"Notification of Unusual Event" at Cooper Nuclear Stations

Sounds like a minor nothing burger, but doesn't hurt to make note of them in this
    day and age.

A hydrogen leak was found and is being repaired. This plant is on the Nebraska Missouri border, 3 miles SE from Brownville, near the MO river.

Workers find hydrogen leak at Cooper Nuclear power plant in southeast Nebraska. The utility issued a 'Notice of Unusual Event' to regulators, but said there is no safety threat.

Correct. An NOUE is the lowest level of any of the four alerts. It can be something as simple as a fire within the protected area that has burned longer than 15 minutes. At least they've updated the EAL calls now to be more realistic. Instead of a fire in a dumpster in the protected area, the NOUE call doesn't go out unless it has the possibility of affecting something in the power block.

A hydrogen leak can be nasty if it touches off. Almost all of the large power generators use Hydrogen gas to cool the rotor/stator - so the same thing could happen at a gas fired plant and you'd never know it!
