There will be many antichrists before the world bears witness to the lawless one. The Church teaches us that, " Before Christ's second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the "mystery of iniquity" in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, #675)

Many suspect the scenario in my opening quote from the Book of Revelation (the mark on the right hand or the forehead that will be a requirement of commerce) will be a feature of the reign of Antichrist.

How about another bible quote?

"What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun."

When the day comes in which visible allegiance to that faith, which is against Christ, is a requirement of commerce, most people will go along with it. How do I know this? Because many people are going along with it now.

The mark of the beast (public allegiance to a faith opposed to truth who is Christ) as requirement to do business is not some far off prediction of the bible, it is today's reality. It is reality in Chicago, Boston, and so on.

If you believe in the Church's teaching on traditional marriage and by saying so publicly you foreswear that secular religion (which is opposed to Christ) which demands your allegiance, in the view of many people in and out of government, you forfeit your right to do business.

If you believe in the Church's teaching on abortion and contraception and you are inconveniently still breathing, you are no longer able to run your business in a way compliant with that belief.

All in the name of tolerance, of course.Tolerance, a Christian concept, originally a guide stick meant to keep one on the true path, has now been transformed into a bludgeon meant for the head of anyone who still proclaims there is a true path.

Today's tolerance seethes. The plowshare has been beaten in to a sword by the father of all lies. With it, he will try cut off the little faith that is left.

So many people today have bought into this perverted notion of tolerance. Genuine tolerance sometimes requires you to grit your teeth. If you are baring your teeth instead, trust me, you are doing it wrong.

Many people today, just as they will be in the time of Antichrist, will happily denounce truth and cheerfully believe a lie if that is the price of doing business.

I have often wondered what it would be like in the time of Antichrist when real Christians, those who refuse the mark, are scattered and seemingly alone. How will they know each other?

Simple. They will be the ones eating a chicken sandwich without a rainbow lapel pin. [bold added]

Makes some good points. Companies that hold to christian principles will be forced to close. I expect that all transactions will be electronically managed (by law) and anyone who does not obey that "law" will be prosecuted. In order to get the electronic transactor (ET), you will need to take the mark of the beast and swear to its loyalty.

Further, I see the establishment of Obamacare as a possible alternative. When you pay into the beast system, you have endorsed it. Be ready to stop dealing with money entirely.

Christians don't follow Christ in this world today...........they follow a secural world of business and success.......

The idea of a Christian CEO or business is an oxymoron...........

Christ said to sell all you own and give it to the poor....

............but I don't see any behavior like that demonstrated in Christians today....

...especially the dominion political movement of Christianiity that directly opposes Christ's teaching of giving what belongs to God and giving what belongs to Ceasar ..........

Panther, I think you assume much, yes there are phoney Christians out there who will change sides as soon as they find being "Christian" is no longer profitable to them, but there are also devout, honest Christians, and some own businesses. Being wealthy is not a sin, Solomon was wealthy. It's difficult to be a Christian and have money, as the temptations are many, but I am sure many do it.

We live better than the kings of Jesus' day, even me, and I'm one of the most cash poor people I know. In comparison, you, too, are wealthy-have you given everything you own to the poor to follow Him? Jesus was buried in believer's tomb, a man who happened to also be rich. Yet we all 3 are/were Christians.

There were certain caveats to that, the reasons for the woman being divorced made all the difference in how she was to spend the remainder of her life, either married again or single.

I feel that many, many people including Christians are already on board with this "tolerance" dividing the true followers. While they may be a little hesitant to fully endorse gay marriage they will just sidle up to the middle pacifying excuse like they do with abortion. You know, "I personally do NOT agree with abortion but I defend the right to get one." Like that's going to fool God.

The way I'm feeling right now is I feel I am being idiologicly raped. Even if I don't own a business I can feel their pain. That type of rape spreads and is already in whole cities and now maybe endorsed by the Democratic Party. Yep....when the time gets here and not too far away, I think there'll be a little more to distinguish those who don't take the mark, swallow the Kool-aid or whatever and it'll be a little more that eating chicken without a rainbow. Interesting approach though it wa my understanding that our denial of Christ for the Mark was going to be an EXPLICIT denial, not a stealth implicit one...

But that's up to the person's interpretation of the Book.

Make what? If gaining the presence of God depends on our performance, NONE of us will make it. I put my trust 100% in the blood of the Messiah. He was the Lamb of God that covered me regardless of where I failed. Accept His gift and seek to do His will.

What gets me is that a church said that the woman caught in adultery, was told by Jesus to go and sin no more, and said that if we remarry then we didn't go and sin no more, but went right back into the sin , when staying in the second marriage while the first one is still alive. It just gets confusing to me is all.

I have to admit that when I read the title, I thought it would say something about Chick-Fil-A being the mark of the beast. Everything else has already been declared the mark of the beast, so why not a chicken sandwich?

I believe that in America, people have the Constitutional right to their own religious views. That right does not end when they start a business. SO if you don't like their religion, then tough for you. Go find your own religion or lack of religion, because you don't have any right to take someone else's away from them.

It's supposed to be CONfusing. People love to make things CONfusing so they can hide their evil in complexity.

Jesus came to earth to save us from the mess that is/was religion. He distilled everything down to two things. Love God. Love your neighbor. After he sacrificed himself we created another religion to ensnare people in confounding situations creating more guilt IMO.
