3 RESULTS OF 4 MONTHS TAKING DIATOMACEOUS EARTH

RESULTS OF 4 MONTHS TAKING DIATOMACEOUS EARTH

4 months ago, myself, and 4 members of family started taking from 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of Diatomaceous Earth (DE) every day in water or juice.

We have experienced amazing results - and have incredible information to share.

But first I am going to be posting articles I have found. In light of what is taking place in the medical end of our world, I think that this information is worthy of study.

Please be patient, as there is LOADS of material and it will take some time to get to it all...and hopefully in an orderly and understandable way.

......okay...........this all began when a friend, D, on the West Coast called me, stating she discovered she had parasites, and was convinced this was the cause of a long illness.

She began taking DE, and was horrified to have parasites coming from her nose, throat, bowels, and urinary tract. .... even from her belly button. That kind of floored me, because I didn't see how that was possible.

D has been my friend for over 30 years, and I started studying the DE, because she doesn't have a computer, and reading her all the information I could find. I also began taking DE.

Also Ro, Gr, Ti, Je, Al, began with me. The results have been stunning!

Many on tb2k know what DE is. For those who don't here is a summary.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diatomaceous_earth

Diatomaceous earth (pron.: /ˌd.ətəˌmʃəs ˈɜrè/) also known as D.E., diatomite, or kieselgur/kieselguhr, is a naturally occurring, soft, siliceoussedimentary rock that is easily crumbled into a fine white to off-white powder.

It has a particle size ranging from less than 3 micrometre to more than 1 millimeter, but typically 10 to 200 micrometres. Depending on the granularity, this powder can have an abrasive feel, similar to pumice powder, and is very light as a result of its high porosity.

The typical chemical composition of oven-dried diatomaceous earth is 80 to 90% silica, with 2 to 4% alumina (attributed mostly to clay minerals) and 0.5 to 2% iron oxide.[1]

Diatomaceous earth consists of fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of hard-shelled algae.

It is used as a filtration aid, mild abrasive in products including toothpaste, mechanical insecticide, absorbent for liquids, matting agent for coatings, reinforcing filler in plastics and rubber, anti-block in plastic films, porous support for chemical catalysts, cat litter, activator in blood clotting studies, a stabilizing component of dynamite, and a thermal insulator.

    Applications
    Industrial

In 1866, Alfred Nobel discovered that nitroglycerin could be made much more stable if absorbed in diatomite. This allows much safer transport and handling than nitroglycerin in its raw form. He patented this mixture as dynamite in 1867, and the mixture is also referred to as guhr dynamite.
    Filtration

One form of diatomaceous earth is used as a filter medium, especially for swimming pools. It has a high porosity, because it is composed of microscopically small, coffin-like, hollow particles.

Diatomaceous earth (sometimes referred to by trademarked brand names such as Celite) is used in chemistry as a filtration aid, to filter very fine particles that would otherwise pass through or clog filter paper.

It is also used to filter water, particularly in the drinking water treatment process and in fish tanks, and other liquids, such as beer and wine.

It can also filter syrups, sugar, and honey without removing or altering their color, taste, or nutritional properties.[7]
    Abrasive

The oldest use of diatomite is as a very mild abrasive and, for this purpose, it has been used both in toothpaste and in metal polishes, as well as in some facial scrubs.
    Pest control

Diatomite is used as an insecticide, due to its abrasive and physico-sorptive properties.[8]

The fine powder absorbs lipids from the waxy outer layer of insects' exoskeletons, causing them to dehydrate.[9]

Arthropods die as a result of the water pressure deficiency, based on Fick's law of diffusion. This also works against gastropods and is commonly employed in gardening to defeat slugs.

However, since slugs inhabit humid environments, efficacy is very low.

It is sometimes mixed with an attractant or other additives to increase its effectiveness.

Medical-grade diatomite is sometimes used to de-worm both animals and humans, with questionable efficacy.[10][11]

It is commonly used in lieu of boric acid, and can be used to help control and possibly eliminate bed bug, house dust mite, cockroach and flea infestations.[citation needed][12][13] This material has wide application for insect control in grain storage.[14]

In order to be effective as an insecticide, diatomaceous earth must be uncalcinated
(i.e., it must not be heat-treated prior to application)[15] and have a mean particle size below about 12 microns (i.e., food-grade— see below).

Although considered to be relatively low-risk, pesticides containing diatomaceous earth are not exempt from regulation in the United States under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act and must be registered with the Environmental Protection Agency.[16]
    Absorbent

Its absorbent qualities make it useful for spill clean-up and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control recommends it to clean up toxic liquid spills. These qualities also lend themselves to use in facial masks to absorb excess oils.

It has been employed as a primary ingredient in a type of cat litter. The type of silica used in cat litter comes from freshwater sources and does not pose a significant health risk to pets or humans.

The microscopic matrix of DE make it a highly effective desiccant; it can absorb up to six times its weight in water.[citation needed]

It also can be used in the absorption of Ethylene Gas to reduce decay in fruits and produce.[citation needed]

The combination of refrigeration and DE as a filter medium is one of the best ways to extend shelf life of fruits and produce commercially and in a home refrigerator.[citation needed]

One should use a food grade, as opposed to pool grade, DE when using it as a desiccant filter near fruit & produce.
    Thermal

Its thermal properties enable it to be used as the barrier material in some fire resistant safes.[citation needed] It is also used in evacuated powder insulation for use with cryogenics.[17]

Diatomaceous earth powder is inserted into the vacuum space to aid in the effectiveness of vacuum insulation. It was used in the Classical AGA Cookers as a thermal heat barrier.
    DNA purification

Diatomite (Celite) can be used for the removal of DNA in the presence of a highly concentrated chaotropic agent such as sodium iodide, guanidinium chloride and guanidinium thiocyanate.[citation needed]

As with other silicates, the diatomites will remove double stranded DNA but not RNA or proteins. The DNA can be extracted from the diatomites using low ionic strength buffers, including water, at neutral to slightly alkaline pH.[citation needed]

Crude diatomites of a uniform size must first be washed in a heated acid such as 5M HCl.[18] Calcination can further improve consistency of the material, while mild caustic treatment may improve adsorption with lower levels of chaotrophs.[citation needed]
    Use in agriculture

Natural freshwater diatomaceous earth is used in agriculture for grain storage as an anticaking agent, as well as an insecticide.[19] It is approved by the US Department of Agriculture as a feed supplement to prevent caking.(http://www.ars.usda.gov/is/np/mba/apr00/food.htm)

It is also used as a natural anthelmintic (dewormer). Some farmers add it to their livestock and poultry feed to prevent the caking of feed.[20] "

Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth" is widely available in agricultural feed supply stores. DE is acceptable as an anti caking agent for livestock.(http://www.ars.usda.gov/is/np/mba/apr00/food.htm)
    Hydroponics

Freshwater diatomite can be used as a growing medium in hydroponic gardens.
It is also used as a growing medium in potted plants, particularly as bonsai soil. Bonsai enthusiasts use it as a soil additive, or pot a bonsai tree in 100% diatomaceous earth.

Like perlite, vermiculite, and expanded clay, it retains water and nutrients, while draining fast and freely, allowing high oxygen circulation within the growing medium

Make sure your DE comes from freshwater sources, and it is food grade, with no fillers etc.

I recieved this email (below) from my sister - J- about 2 weeks ago (Be sure to read the PS too.)
J, and her husband, A, have both been taking the DE. She's 68.

She called this weekend and her husband - A, who just turned 80, went for tests to update his medications (lots of meds) and they had to reduce 2 of them! AND, they took him completely off the Lipator.

The first month on the DE, a spot on her gums healed. The dentist was impressed.

    okay, here's her email:

    Subject: DE (Diatomaceous Earth)

    Hi Sis,

I got my results back from a test done on my carotid arteries.

The first two tests, done in 2008 and 2010, showed mild to moderate Carotid Artery Disease.
The test I just got back, done in March 2013, was normal.

In two months DE cleared my carotid arteries.

    Cholesterol:
November, 2012 my Cholesterol was 237
March, 2013 my Cholesterol is 207

DE does work on the arteries, and plak build up. Yipppeeeeeeee !!!!!!!!!!!
Now I need to work on my weight. A and I will go on a gluten free diet.

Thank you for sharing. If you want to use the above info, you have my permission.

PS. I had a bright red pre-cancerous deal on my upper right shoulder. 3/4 in. in diameter.
It is so faint now, you can hardly see it, and the redness is gone. I did take a picture of that, and as soon as I'll take a current picture and send it to you.

NOTE: I have these pictures now, but can't seem to get the 'manage attachments' to work.. will hopefully figure it out.

