Ex-deputy director at ATF leaves agency in wake of 'Fast and Furious'

    Published August 02, 2012

    | Associated Press

WASHINGTON – The former deputy director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has left the agency following the uproar over a flawed gun-smuggling probe called Operation Fast and Furious.

William Hoover was the agency's No. 2 official from 2009 to 2011. He was reassigned last October during an ATF staff shake-up prompted by questions about Fast and Furious.

ATF spokesman Drew Wade said Hoover's last day was Tuesday.

A Republican draft report on Operation Fast and Furious by Rep. Darrell Issa of California and Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa says Hoover and four other ATF officials share much of the blame for problems in the Arizona gun-smuggling probe. It employed a risky tactic called gun-walking. Some 1,400 illicitly purchased weapons identified by the operation have not been recovered.

    "RESIGNED"??????????

I want to know why all these guys, including the Obamanation, Clintoon, Holder, and Jarrett aren't all in PRISON for conspiracy and murder of hundreds, including at least two Border agents.

I don't understand why everyone is being so POLITE about it.

I guess that the guys that are taking so much heat over Fast & Furious now wish that they'd never tried to follow the guns. The guns would have gone to Mexico and back and their reputations would still be intact. What a shame.

A quote that could ONLY come from one who is WILLFULLY ignorant of the FACTS of this case. They never had ANY plan in place to "follow" the guns, and in fact STOPPED some local police from interfering with their illegal gun-running.

If you refuse to learn the facts, you only shower yourself with poop when you post cr*p.

I predict that in return for resigning and keeping silent he will receive a well paying job with a govt contractor.
