature-controlled wine storage shed holding an unknown amount of wine. Murdoch purchased the property in 2013 for $28.8million.

The first four blazes - the Thomas Fire in Ventura County; the Creek Fire near Sylmar; the Rye Fire in Santa Clarita, and the Little Mountain Fire in San Bernardino - have already ravaged acres of land, damaging almost 200 structures and forcing 200,000 people to flee.

I saw that piece too that 8 people were detained by Border Patrol and identities were being held from the public.

Now I cannot find it. Was it scrubbed? Anyone got a working link to it?

Then there is this arsonist clown in Van Nuys. Property destruction is vile. Whether its riots or fires.

    http://abc7.com/suspect-arrested-for...-fire/2749288/

"...VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) --

As firefighters battle fast-growing blazes throughout Southern California,
a person was observed intentionally setting a palm tree on fire in Van Nuys, police said.

The person was spotted lighting a palm tree on fire near Kester Avenue and Vanowen Street,
Los Angeles Police Department Capt. Lillian Carranza said Wednesday.

The suspect was spotted dancing after lighting the fire.

I'm well aware that there are monsters out there waiting for red flag days, we have them here in Iowa as well but you don't hear about them because it's fly over country, so who cares right? It's the whole conspiracy theory thing that galls me in times like this. Most probably it was a homeless person with a fire that went out of control, illegals, maybe jihadis (that is how terror works, you threaten to do something and wait for it to happen and dance in glee making everyone think you did it when it was someone else or even mother nature, but some seem to be oblivious to this fact), the asshat who set fire to the palm tree, so on and so forth... or even some moron, like you said with chains dragging the ground.
People are quick to confuse and despise confidence as arrogance but that is common amongst those who have never accomplished anything in their lives and who have always played it safe not willing to risk failure.

I hope people saw the videos of the first fires California had. Melted aluminum in the streets. A tree on fire from the inside - not the outside.

They have shut down the power grid in the mountains of so cal because of the wind. They don’t want the lines coming down and starting another fire. They expect the power to be off for 2-3 days.

This is from a friend of mine at the power company. Same strategy they take as hurricanes hit.

Funny the underground wires in the neighborhood aren’t the issue. It’s the high voltage lines that go to the Town.

San Diego is another 25+ miles or so farther South than the bottom of this map shows.

This is just heartbreaking to watch. Prayers up for all involved. May God send some unexpected rain, with all my heart, Amen.

There is now a MANDATORY evacuation in effect for areas in Oceanside. The RED area in the attached map is a MANDATORY evacuation area. A shelter is being opened at Oceanside High School.

#LilacFire is now at 3,000 acres. 19,000+ people in #SanDiego still without power. County advising people to evacuate in warning areas, do not wait until they knock on your door.