    Abstract
In this study a potential influence of diatomaceus earth to lower blood cholesterol was investigated.

During 12 weeks we monitored serum lipid concentrations in 19 healthy individuals with a history of moderate hypercholesterinemia (9 females, 10 males, aged 35 - 67 years).

Individuals administered orally 250 mg diatomaceous earth three-times daily during an 8 weeks observation period.

Serum concentrations of cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglycerides levels were measured before study entry, every second week during the period of diatomaceous earth intake and 4 weeks after stop of intake.

Compared to baseline (285.8 +/- 37.5 mg/dl = 7.40 +/- 0.97 mM) diatomaceous earth intake was associated with a significant reduction of serum cholesterol at any time point, reaching a minimum on week 6 (248.1 mg/dl = 6.43 mM, -13.2% from baseline; p<0.001).

    Also low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (week 4: p<0.05) and triglycerides levels decreased (week 2: p<0.05, week 4: p<0.01).

Four weeks after intake of diatomaceous earth was stopped, serum cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglycerides still remained low and also the increase of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol became significant (p<0.05).

Diatomaceous earth, a bioproduct, is capable of reducing blood cholesterol and positively influencing lipid metabolism in humans. Placebo-controlled studies will be necessary to confirm our findings.

    Search youtube for DIATOMACEOUS EARTH.
There is 1 video made by a company that sells food grade DE. Never use the stuff made for pools.

I have his vid bookmarked and will see if I can post the link. He sells I think 2 pound containers up to 100 pound sacks. Vid is made by the company owner that uses the stuff and has nice electron microscope pics of the diatoms. I used it is a bug infested shop I have and sprinkled it evertwhere. Worked like a charm with many roaches and other hard shelled insects killed. When I did a house add on I put a mix of DE and boric acid oh the bottom sill plate just before the drywallers closed up the walls.

Does not seem to work on spiders well. If you have ants this is perfect to sprinkle on countertops as it slices up the exoskeleton and they dehydrate and they crawl back to where they came to spread it to the others.

Again youtube is your friend on getting more info in this good stuff. Used with a hand cranked duster/blower it is safe for garden use. Just DO NOT INHALE THE DUST!!!!!

I tried it on fire ant mounds with limited success. My doc who has passed away now said to pour bleach down the mounds and the clorine gas is heaver than air and will sink to the botttom on the nest. He said you will have a small dead patch of grass for a short while but it is worth it (he hated fire ants) I now just get a 25 pound resealable sack of amdro and spread it by hand all around my big yard. I keep the sack cool between uses as it is just soybean granuals covered with poison. I still use DE on decks and sidewalks 2 days before a rain just for the heck of it.

I have been thinking about ordering more and eating it. When I do I'll let you know if anything crawls out of me. I seen to recall there are some minerals in it also but I think it is just silica.

Another article on the DE Fossil Flour

If my hair starts turning BLONDE I will let you know! lol
    and...
If you start using DE, be sure to get a VERY pure source and not from a grain feed store. AND DRINK LOTS OF CLEAN WATER! I buy the PermaGuard from Earthworks.

    a little-known source of silica

Friday, May 20, 2011 by: Jane Goldberg

(NaturalNews) Recently someone in my community asked how to get rid of pesky critters. A neighbor who own a garden center said that they use Diatomaceous Earth. Well - that seemed to me to be a golden opportunity to reveal my little secret to the world - that I have been eating Diatomaceous Earth for about a year now.

D.E. has many beneficial effects, but it is the anti-aging effect that I have seen most pronounced as a change in myself. Rather remarkably, since I have been eating D.E., I have stopped needing to bleach my hair. It has gone from a mousy mostly grey to a luscious blond/brown (my pre-65 year old hair color).

I am really happy about this change - as it is saving me tons of money ($300 a pop for tin-foil bleaching). Even my hairdresser is surprised at the change, and keeps telling me how nice the color of my hair is. However, the good news for my hair dresser is that my hair is now growing wildly faster, and so I am able to keep her happy by needing more frequent haircuts.

Diatomaceous Earth is a fossilized deposit of microscopic shells created by one-celled plants called Diatoms. These plants inhabit all the waters of the earth, and serve as the basic food for aquatic life, just as grass is the basic food for land animals. This mineral-based compound contains silicon, magnesium, calcium, sodium, iron and other trace minerals that the body needs to stay healthy. All Diatomaceous Earth is 84% Silicon Dioxide (Silica).

Here is the science behind my peculiar habit of eating this stuff:

Diatomaceous Earth is the hands-down best source of the mineral silica. In 1939, Nobel Prize Doctor Butenant showed the importance of silica for life itself. It may be true that silica is the most important trace element in human health. Silica plays an important role in many body functions.

The human body holds approximately seven grams of silica, a quantity far exceeding the figures for other important minerals. Years ago, the silica found in our foodstuffs was adequate for our needs. But with today's hybrids and depleted soils, only about 1/3 of the silica needed is supplied in our food.?

Diatomaceous Earth looks like a cylinder full of holes--kind of like Rice Chex Cereal. This cylinder has a very strong negative charge while pathogens have a positive charge.

As these millions of cylinders move through the stomach and digestive tract, they attract and absorb fungi, protozoa, viruses, endotoxins, pesticides and drug residues, E-Coli, and heavy metals. These are trapped inside the cylinder and passed out of the body. In addition, any larger parasites that happen to be in the stomach or digestive tract are "cut up" and killed by the sharp edges of the diatomaceous earth. All of these activities result in a much healthier body with less sickness.?

    Detoxification Benefits:

The spa that I own, La Casa Day Spa ( http://www.Lacasaspa.com ) in Manhattan, emphasizes therapies that detox the body. Last month, we wrote our 50,000th receipt. That's 50,000 detox treatments we have done in 18 years, a lion's share of those being colonics. We want all people to continue to have colonics because colonics give a thorough cleansing of the colon. But we also want people to know how to continue colon cleansing at home. D.E. is the perfect home remedy.

Diatomaceous Earth is?very?hard. On the hardness scale where diamonds are a 9, Diatomaceous Earth is a 7. This hardness is important because as those millions of tiny hard and sharp diatomaceous earth cylinders pass through the small and large intestines, they "scrub" the walls. After only a few months of taking Diatomaceous Earth, the intestine wall is no longer coated with mucus and molds but has become clean. The advantages of this are several:

-regularizes bowel movements (this is the most frequently mentioned benefit about D.E.)
-creates a healthier colon environment (a cleaner colon helps to keep away polyps, cancers,
    and ulcers)
-gives increased energy and less need for sleep (with a cleaner colon, food and nutrients are
better absorbed into the blood stream)
-reduces inflammation of the intestinal tract (can prevent or clear up diarrhea and, rather
intelligently, also cures the opposite condition of constipation)
    -helps to normalize hemorrhoidal tissues
-alleviates lower back pain that is caused by a too-full colon

But the health benefits of D.E. only begin with colon detoxification. Other benefits of Diatomaceous Earth can be organized around three principles: over-all health; anti-aging; weight loss.

    Over-All Health Benefits:
-helps repair and maintain vital lung tissues and protects them from pollution
    -lowers high blood pressure
    -lowers high cholesterol
    -addresses osteoporosis?& joint problems
-acts as a cough decreasing agent; tones the upper respiratory tract (nose, pharynx, larynx)
and reduces swelling because of its positive action on the lymphatic system
-helps to prevent many unwanted side-effects of menopause?
    -helps to prevent kidney stones
-heals infections of the urinary tract; is a natural diuretic which can increase excretion of
urine by 30 percent, thus flushing the water-excreting system and restoring normal
    function to these vital organs
-effective with female discharge, abscesses and ulcers in the genital area and cervix, as well
as mastitis (especially for breast feeding mothers).
-acts as a supportive treatment for inflammation of the middle ear (effective in reducing
swelling of the lymph nodes in the throat)
-has anti-inflammatory disinfecting, absorbing and odor binding effects
-normalizes circulation and regulates high blood pressure (hypertension)
-decreases vertigo, headache, tinnitus (buzzing of the ears) and insomnia
-promotes synthesis of elastase inhibitor by the pancreas, thus helping to normalize diabetes
    -strengthens blood vessels
    -helps to prevent Tuberculosis.
-improves the elasticity of the joints; helps rheumatism
-stimulates metabolism for higher energy levels

    Weight Loss:

One of the benefits of silica is that it helps to destroy bad fats. Taken in the morning, it helps to curb appetite throughout the day.

    Anti-Aging:

Hair (90 micrograms per gram) needs almost as much silica as bone (100 micrograms per gram). Eating D.E., with its rich supply of silica, should be part of any ongoing hair revitalization program. Silica helps to prevent baldness, stimulates healthier hair growth and assures beautiful shine, luster and strength.

