I just dumped a Google/Verizon/Droid and picked up the Blackberry Bold 9900 by Research In Motion (RIM). Every time I look at this thing I get excited, I guess that would be thrilled, about this new Bold 9900. It's a perfect merging of the iPhone/Android technology with the toughness and durability of my old Blackberry 8520.
I wouldn't hesitate to go out in the parking lot and play football with my old Blackberry that thing was so tough. In Blackberry meetings phone companies used to actually demonstrate this by hurling one at the wall and watching it crack up into all it's parts only to snap it back together and make a call with it. Try that with an iPhone or a Droid. Check to make sure it's insured first.
I had an old Blackberry (I think 8520) when the iPhone came out with pinch zoom, better Internet functions, etc and about 3 years ago I impulsively went out and got a Google Droid.
I can't stand the Droid anymore. Every time it finds a new WiFi network it's trying to dump a back up to a Google server. I don't trust Google and their known controllers.
Every time I reboot the Droid I have to see this evil looking ominous red eyeball which is just a constant reminder we're being watched. Of course Apple has it's own "i" (Eye) phone and EyePads. Are they laughing at how stupid we are?
Here's what I found interesting. It seemed like AT&T tried to sell away from the Blackberry with comments like "they're getting so much bad press". They didn't even have one in stock. I had to wait 2 days to have one FedExed in.
All the bad press, I believe , is simply because the Canadian Company RIM is not an NSA operative and the controlled media has been making an all out assault on RIM trying to put them out of business.
I want to add more to this thread later. I have a lot to say about this new Blackberry Bold 9900.
