Nitzinger was probably responsible for part of my hearing loss.

They played in the Palace theater in Fort Worth and I couldn't hear for three days.

Warning - this song has the "F" word.

I worked for a radio station in 1972 called KRLN. It was at the University of Texas. A DJ had gone on vacation to Tennessee and had come back with some moonshine. I worked the 12-6 shift so at about three in the morning the DJ asked me if there was anything I wanted him to play. I said the Fish Yell by Country Joe and the Fish from Woodstock.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think he would actually play it. He not only played it but played it twice.

I was surprised no one called up to protest, maybe not too many listeners at three in the morning but it was really cool.

For those sensitive types, there is the "F" word so they may not want to listen to this.

Live in Nashville TN, USA, The Vicious Cycle Tour 2003

He basically was the Hank Williams Sr. of Rock and Roll died at 29. Only released 6 albums in four years. Pronounced, Second Helping, Nuthing Fancy, Gimme Back My Bullets, One More From The Road and Street Survivors. Forget that crap like "WHITE DOVE". Stuff that would never be heard if the crash hadn't happened. The man AND the band has been dead for almost 40 years and yet Classic Rock Radio blasts out his songs every day. The songs of Ronnie Van Zant will out live us all...

And a little more on Van Zant:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronnie_Van_Zant

The band's national exposure began in 1973 with the release of their debut album, (Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd), which has a string of hits and fan favorites including: "I Ain't the One", "Tuesday's Gone", "Gimme Three Steps", "Simple Man," and their signature song, "Free Bird", which he later dedicated to the late Duane Allman of The Allman Brothers Band.

Parts from the movie Dirty Dancing with Hungry Eyes

    Lyrics:

I've been meaning to tell you
I've got this feelin that won't subside
I look at you and I fantasize
    You're mine tonight
Now I've got you in my sights

    CHORUS:
    With these hungry eyes
One look at you and I can't disguise
    I've got hungry eyes
I feel the magic between you and I

I want to hold you so hear me out
I want to show you what love's all about
    Darlin tonight
Now I've got you in my sights

    CHORUS

Now I've got you in my sights
    With these hungry eyes
Now did I take you by surprise
    I need you to see

This was recorded June 14:th 1951 for Holiday Records. Jackie Brenston did the original a few months earlier, but some people say this version is the first Rock & Roll record. Anyway, this must be one of Bill Haley's earliest rhythm and blues influenced recordings.
The car in the video was equipped with Rocket V-8,Hydra Matic Super Glide,Power Windows,Power Steering,Power Seat,De-Luxe Radio,Autronic Eye,Traffic Light Viewer,Rear Fender Panels and lots of other options.

A cover version by former Beatle George Harrison from his album Cloud Nine reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 1988. Produced by Harrison and former ELO member Jeff Lynne, the song was his third and last solo US number one, after "My Sweet Lord" in 1970 and "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)" in 1973. It was also the last number one single, to date, by any of the solo Beatles in the United States. As Harrison's third post-Beatles #1 hit in the U.S., he broke a three-way tie among himself, John Lennon and Ringo Starr as ex-Beatles with two #1 solo singles, and moved Harrison into second place behind Paul McCartney's nine #1 songs. Of Harrison's three number one singles in the U.S., it was the only song not written by Harrison and the only one without religious overtones. The single's B-side is "Lay His Head", written by Harrison. The 12" version of the single also adds an extended version of "Got My Mind Set On You".

Two music videos were released for the cover version. The first (directed by Gary Weis) starred a young Alexis Denisof vying for the heart of a girl in an arcade.[1] The second (also directed by Weis), is Harrison sitting and playing in a study. As the song progresses, furniture and knick-knacks (like a stuffed squirrel and mounted warthog) begin to dance along with the song. In the middle of the video, Harrison's stunt double performs a stunning backflip from his chair and follows with a dance routine before jumping back to his seat. The second received significant airplay, and was nominated for three MTV VMAs.

In the UK the single spent four weeks at number two.

"She's About a Mover" sure brings back a lot of memories. Back then, we had Sunday afternoon teen dances and Friday night dances at the park. I can remember doing the Jerk to that song.

Legislation to reduce marijuana penalties is being introduced next session in Indiana; so here's one for all of the hopefuls

The world has achieved brilliance without conscience. Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants. Wow, that was a major flashback DT! Reminds me of a gal I dated in High School back in the same era.

She was a German/Russian Amazonian blond, about 5'10", long hair, built like the proverbial brick outhouse. Quite the looker but rather shy until I learned what happened when she had That One Can of Beer. All of a sudden that atractive and shy blond would turn into your worst Drunken Pirate Nightmare. She would go beserk and every last inhibition would melt away. She would start singing, pick fights with random passer bys and attempt to mount any object ranging from barnyard animals, street poles, fire hydrants and the stray homeless guy.

After seeing that spectacle I never offered her a second can of beer. The outcome was too frightful to fully contemplate.

Anyway, her absolute favorite band on the entire planet was Badfinger. It was blaring from her room almost 24/7. Went gaga whenever it came on the car radio. For some unknown reason Elk Grove High School Illinois would have the most fantastic rock concerts. I saw Climax Blues Band, Ten Years After, Savoy Brown, Mahagony Rush and a whole host of great acts there.

Guess what? The high school was scheduling Badfinger! I got a pair of tickets and gave them GF on her birthday. She went completely nuts. I was The Man!

So off to the dance, I pick her up and am greeted by a total vision. Her lanky figure was adorned in an utra short short orange hot pants outfit with huge yellow polka dots. I never knew that a pair of legs could reach that high into the sky.

Amidst the crowd at the concert, I had the hottest babe in there.

With all of that said and done I present this Golden Memory,