D.E. serves as nature's internal cosmetic for skin, nails and teeth as well as hair.?Collagen underneath the skin enhances elasticity and beauty. Collagen is largely made up of silica. As we age, tissue degeneration?accelerates because our connective tissue begins to lose the ability to retain moisture. Silica helps to slow down the degenerative/moisture-losing process of aging connective tissue.?
Silica also protects our teeth and gums. By hardening the enamel, silica prevents cavities and preserves teeth. Silica also helps to prevent bleeding gums, gum atrophy, and recession.

Finally, silica can help avoid or alleviate Alzheimer's by preventing the body from absorbing aluminum.

this is all interesting.. especially the quote that they have been able to stop using vaccines and antibiotics... hmmm....

    DE TESTS ON ANIMALS

Dr. Phillip Schaible, while heading the Dept. of Poultry Sciences at Michigan State University, reported:

"Contains 15 trace minerals important to animal diets. DE mixes well with all feeds while guarding against insect damage. Prevents worms and keeps virus epidemics from developing. Saves albumen, destroys harmful acids, safeguards the stomach. Improves health and growth of young animals. Causes better digestion, allowing animals to absorb a higher percentage of protein from its regular diet".

Dr. C.S. Hansen, DVM, with 8,000 chickens - "...immediately had a lower death rate, egg production went up and egg breakage went down". His profitability went way up.

Dr. H.D. Johnson, DVM, with 2000 calves – after 2 years, not a single case of scours. He says, "using Fossil Shell Flour we have been able to eliminate vaccines and antibiotics".

Dr. M. F. Petty, DVM, "...gave immediate elimination and control of worms, stopped pigs from rooting and chewing feeder boxes, reduced manure odor, greatly reduced fly population and increased feed efficiency. Really improved profitability."

Capital South Syndicate by Dan Miller, manager.- Feeding FSF to my show and race horses, stallions, mares, foals and horses in training, we have seen improvements in their hair coat and their attitude. Flies and parasites are less of a problem.

Leslie "Shorty" Thomas, L. Frank Roper Stables, Winter Park, FL. - "I take pride in the appearance and health of the horses under my care, which have won many national awards against stiff competition... I am grateful to have found Fossil Shell Flour ... It stopped scours, noticeably reduced flies, increased appetites, better feed conversion, eliminated internal parasites and created a healthier appearance. I would definitely recommend this product to other horsemen".

PARASITES CAUSE CANCER IN BLADDER AND LIVER

The parasites that cause schistosomiasis (bilharzia), especially S. haematobium, can cause bladder cancer and cancer at other sites.[14] Inflammation triggered by the worm's eggs appears to be the mechanism by which squamous cell carcinoma of the bladder is caused.

In Asia, infection by S. japonicum is associated with colorectal cancer.[14]

Distomiasis, caused by parasitic liver flukes, is associated with cholangiocarcinoma (cancer of the bile duct) in East Asia.[14]

    HONG KONG | Thu Jun 30, 2011 6:49am EDT

HONG KONG (Reuters) - Health authorities in northeast Thailand plan to screen people for fluke worms to detect early signs of bile duct cancer, a deadly disease linked to eating uncooked freshwater fish.

Rivers in northeast Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, the Koreas and China are infested with the tiny parasitic worms which find their way into the human body when seafood is eaten raw.

According to the World Health Organization, 67 million people are at risk of this worm and 9 million are infected in Cambodia, Laos and the northeastern parts of Thailand and Vietnam.

Most of the infected people are men and they can develop bile duct cancer by the time they are 40 or 50.

"Everyone above 30 years of age will get an annual stool examination to screen (for fluke eggs). Those who are infected will be treated (with drugs)," said Pongsadhorn Pokpermdee, health economist and public health deputy for Nongbualanpoo province in the northeast.

"Those who are over 40 and found infected will get an ultrasound to detect any signs of tumor (early cancer)," he told Reuters in an interview.

Any tumor detected will be surgically removed, he added.

While the cancer is a leading cause of death in the Mekong region, the screening program will start in Nongbualanpoo province, Pongsadhorn said.

Just one tablet of praziquantel, which is given free, can get rid of the worms but that does not solve the problem as people get infected repeatedly if they continue to eat raw seafood.

The plan is in line with Thailand's overall goal to provide better disease prevention health services at a time when its people are living longer and increasing numbers of them are crippled with chronic, non-communicable diseases that take far longer to treat and are more expensive to treat.

"This is the top cause of mortality for this province, higher than heart disease, stroke," said Pongsadhorn.

"It is a neglected disease that affects mainly poor people ... if left untreated, it can develop into cancer in 10 to 20 years," he said, adding that it affected more men than women in a ratio of 3:1.

"The disease affects mostly men in their 40s and 50s ... it affects the family because they are heads of families and they can't work once they have cancer," Pongsadhorn said.

A raw fish dish, called Koi-pla, is not only a culinary favorite in the Mekong, it has also found its way into other parts of Asia, such as Hong Kong and Singapore, because of the popularity of Thai cuisine.

The fluke, which has two suckers, attacks the human bile duct by biting on its wall, which causes ulcers and cancers years later.

Bile duct cancer, or cholangiocarcinoma, is usually diagnosed at an advanced stage because symptoms surface late.

    For Your Information

    The 1/92nd Field Artillery
    Association - Vietnam
    Parasite Liver Cancer Warning

To All Veterans Who Served In South East Asia

I am writing to inform you of potential health risk that you may have been exposed to while serving in Vietnam. In addition to Agent Orange there is a little know danger from parasites. |

My husband who was otherwise healthy passed away January 20, 2006 from Cholangiocarcinoma, cancer of the bile duct of the liver. At this time it is very rare in the United States but very prevalent in Vietnam and surrounding countries. There are two known causes of this type of cancer. One cause is to contract Hepatitis C and the other is to have ingested a parasite from the water supply in Vietnam. My husband did not have Hepatitis C and therefore it was determined that his cancer was derived from a parasite.

I have received official notification from the VA that his death was service related, which is not something the VA determines without an overwhelming amount of evidence. According to the research, this cancer does not manifest itself until later in life, when you are between 60 and 70 years old but once the symptoms occur, usually jaundice, it is very difficult to treat or beat. My husband was 58 years old when he passed away and many of his fellow veterans are approaching the age where this may be an issue. If he had been informed that there was a possibility that he could have ingested a parasite while serving in Vietnam, he would have taken every precaution to have his bile ducts examined, possibly extending his life. Of course the parasite is long gone but it left behind damaged cells, which developed into cancerous tumors in the bile ducts.

You can access volumes of information on the internet by entering "cholangiocarcinoma" as a search engine word. If you spent time in Southeast Asia and are having gastrointestinal issues, with no apparent reason, please suggest to your physician to check for damage within the bile ducts. It may save your life.

    ...terrible part of this==

...they intend to make a vaccine, when DE will get rid of the parasite ----if your faithful in taking the VERY INEXPENSIVE, NATURAL AND {{{{UNpatentable}}}} diatoms.. for at least 90 days............

    PARASITES CAUSE CANCER IN MILLIONS!--------------------

QIMR is also part of an international research consortium
(funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation)
the Human Hookworm Vaccine Initiative which will develop a vaccine against human hookworm infection.

The group is developing recombinant vaccines against this blood-feeding nematode, a roundworm that infects 740 million people throughout the developing world.

Global project to combat parasites that cause cancer and infection in millions

Many cancers are associated with infections (for example cervical cancer is linked to the human papilloma virus) but there is no stronger link between a human malignancy and a parasitic infection than that between cancer of the bile ducts and a liver fluke called Opisthorchis viverrini.

Scientists at The Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR), with colleagues in Thailand and the U.S.A., have now commenced a major international study to identify the mechanisms by which the liver fluke causes cancer of the bile ducts (also known as cholangiocarcinoma - CCA).

"Throughout East Asia there is a strikingly high prevalence of CCA in regions where the human liver fluke is endemic. CCA is extremely prevalent in Northeast Thailand, areas where uncooked cyprinoid fish are a staple of the diet. In Northeast Thailand and Laos, an estimated 6 million people are infected with Opisthorchis viverrini, and despite widespread drug treatment that has been implemented in the past, the prevalence of Opisthorchis viverrini in some endemic areas approaches 70 percent ", said Dr Alex Loukas of the Helminth Biology Laboratory at QIMR.

"Moreover, in Thailand, liver cancer is the most prevalent of the fatal cancers, and rates of CCA in regions where the parasite is endemic are unprecedented."

