    EXCLUSIVE

The son of Sylvester Stallone has been found dead in his Hollwood home.

Sage Moonblood Stallone, 36, was found dead this afternoon at an apartment, his attorney confirmed to The New York Post

Sage’s attorney George Braunstein said Sage was found a couple hours ago in his home. He told The Post: “I have just gotten a report that he was found dead at his home.”

“He was in good spirits, and working on all kinds of projects,” said Braunstein. “He was planning on getting married. I am just devastated. He was an extremely wonderful, loving guy. This is a tragedy.”

He added he did not know if Sylvester had yet been informed but Sage’s mother Sasha Czack had been told.

A rep for the LAPD confirmed that Sage Stallone was found dead alone in his home.

"There is no suspicion of foul play or criminal activity", the rep said, adding that police went to the home for a “welfare check,” when someone couldn’t get in touch with Stallone and asked the police to investigate.

Sage made his acting debut alongside his father in 1990s Rocky V. He then moved into directing and producing.

Sylvester had been at Comic Con in San Diego this week promoting Lionsgate’s “The Expendables 2” with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dolph Lundgren.

A rep for Sly Stallone didn’t immediately comment, Lionsgate referred all questions to Sly Stallone’s camp.

More: Police confirm death of Sage Stallone, say no sign of forced entry or foul play - @Reuters

Submitted 4 mins ago from todayentertainment.today.msnbc.msn.com by editor

Sylvester Stallone's 36-year-old son found dead
By Dan Whitcomb and Steve Gorman, Reuters

LOS ANGELES -- Aspiring actor and filmmaker Sage Stallone, the son of action movie star Sylvester Stallone, was found dead on Friday at his home in Hollywood, authorities and his attorney said.

Police and a lawyer for Sage Stallone, 36, gave conflicting accounts of how he was found, but police said there was no sign of forced entry or foul play.

The case was turned over to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, Los Angeles police spokesman Lieutenant Andy Neiman said.

Neiman said police found the younger Stallone in the home while responding to a "welfare check." Attorney George Braunstein said he was found by a housekeeper.

"It's a tragedy. He was a young, talented extremely good filmmaker and a lovely person," Braunstein said.

"We don't know any of the details but it must have been some sort of tragic accident. He was full of life and working on projects," Braunstein said. "He wasn't at all depressed or anything like that."

Braunstein said he believed that Sylvester Stallone was returning to Los Angeles from the Comic Con pop culture convention in San Diego.

    Oh mi gosh--how awful.

A friend of ours' brother died on his honeymoon---from an undiagnosed heart condition. I wonder if it's something like this in this case.

Sage Stallone found dead: Autopsy planned, some details emerge
    By Christie D'Zurilla

    July 14, 2012, 12:35 p.m.

An autopsy is planned for Sage Stallone, actor Sylvester Stallone's eldest son, who may have been dead for several days before he was found Friday afternoon at his home in the Hollywood Hills.

Authorities told L.A. Now that foul play was not suspected in the death of the 36-year-old actor, writer and producer, who made his film debut opposite his father playing Rocky Balboa Jr. in "Rocky V."

Word that the younger Stallone may have been dead for a while comes via law-enforcement sources who spoke to TMZ, explaining that Sage's housekeeper had been following standing instructions not to enter his bedroom, but ultimately checked on him Friday after his mom could not get in touch with him.

"I never knew him to drink alcohol. I never saw him take drugs. I never knew of anything like that at all," his lawyer and friend George Braunstein told E! News on Saturday.

"He wasn't depressed," Braunstein told L.A. Now on Friday, noting that the cause of death was under investigation. "He was thinking about getting married. He had his whole life ahead of him."

Sage was Sly's first son with his first wife, Sasha Czack. Sylvester and Sasha, parents of two sons together, split in 1985. After a short marriage to Brigitte Nielsen, "The Expendables" star wed his current wife, Jennifer Flavin.

"Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son," a rep for the actor said in a statement to several outlets.

"His mother is devastated," Braunstein told E! News. "They're trying to sort everything out .... They may be celebs, but they're regular parents. It's tragic."

A police commander told People that reports that Sage may have died from a prescription drug overdose were premature. "It could have been a heart attack or a stroke," he said.

The autopsy will be conducted in the next few days, Ed Winter of the coroner's office said at a news conference Friday. Toxicology tests will take several weeks.

The autopsy is being performed now, but:

L.A. Coroner says it will be Officials will await toxicology results before deciding on a cause of death. The 36-year-old was found dead in his home on Friday.

    | Sunday, Jul 15, 2012 | Updated 10:50 AM PDT

An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday in the death of Sage Stallone, son of the famed "Rocky" star Sylvester Stallone.

Sage Stallone was found dead at his Hollywood Hills home Friday. But a cause of death will not be established for weeks, pending the results of toxicology tests, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Department of Coroner told NBC Los Angeles on Sunday.

"We don't know what the circumstances are around it," Sage Stallone's attorney George Braunstein told NBC Los Angeles. "He was in good health, great spirits. He was thinking of getting married, working on a lot of film projects."

