    Seismic Activity Increasing in Size.

There seems to be an uptick in sizable earthquakes. I've been seeing an increase in 5.0 or better over the last month. It used to be around 4.0 to 4.8; but, many are in the 5.0 or better range.

Such as in Argentina: a 5.6 yesterday; 5.1 near Alaska's string of Islands; and 5.1 near Solomon Islands.

Check it out for yourself. http://ds.iris.edu/seismon/

Just want to say thank you for posting those TG. It's easy to see it like that.

The fact that we have a "Highway To Hell" and a "Stairway To Heaven" says a lot about anticipated traffic numbers.

I'm tracking earthquakes in the '5' range before the eclipse and will post after the eclipse.

On August 17th: 6.6 North of Ascension Islands; 5.1 Guerrero, Mexico. http://ds.iris.edu/seismon/

August 18th: 6.4 Fiji Island Region; 5.5 Banda Sea; 5.2 Kermadec Islands Region; 5.1 off coast of Southern Chile. http://ds.iris.edu/seismon/

August 19th: 5.1 South Sandwich Islands.

I'll be adding info for the 19th, as they are recorded on the above site. I don't see any precursors; but there seems to be ongoing activity in the South Pacific Ocean.

When exactly did hey change the earthquake scale and by how much? Many are saying if we were on the old scale then these would be even bigger but because of the down grade they "appear" to be normal ish.

The activity was usually in the 3s and 4s....and now creeping up into the 5s and 6s. Movement seems to be slowly building and I thought I'd keep an eye on the ones in the 5s, before and after the eclipse for another week. Just doing some observations on my own...The title isn't right; it shouldn't have been increasing 'size' but increasing in activity.....sorry for the confusion....