By way of comparison, CCA is responsible for about 24% of liver cancers in the U.S. compared with 87% in Khon Kaen, Thailand. The QIMR study will explore the genes of the parasite and characterise proteins secreted into the bile ducts to understand how chronic infection can lead to tumour formation.

The group will also identify potential markers of the risk of developing heavy infection with the parasite and subsequent progression to CCA, information that will advance our understanding of the molecular pathogenesis of this disease and, moreover, to guide public health policies for control of liver fluke-associated CCA.

QIMR is also part of an international research consortium (funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation) the Human Hookworm Vaccine Initiative which will develop a vaccine against human hookworm infection. The group is developing recombinant vaccines against this blood-feeding nematode, a roundworm that infects 740 million people throughout the developing world.

"Hookworms have a voracious appetite for blood, and heavy infections result in anaemia. Such heavy blood loss is disastrous in infants and children and can cause physical and mental retardation," said Dr Loukas. "Our recombinant vaccines will kill the larval stage of the worm, interfering with its ability to penetrate skin and establish an infection."

The QIMR researchers are primarily responsible for developing the second component of what is envisaged to be a bivalent vaccine containing two proteins. The second protein is a haemoglobinase, an enzyme used by the parasite to digest host blood. Preliminary studies indicate that a vaccine based on the haemoglobinase enzyme interrupts the blood-feeding process of the hookworm, causing them to starve to death.

I hear you, Broken Wings, it IS scary. My friend, D, wouldn't leave her house for several months, afraid a worm would come out her nose in front of people. She found one floating in her bath water and stopped bathing..(just showers)
But better to come OUT than to have the creepy things still living inside.
I'll tell my own personal story soon, but want to get some of this research posted first.

    Asthma

Asthma is a very old disease described in the ancient literature. The only progress we have made to date with this disease is to give drugs to soothe the symptoms.

Asthma is associated in all (100%) cases with tiny Ascaris larvae.

As soon as eggs hatch (in the stomach, immediately after swallowing ) the microscopic larvae travel to the lungs, not the intestines. Imagine the stress of lungs full of tiny worms!

One tries to cough them up, of course, but in our misguided effort to be polite we teach children to swallow anything they cough up! Some swallowing is inevitable and the young worms are back in the stomach, this time to set up their house keeping in the intestine. Some never leave the stomach, causing children stomach aches and, of course, a large entourage of bacteria which, in turn, have their viruses.

Not everybody with Ascaris develops asthma, even though they always go through a lung stage. Does this depend on the age of the person when the infection develops? Or how many Ascaris are present?

Or the time of year when lung infection is present?

That innocent cough of early childhood should not be neglected, as simply “croup”. At the first sign of a cough, use a zapper. Pay extra attention to washing hands before meals. Pay extra attention to animals nearby.

    Kill their Ascaris with a zapper and keep it up daily or put parasite killing herbs in their food. ({{{{DIATOMACEOUS EARTH}}}

Asthma sufferers become allergic to many air pollutants such as pollen, animal dander, smoke. The production of histamine in the lungs and the vast interconnectedness of histamine to allergies has been well studied scientifically.

Although invasion by worms is known to result in both histamine production and high eosinophil counts (over 3), and asthma clients typically have both, they are not routinely checked for worms clinically!

They are simply given drugs to enable better breathing. More and better (though toxic) drugs have been developed.

But you can put an end to your asthma by terminating your Ascaris infection. [...] Dogs, cats, pigs and horses all get Ascaris. [...] If there is an asthmatic in your family, the whole family should be treated for Ascaris.

I searched for days trying to find out (from an authorative source) how it is possible for the Diatomaceous Earth to eradicate lung worm, or ascariasis.

I found it!!! from Mayo Clinic. This is why they say the DE must be taken at least 90 days, to complete all the 10 day cycles.

Up your one teaspoon to a second one in the afternoon.

It's said that millions have this.
The ascariasis also is THE CAUSE of pneumonia and emphysema! probably also chronic bronchitis.

    By Mayo Clinic staff

Most people infected with ascariasis have no symptoms. Moderate to heavy infestations cause symptoms that may vary, depending on which part of your body is affected.

    In the lungs
After you ingest the microscopic ascariasis eggs, they hatch in your small intestine and the larvae migrate through your bloodstream or lymphatic system into your lungs. At this stage, you may experience signs and symptoms similar to asthma or pneumonia, including:

    Persistent cough
    Shortness of breath
    Wheezing
After spending six to 10 days in the lungs, the larvae travel to your throat, where you cough them up and then swallow them.

    In the intestines
The larvae mature into adult worms in your small intestine, and the adult worms typically live in the intestines until they die.

    Abstract

Silica present in drinking water may be protective with respect to the decrease of cognitive function as it was suggested by several epidemiologic studies.

Data from French cohort have demonstrated that aluminium in drinking water seems to have a deleterious effect and increased the risk of cognitive impairment when the silica concentrations were low.

Moreover, it has been shown that the performances to a cognitive test were positively correlated to the consumption of silica and that the risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD) was reduced in subjects who had the higher daily silica intake compared to the others.

The silica is probably the natural antidote of the aluminium and could play a benefit role by decreasing the biodisponibility of aluminium, whose neurotoxicity is now clearly established. Data have suggested the possible use of silicates as a therapeutic agent for AD since both model tangles and precipitated beta-pleated sheets of betaA4 can be reversed to soluble forms by silicates. The role of silica in drinking water on cognitive function has been however little studied and clear results have not yet emerge.

The potential benefit of silica needs to be confirmed in additional investigations to exclude causes of error related to certain methodological biases. If such association do indeed exist, interventional strategies could be set up to reduce the incidence of AD. The aim of this paper is to review articles published on silica present in drinking water in relation with AD and associated disorders.

    Abstract

There has been a plausible link between human exposure to aluminum and Alzheimer's disease for several decades. We contend that the only direct and ethically acceptable experimental test of the 'aluminum hypothesis', which would provide unequivocal data specific to the link, is to test the null hypothesis that a reduction in the body burden of aluminum to its lowest practical limit would have no influence upon the incidence, progression, or severity of Alzheimer's disease.

Herein we are testing the hypothesis that silicon-rich mineral waters can be used as non-invasive methods to reduce the body burden of aluminum in individuals with Alzheimer's disease and a control group consisting of their carers and partners.

We have shown that drinking up to 1 L of a silicon-rich mineral water each day for 12 weeks facilitated the removal of aluminum via the urine in both patient and control groups without any concomitant affect upon the urinary excretion of the essential metals, iron and copper.

We have provided preliminary evidence that over 12 weeks of silicon-rich mineral water therapy the body burden of aluminum fell in individuals with Alzheimer's disease and, concomitantly, cognitive performance showed clinically relevant improvements in at least 3 out of 15 individuals.
This is a first step in a much needed rigorous test of the 'aluminum hypothesis of Alzheimer's disease' and a longer term study involving many more individuals is now warranted.

    Abstract

The maintenance of endothelial integrity is of great importance in coping with age-related vascular alterations.

Endothelium-derived nitric oxide is one of the various vasoactive substances able to regulate vascular tone and homeostasis, and whose decrease is known to be related with senescence in endothelial cells.

There are reports on the efficacy of silicon, especially as silicic acid, in protecting vascular integrity during age-related vascular diseases.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the ability of supplementation of silicic acid in drinking water in the maintenance of vascular health in a mouse model of early physiological aging.

In particular, we evaluated the relationship between Si supplementation and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) expression, taking into account also the aquaporin-1 (AQP-1) isoform that, as recently reported, seems to be involved in nitric oxide transport across cell membranes. Our results showed that silicic acid supplementation increased both eNOS and AQP-1 expression, suggesting that silicic acid modulation of endothelial nitric oxide synthase and aquaporin-1 could represent a potential strategy against age-related vascular senescence.

    Abstract

Adsorption kinetics of zearalenone (ZEA) toxin from synthetic gastric fluid (SGF) and synthetic body fluid (SBF) by talc and diatomite was studied in the batch experiments.

Chemical composition, morphology and structure of the used adsorbents were examined by scanning electron microscopy, FTIR spectroscopy and low-temperature nitrogen adsorption/desorption method. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method was used for ZEA determining.

The study results showed that ZEA is more effectively adsorbed on the talc (73% and 54% from SGF and SBF respectively). The efficiency on the diatomite was lower (53% and 42% from SGF and SBF respectively).

The first order kinetics model was applied to describe the adsorption process. Rate of the ZEA adsorption from SGF is very rapid initially with about 95% of amount of the toxin adsorbed during first 5 min, while ZEA is adsorbed from SBF in two steps. The values of determined Gibbs free energy of adsorption (from -13 to -17 kJ/mol) indicated that adsorption of ZEA toxin by the both adsorbents are spontaneous and exothermic.