Coroners officials said there were no signs of foul play or trauma and that there was no suicide note.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told the Associated Press that prescription bottles were recovered in an investigation, but he could not say what kind or how many, and whether they had a role in his death.

Braunstein said Stallone's housekeeper found him Friday afternoon and that he did not believe reports that he had overdosed were true.

    "It's a tragedy," Braunstein said.

Sylvester Stallone, who appeared upbeat and charismatic Thursday night at Comic-Con event, where he was promoting his new film "The Expendables 2," said in a statement that he was "devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son," and that his thoughts are with Sage's mother Sasha Czack.

"Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man, his loss will be felt forever," the statement added.

Sage Stallone, 36, was the oldest of Sylvester Stalone's children and had appeared in a number of films, including "Rocky V," "Daylight" and "Chaos." He also directed the 2006 short "Vic."

    He lived alone.

    Sage Stallone
    Heart Attack -- Not Drugs
    Cause of Death

    exclusive

0830_sage_stallone_gettySylvester Stallone's son, Sage Stallone, died from a heart attack ... and no drugs were found in his system ... TMZ has learned.

The L.A. County Coroner has determined Sage died from natural causes. As for why he had a heart attack, we're told there was evidence of heart disease.

A source connected with the Coroner tells TMZ ... it was "unusual" for a person Sage's age -- 36 -- to have such advanced coronary problems, but that's what killed him.

Sage's body was found July 13, but he may have been dead days earlier.

Wow! Thanks for the update Mzkitty! I am shocked. He was way to young to have heart disease but maybe he was a heavy smoker?? He was too young. They should have known by the
autopsy how long he was dead before they found him.

  24. #24
Thanks for the follow up. That might make it easier for his parents, actually; if it was drugs or suicide they will always wonder what they could have done differently to prevent it. Now they know it was just nature.

My son had a massive heart attack at 34. Luckily he had it while he was already in the hospital for something else, and he is fine now! His was caused by being diabetic. I knew a couple guys that died that young from having them.

Going to post this article form Daily Mail that was printed on July 17, 2012. In it his mother say he had 5 teeth extracted 2 weeks before he died. I wonder if maybe that had something to do with it. Although at the time, she was speculating if he had overdosed on drugs, it would be from the pain killers from his dental work.

Sage Stallone may have 'overdosed on painkillers after undergoing extensive dental surgery' says his mother Sasha Czak

Sylvester Stallone's son could have overdosed on painkillers after undergoing extensive dental surgery, according to his mother.

In her first public comments on her son Sage's death, Sasha Czak said she had begged him not to have so much dental work carried out in one day.

She said her son had five teeth extracted two weeks before he was found dead at his Hollywood home last Friday from a suspected drug overdose.

The Los Angeles coroner has confirmed pill bottles were recovered from the 36-year-old film-makers's Hollywood home.

Toxicology results are expected within four to six weeks.

Czak, Stallone's first wife, said she had warned her son about having so much dental work carried out in one sitting.

'I told him not to do that. I've heard about people dying having multiple procedures done to you mouth. Do not have more than one tooth (pulled),' she told the New York Post.

When asked if her son would be taking pain medication, she added: 'Wouldn't you be.'

Hollywood star Stallone who is said to be grief stricken by Sage’s death released an emotional statement talking about his "agonising" loss.

He said: 'When a parent loses a child there is no greater pain... This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives.

'Sage was our first child and the centre of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son's memory in full left in peace.'

Los Angeles coroner Ed Winter has denied reports that Sage was living in squalor when his body was found.

One report said he was surrounded by rubbish and cigarette butts and had become a recluse.

'Sage Stallone wasn't living in squalor. His home wasn't unordinarily messy. It seemed to be a typical male messiness. Mr. Stallone did have a housekeeper,' Winter told website Radaronline.

Although foul play is not suspected Los Angeles detectives are helping out in the investigation.

Sage’s lawyer has said he was planning to get married and was not depressed.

Except that he did not have drugs in his system when he died, it says.

As far as dental work -- I agree, do it all in stages. I had to. My son is doing that right now. Root canal a couple of weeks ago with penicillin and pain killers. Yesterday, the remainder of his fillings. He only got to this stage because he wouldn't go to the dentist for a long time. Hopefully this takes care of everything now. You can't ignore your teeth and mouth, it doesn't work that way.

P.S. -- get the white fillings, they are a bit more expensive but you don't see them.

    : sigh :

I've heard that dental heath is either a "indicator" of general physical health or alternatively that having "poor dental health" can actually cause a variety of other health issues.

Someone here probably nows more about this than I do . . .

however, since this a preparedness forum, getting any dental issues resolved seems to me to be a priority

From what I have been told, infections from bad teeth can go into your body and damage your heart. He might have had the heart attack even if he didn't have that many teeth pulled!

I figured that's what you meant. I do agree with Dinghy that bad teeth and that kind of infection CAN go to your heart or cause other complications though. The autopsy said he had heart disease so I'm wondering why given all his money he never had a complete physical that might have picked up on that in time.

We'll never know now, and sadly a beautiful young person is dead.

So when's the Revolution? God or Money? Choose.