    Abstract

Diatomaceous earth was modified by in situ precipitation of metallic hydroxides. Modification decreased the negative charge on the diatomaceous earth and increased its ability to adsorb viruses in water.

Electrostatic interactions were more important than hydrophobic interactions in virus adsorption to modified diatomaceous earth.

Filters containing diatomaceous earth modified by in situ precipitation of a combination of ferric chloride and aluminum chloride adsorbed greater than 80% of enteroviruses (poliovirus 1, echovirus 5, and coxsackievirus B5) and coliphage MS2 present in tap water at ambient pH (7.8 to 8.3), even after filtration of 100 liters of tap water. Viruses adsorbed to the filters could be recovered by mixing the modified diatomaceous earth with 3% beef extract plus 1 M NaCl (pH 9).

    Subject: parasites cause cancer

    HARVARD

Dr Catherine de Martel and Dr Martyn Plummer, from the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France, wrote in The Lancet Oncology journal: 'Infections with certain viruses, bacteria, and parasites are one of the biggest and preventable causes of cancer worldwide.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...aths-year.html
Bacteria, viruses and parasites cause around two million cases of cancer in the world each year, experts believe.

Of the 7.5 million global deaths from cancer that occurred in 2008, an estimated 1.5 million may have been due to potentially preventable or treatable infections.

Scientists carried out a statistical analysis of cancer incidence to calculate that around 16 per cent of all cancers diagnosed in 2008 were infection-related.

Cancerous cells for cervical cancer, one of the two million cases of cancer being caused by bacteria, viruses and parasites

The proportion of cancers linked to infection was three times higher in developing than in developed countries.

Key cancer-causing infectious agents include human papillomavirus (HPV), the gastric bug Helicobacter pylori and the hepatitis B (HBV) and C viruses.

These four were together believed to be responsible for 1.9 million cases of cancer, mostly gastric, liver and cervical cancers.

Cervical cancer accounted for around half of infection-related women’s cancers. In men, more than 80 per cent of infection-related cancers affected the liver, stomach and colon.

Study lead authors Dr Catherine de Martel and Dr Martyn Plummer, from the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France, wrote in The Lancet Oncology journal: 'Infections with certain viruses, bacteria, and parasites are one of the biggest and preventable causes of cancer worldwide.

'Application of existing public-health methods for infection prevention, such as vaccination, safer injection practice, or antimicrobial treatments, could have a substantial effect on future burden of cancer worldwide.'

The researchers used information from a number of sources including a cancer-incidence database covering 27 cancers from 184 countries.

Commenting on the findings in journal, Dr Goodarz Danaei from the Harvard School of Public Medicine in Boston, US, wrote: 'Their estimates show the potential for preventive and therapeutic programmes in less developed countries to significantly reduce the global burden of cancer and the vast disparities across regions and countries.

'Since effective and relatively low-cost vaccines for HPV and HBV are available, increasing coverage should be a priority for health systems in high-burden countries.'

One of the major problems of vaccines is mercury.

DE will work to begin cleanning these toxic metals and poisons out of your body. It won't work over night, but a teaspoon in water every day till Yahshua comes would be a good idea..
More thoughts: Virus' and bacterias are a form of parasite. It's said that a small portion of the DE will enter the bloodstream and destroy all the parasites in the blood, like candida and virus. Maybe even malaria... since that too is a parasite.

Oh....... if its so good, why don't doctors give it to their patients? Good question... maybe because its like NATURAL and UNpatentable and therefore its CHEAP!!

    more coming.....

    Subject: mY nOTE +1st Parasite & It's Not a Tumor, It's a Brain Worm

Below is an ABC news clip .
    But First, ........

we watched a movie based on a true story. It was about a girl - healthy, athletic, and wanting to be a missionary. At 16 years old, she went on a mission trip to Africa for a few months.

Shortly after returning home, she became sick, coughing a lot, and the first prognosis was Bronchitis, but it wasn't getting better. They did more tests and she had a 'mass' around her heart!
Now, this is something I've never heard of. But whatever it was, it took over.

My thought is that she may have contracted one of the nasty parasites in Africa.
In fact, I'm beginning to think most ALL sickness begins with parasite infection of some sort or variety.

This can be backed with many recent studies, of people having 'cancer' that begins with a parasite.

    Now... think about THIS! =========>>>>

Read in Genesis... Adam and Eve were forbidden to even touch the tree... but they ate from it.
The {{{serpent}}} was there. And from this point on they would die!

Maybe.... just maybe... this was the first parasite infection---------------and it brought sickness and death....

Ok..now this article about a brain worm.
(btw This is a good witness to the Scriptural teaching of what NOT to eat.)

    It's Not a Tumor, It's a Brain Worm
    By LAUREN COX
    ABC News Medical Unit
    Nov. 24, 2008

Late last summer, Rosemary Alvarez of Phoenix thought she had a brain tumor. But on the operating table her doctor discovered something even more unsightly -- a parasitic worm eating her brain.
Alvarez, 37, was first referred to the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix with balance problems, difficulty swallowing and numbness in her left arm.

An MRI scan revealed a foreign growth at her brain stem that looked just like a brain tumor to Dr. Peter Nakaji, a neurosurgeon at the Barrow Neurological Institute.

"Ones like this that are down in the brain stem are hard to pick out," said Nakaji. "And she was deteriorating rather quickly, so she needed it out."

Yet at a key moment during the operation to remove the fingernail-sized tumor, Nakaji, instead, found a parasite living in her brain, a tapeworm called Taenia solium, to be precise.

"I was actually quite pleased," said Nakaji. "As neurosurgeons, we see a lot of bad things and have to deliver a lot of bad news."

When Alvarez awoke, she heard the good news that she was tumor-free and she would make a full recovery. But she also heard the disturbing news of how the worm got there in the first place.

Nakaji said someone, somewhere, had served her food that was tainted with the feces of a person infected with the pork tapeworm parasite.

    ABCNEWS.com
"It wasn't that she had poor hygiene, she was just a victim," said Nakaji.

Pork Tapeworms a Small, But Growing Trend
"We've got a lot more of cases of this in the United States now," said Raymond Kuhn, professor of biology and an expert on parasites at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. "Upwards of 20 percent of neurology offices in California have seen it."

The pork tapeworm has plagued people for thousands of years. The parasite, known as cysticercosis, lives in pork tissue, and is likely the reason why Jewish and Muslim dietary laws ban pork.

Kuhn said whether you get a tapeworm in the intestine, or a worm burrowing into your brain can depend on how you consumed the parasite.

    How Humans Get Worms
Eat the parasite in tainted meat and you'll end up eating the larvae, called cysts. Kuhn said in that case, a person can only end up with a tapeworm.

"You can eat cysts all day long and it won't get into your brain," said Kuhn. Instead, the larvae go through the stomach and mature in the intestine.

"When it gets down into their small intestine, it latches on, and then it starts growing like an alien," said Kuhn.

Once there, the tapeworm starts feeding and gets to work. A single tapeworm will release 50,000 eggs a day, most of which usually end up in the toilet.

"They can see these little packets pass in their feces," said Kuhn. "And ... sometimes people eat the eggs from feces by accident."

Kuhn said it is then feces-tainted food, and not undercooked pork, that leads to worms burrowing into the brain.

Unlike the cysts, the eggs are able to pass from the stomach into the bloodstream. From there, the eggs may travel and lodge in various parts of the body -- including the muscle, the brain or under the skin -- before maturing into cysts themselves.

According to Kuhn, who has traveled to study this parasite, cysticercosis is a big problem in some parts of Latin America and Mexico where health codes are hard to enforce and people may frequently eat undercooked pork.

As people travel across the border with Mexico for vacation and work, Kuhn said so does the tapeworm. One person infected with a parasite, who also has bad hand washing habits, can infect many others with eggs.

"These eggs can live for three months in formaldehyde," said Kuhn. "You got to think, sometimes, a person is slapping lettuce on your sandwich with a few extra add-ons there."

    Getitng the Worms Out
Dr. Christopher Madden, an assistant professor in the University of Texas Southwestern department of neurological surgery in Dallas, has operated on a number of these cysts himself. He said not every worm needs to be surgically removed; those whose location is not an immediate threat to the patient's health can be treated with medications that cause the worms to die.

But when the cysts are in problematic locations, as was the case for Alvarez, an operation is necessary. Fortunately, the long-term prognosis for most patients is positive.

"Most patients we see actually do very well with medicines and/or surgery to take out a large cyst," Madden said.

Alvarez is not alone in accidentally eating tainted food, but Nakaji rarely sees cases so severe that people require surgery. Nakaji said he only removed six or seven worms in neurosurgery this year.

"But lodging in the brain stem is bad luck," he said.

Nakaji said other parts of the brain have more "room" or tissue to expand around a growing cyst. However the brain stem, which is crucial to life, is only the width of a finger or two.

"She could have recovered," said Nakaji. "But if the compression lasted for long enough, she could have been left permanently disabled or dead."

Kaayla T. Daniel, PhD and Galen D. Knight, PhD

Subject: Medical tests on Diatomaceous Earth

Removing toxicity from the body by diatomaceoous earth can be found on pages 41 and 42 of this PDF by Kaayla T. Daniel, PhD, CCN and Galen D. Knight, PhD in their article "Mad as a Hatter"......there is no better product to detox HEAVY METALS and RADIATION from your body than with Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth!

    {{{{Here is the part of her research regarding DE: And I'll include the link at the bottom if you want to read her paper on Metal Toxicity.}}}}

How to Avoid Toxic Metals and Clear Them from the Body

Until we can clean up the planet and our act, we fortunately do have a “dirt cheap,” stop-gap way of coping with metal toxicity. That solution is diatomaceous earth. Dr. Knight has extensively tested a product produced by Perma-Guard that is also available through WisdomWays in Edgewood, Colorado.58

Diatomaceous earth comes from fossilized shells of freshwater diatoms and is found in vast deposits all over the earth. Made up of silicone and trace minerals, diatomaceous earth can, according to the scientific literature, absorb methyl mercury, E. coli, endotoxins, viruses (including poliovirus), organophosphate pesticide residues, drug residue, and protein, perhaps even the proteinaceous toxins produced by some intestinal infections.59,60

The only caveat is that diatomaceous earth used for human or animal detoxification must be food grade. People and other mammals should never use the coarse, crystalline form of diatomaceous earth sold for use in swimming pool filters or as insecticides, or sources of diatomaceous earth contaminated with toxins like arsenic and the metal toxins.

If inhaled, the crystalline form can cause a disabling lung disease called silicosis and upon ingestion might puncture the lining of the alimentary tract. Foodgrade diatomaceous earth binds metals and other toxins, gently siphoning or leaching them out of storage areas and passing them innocuously out of the body.61

Microscopic live cell analyses of blood taken from individuals who have detoxed using food-grade diatomaceous earth for many months display little evidence that the particles make their way intact into the blood. Hair analyses of these individuals display normal or even slightly low amounts of silica.

This evidence, combined with a very low trace and toxic mineral content (usually in parts per million), supports the concept that diatomaceous earth works by removing toxins that poison the immune and regulatory functions, rather than by adding trace minerals that support these processes.62

To detoxify with diatomaceous earth, dissolve less than one teaspoon to one tablespoon for every 100 pounds of body weight in a glass of pure water and drink before bed over a period of months or years.

Taken this way, its metal-binding capacity is unlikely to hinder the absorption of needed minerals such as calcium, magnesium and zinc, which we take in from our food at mealtimes or from supplements during the day.

Moderation and patience is advised, as taking more than one tablespoon can create some very uncomfortable side effects.

An overeager dentist, for example, took an estimated 12 tablespoons overnight in a foolish attempt to quickly rid his body of years of accumulated mercury. He may have let go of some quicksilver all right, but he also developed a bad case of bowel inflammation that mimicked constipation so completely that he feared his gut was turning into concrete!

Even at low levels of under one teaspoon per day, detoxification may trigger the discomfort known as a “healing crisis.” This discomfort may be nothing more than inflammation caused by a reawakening immune system as it detoxifies and begins to attack previously unaddressed chronic infections and/or stores of toxic metals.

Increasing the amount slowly from less than one teaspoon to a rounded tablespoon over a few days or weeks may help to avoid this situation. One does want to remove the toxins as fast as the body wants to release them, however, and as much as two percent dry weight in the diet or about a tablespoon per 100 pounds is appropriate if the body weight is not outrageous.

Even so, individuals suffering from perforations of the alimentary tract (such as bleeding ulcers, colitis, leaky gut syndrome and advanced lupus) always should exercise caution and use diatomaceous earth only under the care of a doctor or other health practitioner.63

Many health practitioners report good results with other dirts such as bentonite clay and zeolites, as well as assorted mineral toddies, colloidal mineral products, “magnetic” clays and other allegedly miraculous down-and-dirty cure-alls.

Typically, these are advertised as offering many benefits without adverse effects. Many may work as advertised.

However, anecdotal evidence and our own personal experience indicate that some cause diarrhea and other alimentary tract disturbances. We haven’t come close to testing all of them, but hair mineral analysis tests on people who have regularly taken some of these products have indicated major imbalances of macro and trace minerals and unexpectedly high levels of some toxic metals, especially aluminum.

Although presence of the latter might indicate that removal is underway, the other out-of-whack ratios point to a body out of homeostasis and struggling with the detoxification process.

Purity may also be an issue. There are more than 200 types of bentonite clay, most of which have an aluminum content of anywhere from 15 to 75 percent, and some products in the marketplace have been manufactured with harmful, commercial emulsifiers. Zeolites are hydrated aluminosilicate minerals from a family of microporous solids known as “molecular sieves” that supposedly can selectively sort molecules on the basis of size.

More than 150 naturally occurring types exist, most of which are not pure and are contaminated to varying degrees by other minerals, metals and quartz, as well as the aluminum.

Many of these detox products are advertised as having the ability to get inside bodily cells. While patented “nanotechnology” or whatever to accomplish this might sound like a “plus value,” we must ask about untold and as yet unknown effects upon mineral and energy metabolism, such as pulling toxins into the cells and body rather than out of them.

These concerns may eventually prove unfounded, but for now we are sticking with the proven safety of diatomaceous earth.

The only thing better might be diatomaceous earth combined with inositol as in the product ToxiClenz from WisdomWays.64 Yes, inositol is the core of phytate, an antinutrient found in grains, beans and soy, among other plant foods.

And, yes, the Weston A. Price Foundation has been very active in warning people about the need to properly soak and prepare these foods in order to inactivate phytate so it will not interfere with absorption of calcium, zinc and other minerals.

After all, people in third world countries (who eat plant-based diets out of necessity) as well as people in developed countries (who favor them for alleged health benefits or because of vegetarianism beliefs), often develop serious phytate-induced mineral deficiencies.

On the plus side, phytate-containing products such as unleavened breads or coarse porridges have been used in many cultures to detoxify, though usually only on a once per year basis.65

Given our toxic world and the toxic loads of those in health crisis, we may need to use this type of product more often, since the hexaphosphate ringed inositol can bind up and help to neutralize the metal toxins, perhaps even helping to transport them to the diatomaceous earth for elimination.

To minimize damage and maximize benefit, take care to include optimum levels of minerals through a nourishing traditional diet combined with a program of laboratory testing to determine and monitor appropriate nutritional mineral supplementation.

Isn't that interesting? ... just by giving their cows (DE) Fossil Shell Flour?! :-)

Dr. H.D. Johnson, D.V.M., Saskatchewan Vet Clinic, Canada, worked with 2,000 calves for two years without a single case of scours, using Fossil Shell Flour. He says, “using Fossil Shell Flour, we have been able to eliminate vaccines and antibiotics.”
    http://howtousediatomaceousearth.com/uses/ants/dogs/#

    Dear Wally,
FSF is given free choice to calves at 36 to 48 hours after birth. The calves readily consume it, even at this young age. In a very few cases FSF is placed in the mouth so that they acquire a taste for it. Following this they eat it on their own.

FSF has been used on approximately 2,000 calves; the results have been consistent and gratifying. The incidence of calf scours has been 99% eliminated. There have been cases of Diarrhea, but this has been due to the calf over eating on milk. No true case of calf scours as such has been observed.

The reason for FSF doing such a commendable job of preventing calf scours, pneumonia and white muscle disease is due to the baby being provided with a well-balanced complex if chelated minerals. Dr. Carey Reams, a respected Bio-physicist, held the view that practically all diseases were caused by a mineral deficiency and/or imbalance in the body.

Our experience in our own herd of beef cattle has been that by using FSF we have been able to stop the use of vaccines and antibiotics.

We also have abandoned the use of herbicides, pesticides and commercial fertilizers. All of the above practices have accomplished two things in our operation: 1. Healthier cattle and, 2. A financially viable enterprise.

    Abstract

Matrix solid-phase dispersion extraction was applied to the extraction of sulfadiazine, sulfamerazine, and sulfamethazine from human and animal bloods. The separation and determination of the analytes were carried out by high-performance liquid chromatography.

The effects of the types of the dispersion adsorbents and elution solvents were investigated, and the highest recovery was obtained when diatomaceous earth was used as the dispersion adsorbent, while acetone was used as the elution solvent. Under the optimal conditions, the linear range for determining the sulfonamides in blood samples was 0.020-10.0 µg/mL, and the average recoveries of the three sulfonamides were higher than 87.5%.

    Abstract
Previous studies have reported that dietary silicon (Si) intake is positively associated with bone health including bone mineral density. Although the amount of Si intake is high among trace elements in humans, how dietary Si affects bone formation at the cellular level is not well addressed.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of Si in osteoblast activity and bone mineralization. MC3T3-E1 was cultured as mature osteoblasts and treated with sodium metasilicate (0, 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 μM) as a source of Si. After 7 days of treatment, 5 and 10 μM of sodium metasilicate significantly increased intracellular alkaline phosphatase activity (p < 0.05) when compared to the control. Additionally, all doses of sodium metasilicate (1, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 μM) increased mineralized nodule formation at 14 days of differentiation as evidenced by increased Alizarin Red S staining. In the analysis of gene expression, 50 μM of sodium metasilicate upregulated type I collagen (COL-I) compared to the control group. However, the increase of COL-I gene expression as a result of treatment with 1, 10, 25, and 100 μM of sodium metasilicate did not reach statistical significance. mRNA expression of insulin-like growth factor-I and receptor activator of NF-κB ligand was not significantly changed at any dose of sodium metasilicate (0, 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 μM). In light of the results, we conclude that Si has a positive effect on bone metabolism by enhancing osteoblast mineralization activity.

Cancerous tumors are parasitic organisms, he said.

This is a study from University Research in California

note: drink plenty of water with your DE..

http://newscenter.berkeley.edu/2011/07/26/are-cancers-newly-evolved-species/ Are cancers newly evolved species?

By Robert Sanders, Media Relations | July 26, 2011
BERKELEY — Cancer patients may view their tumors as parasites taking over their bodies, but this is more than a metaphor for Peter Duesberg, a molecular and cell biology professor at the University of California, Berkeley.
Cancerous tumors are parasitic organisms, he said. Each one is a new species that, like most parasites, depends on its host for food, but otherwise operates independently and often to the detriment of its host.

A karyograph is one way to display the number of copies of each chromosome in a clone of cells from an individual or a cancer. Here, the karyograph shows the chromosomes of 20 individual cells (represented by black lines) of a normal human male. Each cell has precisely two copies of 22 chromosomes and one copy of each sex chromosome, demonstrating that human cells have a fixed and stable karyotype.

In a paper published in the July 1 issue of the journal Cell Cycle, Duesberg and UC Berkeley colleagues describe their theory that carcinogenesis – the generation of cancer – is just another form of speciation, the evolution of new species.

“Cancer is comparable to a bacterial level of complexity, but still autonomous, that is, it doesn’t depend on other cells for survival; it doesn’t follow orders like other cells in the body, and it can grow where, when and how it likes,” said Duesberg. “That’s what species are all about.”

This novel view of cancer could yield new insights into the growth and metastasis of cancer, Duesberg said, and perhaps new approaches to therapy or new drug targets.

In addition, because the disrupted chromosomes of newly evolved cancers are visible in a microscope, it may be possible to detect cancers earlier, much as today’s Pap smear relies on changes in the shapes of cervical cells as an indication of chromosomal problems that could lead to cervical cancer.

    Carcinogenesis and evolution
The idea that cancer formation is akin to the evolution of a new species is not new, with various biologists hinting at it in the late 20th century. Evolutionary biologist Julian S. Huxley wrote in 1956 that “Once the neoplastic process has crossed the threshold of autonomy, the resultant tumor can be logically regarded as a new biologic species ….”

Last year, Dr. Mark Vincent of the London Regional Cancer Program and University of Western Ontario argued in the journal Evolution that carcinogenesis and the clonal evolution of cancer cells are speciation events in the strict Darwinian sense.

The evolution of cancer “seems to be different from the evolution of a grasshopper, for instance, in part because the cancer genome is not a stable genome like that of other species. The challenging question is, what has it become?” Vincent said in an interview. “Duesberg’s argument from karyotype is different from my argument from the definition of a species, but it is consistent.”

Vincent noted that there are three known transmissible cancers, including devil facial tumor disease, a “parasitic cancer” that attacks and kills Tasmanian devils. It is transmitted from one animal to another by a whole cancer cell.

A similar parasitic cancer, canine transmissible venereal tumor, is transmitted between dogs via a single cancer cell that has a genome dating from the time when dogs were first domesticated. A third transmissible cancer was found in hamsters.
“Cancer has become a successful parasite,” Vincent said.

    Mutation theory vs. aneuploidy
Duesbeg’s arguments derive from his controversial proposal that the reigning theory of cancer – that tumors begin when a handful of mutated genes send a cell into uncontrolled growth – is wrong. He argues, instead, that carcinogenesis is initiated by a disruption of the chromosomes, which leads to duplicates, deletions, breaks and other chromosomal damage that alter the balance of tens of thousands of genes. The result is a cell with totally new traits – that is, a new phenotype.

“I think Duesberg is correct by criticizing mutation theory, which sustains a billion-dollar drug industry focused on blocking these mutations,” said Vincent, a medical oncologist. “Yet very, very few cancers have been cured by targeted drug therapy, and even if a drug helps a patient survive six or nine more months, cancer cells often find a way around it.”

Chromosomal disruption, called aneuploidy, is known to cause disease. Down syndrome, for example, is caused by a third copy of chromosome 21, one of the 23 pairs of human chromosomes. All cancer cells are aneuploid, Duesberg said, though proponents of the mutation theory of cancer argue that this is a consequence of cancer, not the cause.

Key to Duesberg’s theory is that some initial chromosomal mutation – perhaps impairing the machinery that duplicates or segregates chromosomes in preparation for cell division – screws up a cell’s chromosomes, breaking some or making extra copies of others.

Normally this would be a death sentence for a cell, but in rare cases, he said, such disrupted chromosomes might be able to divide further, perpetuating and compounding the damage. Over decades, continued cell division would produce many unviable cells as well as a few still able to divide autonomously and seed cancer.
Duesberg asserts that cancers are new species because those viable enough to continue dividing develop relatively stable chromosome patterns, called karyotypes, distinct from the chromosome pattern of their human host.

While all known organisms today have stable karyotypes, with all cells containing precisely two or four copies of each chromosome, cancers exhibit a more flexible and unpredictable karyotype, including not only intact chromosomes from the host, but also partial, truncated and mere stumps of chromosomes.

“If humans changed their karyotype – the number and arrangement of chromosomes – we would either die or be unable to mate, or in very rare cases become another species,” Duesberg said. But cancer cells just divide and make more of themselves. They don’t have to worry about reproduction, which is sensitive to chromosomal balance. In fact, as long as the genes for mitosis are still intact, a cancer cell can survive with many disrupted and unbalanced chromosomes, such as those found in an aneuploid cell, he said.

The karyotype does change as a cancer cell divides, because the chromosomes are disrupted and thus don’t copy perfectly. But the karyotype is “only flexible within a certain margin,” Duesberg said. “Within these margins it remains stable, despite its flexibility.”

    Karyographs display karyotype variability
Duesberg and his colleagues developed karyographs as a way to display the aneuploid nature of a cell’s karyotype and its stability across numerous cell cultures. Using these karyographs, he and his colleagues analyzed several cancers, clearly demonstrating that the karyotype is amazingly similar in all cells of a specific cancer line, yet totally different from the karyotypes of other cancers and even the same type of cancer from a different patient.

In contrast to normal cells, cervical cancer cells (HeLa) have flexible chromosomes. The 23 normal chromosomes have between 0 and 4 copies, while the several dozen hybrid or “marker” chromosomes have between 0 and 2. The copy numbers differ in the 20 individual HeLa cells shown, but they are nearly clonal, varying around an average clonal number.

HeLa cells are a perfect example. Perhaps the most famous cancer cell line in history, HeLa cells were obtained in 1951 from a cervical cancer that eventually killed a young black woman named Henrietta Lacks. The 60-year-old cell line derived from her cancer has a relatively stable karyotype that keeps it alive through division after division.

“Once a cell has crossed that barrier of autonomy, it’s a new species,” Duesberg said. “HeLa cells have evolved in the laboratory and are now even more stable than they probably were when they first arose.”

The individualized karyotypes of cancers resemble the distinct karyotypes of different species,, Duesberg said. While biologists have not characterized the karyotypes of most species, no two species are known that have the same number and arrangement of chromosomes, including those of, for example, gorillas and humans, who share 99 percent of their genes.

Duesberg argues that his speciation theory explains cancer’s autonomy, immortality and flexible, but relatively stable, karyotype. It also explains the long latency period between initial aneuploidization and full blown cancer, because there is such a low probability of evolving an autonomous karyotype.

“You start with a chromosomal mutation, that is, aneuploidy perhaps from X-rays or cigarettes or radiation, that destabilizes and eventually changes your karyotype or renders it non-viable,” he said. “The rare viable aneuploidies of cancers are, in effect, the karyotypes of new species.”

Duesberg hopes that the carcinogenesis-equals-speciation theory will spur new approaches to diagnosing and treating cancer. Vincent, for example, suspects that cancers are operating right at the edge of survivability, maintaining genomic flexibility while retaining the ability to divide forever. Driving them to evolve even faster, he said, “might push them over the edge.”

Duesberg’s colleagues are postdoctoral fellow Daniele Mandrioli and research associate Amanda McCormack of UC Berkeley and graduate student Joshua M. Nicholson in the Department of Biological Sciences at Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
Duesberg’s research is funded by the Abraham J. and Phyllis Katz Foundation, philanthropists Dr. Christian Fiala, Rajeev and Christine Joshi, Robert Leppo and Peter Rozsa of the Taubert Memorial Foundation, other private sources and the Forschungsfonds der Fakultät für Klinische Medizin Mannheim der Universität Heidelberg.

    Abstract
Silicon is an essential element for some lower forms of life. However, it is not generally considered an essential nutrient for mammals and the mechanisms underlying its potential essentiality remain partially unknown.

In recent years, a possible association between the aluminum and silicon levels in drinking water and Alzheimer's disease (AD) has been suggested.

It has been reported that silicon might have a protective effect for limiting oral aluminum absorption. This review is focused primarily on the potential role of silicon in preventing oral aluminum absorption and retention in mammals.

The results of a number of studies suggest that dietary silicon supplementation could be of therapeutic value for preventing chronic aluminum accumulation in the brain, and hence, be a potential therapy for AD.

However, it must be noted that controversy remains about whether aluminum accumulation in the brain is a cause or a consequence of AD. It is suggested that further investigation of this issue is warranted.

    Abstract
In recent years, a possible relation between the aluminum and silicon levels in drinking water and the risk of Alzheimer disease (AD) has been established.

It has been suggested that silicon may have a protective effect in limiting oral aluminum absorption.

The present study was undertaken to examine the influence of supplementing silicon in the diet to prevent tissue aluminum retention in rats exposed to oral aluminum.

Three groups of adult male rats were given by gavage 450 mg/kg/day of aluminum nitrate nonahydrate 5 days a week for 5 weeks. Concurrently, animals received silicon in the drinking water at 0 (positive control), 59, and 118 mg Si/L. A fourth group (-Al, - Si) was designated as a negative control group. At the end of the period of aluminum and silicon administration, urines were collected for 4 consecutive days, and the urinary aluminum levels were determined. The aluminum concentrations in the brain (various regions), liver, bone, spleen, and kidney were also measured.

For all tissues, aluminum levels were significantly lower in the groups exposed to 59 and 118 mg Si/L than in the positive control group; significant reductions in the urinary aluminum levels of the same groups were also found. The current results corroborate that silicon effectively prevents gastrointestinal aluminum absorption, which may be of concern in protecting against the neurotoxic effects of aluminum.

    Abstract

In vitro experiments showed that stem and cancer cells retained their viability on the surface of porous silicon with 10-100 nm nanostructures, but their proliferation was inhibited.
Silicon nanoparticles of 100 nm in size obtained by mechanical grinding of porous silicon films or crystal silicon plates in a concentration below 1 mg/ml in solution did not modify viability and proliferation of mouse fibroblast and human laryngeal cancer cells. Additional ultrasonic exposure of cancer cells in the presence of 1 mg/ml silicon nanoparticles added to nutrient medium led to complete destruction of cells or to the appearance of membrane defects blocking their proliferation and initiating their apoptotic death.

Based on two common coagulants-polyferric sulfate (PFS) and polyaluminum chloride (PACl), some measurements and processes in the background of Pb (II) concentration sudden increase in water were studied.

The removal efficiency of Pb(II) was compared between PAC and diatomite absorption with coagulation. The effect of coagulant dosage, initial concentration of Pb(II), pH value and KMnO4 preoxidation on coagulation were investigated. The results showed that using PFS was better than PACl for the removal of Pb(II).

The regulating pH value up to 9 could improve the removal efficiency of Pb(II) up to 95% by coagulation under the optimum dosage of coagulant PFS of 10 mg/L. KMnO4 preoxidation could improve the removal efficacy of Pb(II) by coagulation of PACl only. The Pb(II) removal efficiency of PAC and diatomite absorption with coagulation were almost equal. Pb(II) concentration could be lowered from 402 microg/L to below 10 microg/L under the condition that dosages of PAC or diatomite were 10 mg/L or 25 mg/L by using PFS.

The same effect could be got under the condition that dosages of PAC or diatomite were 20 mg/L or 50 mg/L by using PACl. KMnO4 and diatomite are dosed at the same time would weaken their function each other. Therefore, diatomite adsorption coupled with coagulation is the simplest and most effective method for removing Pb(II).

Interesting thread, have Asthma now for over 56 yrs, few episodes of Pnuemonia and residual scarring, wonder if I can get this stuff in Australia
On a side note, as a fisherman, we have herring here, cobbler that just love worms, so can take this stuff and go fishing, kill two birds with One worm so to speak lol

"E. coli are our friends: living in our intestines, they help digest our food and supply us with vitamin K. But there is an ugly strain of E. coli, that kills more than 200 people each year in the United States.

These bacteria normally reside in the intestines of cattle; they reach humans through contaminated beef - as in the case of the outbreak that killed four people in Seattle in January 1993. (The source of infection was traced to a single fast-food chain.)

The bacteria seeps through the damaged lining into the bloodstream. Kidney failute occurs within four to five days. Antibiotics are ineffective: they work by rupturing the bacteria, which only accelerate the spread of the toxin.

The University of Alberta has devised a way to stop the toxin in its tracks. They have created a decoy that holds off the toxin until the body can build up anti bodies to the bacteria, which takes about a week. Armstrong's decoys are made of sugar molecules.

Each decoy is joined to a bit of diatomaceous earth porous sand that consists of the tiny skeletons of diatoms, which are a type of plankton. When the patient drinks the gritty fluid containing the decoys, the toxin molecules bind to the decoys and are then excreted along with the indigestible (diatomaceous) sand particles.

The decoy has already been tested on healthy volunteers with no ill effects. In clinical trials now under way in Canada, it is being used to treat children infected with toxic E. coli. (Children are particularly vulnerable to the toxin, apparently because their kidney cells carry more receptors for it than do the kidney cells of adults.)

It is important to keep in mind that there are several kinds of silica. The type of silica found in Food Grade DE is Amorphous Silica. DE has been found in human studies to lower blood cholesterol levels. (Studies performed by Institute of Medical Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Innsbruck, Austria. Some Human Studies:

"In this study, a potential influence of food grade diatomaceous earth to lower blood cholesterol was investigated. During 12 weeks we monitored serum lipid concentrations in 19 healthy individuals with a history of moderate hypercholesterinemia. Individuals administered orally 250 mg. Diatomaceous earth three times daily during an 8 weeks observation period. Serum concentrations of cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglycerides levels were measured before study entry, every second week during the period of diatomaceous earth intake and 4 weeks after stop of intake.

Diatomaceous earth intake was associated with a significant reduction of serum cholesterol at any time point, reaching a minimum on week 6. Also low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglyceride levels decreased. Four weeks after intake of diatomaceous earth was stopped, serum cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglycerides still remained low and also the increase of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol became significant."

In this study a potential influence of diatomaceous earth to lower blood cholesterol was investigated. During 12 weeks we monitored serum lipid concentrations in 19 healthy individuals with a history of moderate hypercholesterolemia (9 females, 10 males, age 35-67 years).

Compared to baseline (285.8 +/- 37.5 mg/dl = 7.40 +/- 0.97 mM) diatomaceous earth was associated with a significant reduction of serum cholesterol at any time point, reaching a minimum on week 6 (248.1 mg/dl = 6.43 mM, -13.2% from baseline; p<0.001). Diatomaceous earth, a byproduct, is capable of reducing blood cholesterol and positively influencing lipid metabolism in humans. Placebo-controlled studies will be necessary to confirm our findings.
