We don't have four more years. Either suited NWO operative will bring this country down. Neither Mitt or 'O' are the solution - holding your nose and voting for Mitt isn't a solution, the deck is stacked. The next election will not save this country from the economic catastrophe that lies ahead. Our whole electoral system needs changing, only the anointed and rich can run for office, so you owe businesses, banks and other politicians and NOT the people that elected you to represent them. Oh, I forgot businesses are people .

Oh well, I guess 4 more years of Obama would make you happen. Me, I would vote for a rock before I would allow Obama to get 4 more years.

It is my understanding that Condi Rice has publicly stated she voted for President Obama. If that is the case she is a liability to the Romney campaign. She would not be able to speak on camera or debate, without her voting record being main topic of the conversation.
au contraire! It would instead show "others" who voted for O that's you can change your mind based on performance. IMO, it would be a smart choice for the Romney campaign, and therefore will probably not happen.

Rice is not at all conservative and owns a house with a lesbian. Is Romney trying to throw the election like McCain or what? I hope there's a huge revolution at the convention. I mean HUGE.

Romney could do a lot worse than Rice. I have no problem with it at all.

LTC West is an honorable man, who served his nation honorably, saved a whole slew of his men by doing something effective, albeit politically incorrect to get a ragheaded goat humper to talk about where an ambush was waiting, and got hung out to dry by the PC Army for his efforts. While I disagree wholeheartedly with your characterization of him, if that's the perception the world has, then he's the perfect man to have with his hands on the football. Maybe if he were in the WH, the world would once again respect us...or at least fear us. Just as good.

Allan West is a complete lunatic.
It matters not what he did in the military--if ordered to nail his tongue to a 2x4 he would salute and do it.
He is just another government employee sucking off the taxpayer tit.

Also complete lunatics can do a few things correctly.
But Allan West would have us at war with everyone, everywhere all the time.
He would bankrupt this country--oh, wait! We are bankrupt right now.

    Sorry.

I find Shinmen Takezo offensive, but rather than be redundant and explain why, I'll let the more reasonable members ponder that one.

Don't you just love "snipe and run" petty remarks.
Never mind, just look at what she's wearing on top of her head in her avatar--and that smile.

Ain't gonna happen. O probably wishes he could dump Biden for Hillary, but she'd be stupid to do it. Hillary is a lot of things but stupid is not one of them. She wants to run for president in 2016 and needs to distance herself from the Obama Titanic administration. Running as O's VP is lose-lose for her. Besides, O and Hillary loathe and despise each other, and Michelle REALLY hates her. I don't think they could pretend to get along well enough to campaign together.

all this crap will go around and around and around till election time

there will be NO write-in candidate garnering more than 1% of the cast votes
there will be NO 3rd-party candidacy by RP

hence, you have a choice - go vote (even for a write-in or 3rd-party), or stay home
if you stay home, I don't understand the interest in this thread by some

"progressives" - progressively destroying America for decades.

I agree with Diamonds and Sparky. Condi did very well diplomatically during difficult times. She's likable and was quickly accepted as one of their own and thus able to get people to talk to her, and in that way reminded me of Madeline Albright. We can't discuss platforms and policy. I'd like to see this country get a little less frayed and come to peace with one another. How better than to bring a physical coalition of black/white man/woman working together to get us into some sort of recovery?

Hope he asks and hope she says yes. There is damn too little hope of any sort around this place, but if we are all working together, we might just muddle through.

the president can't do terribly much except set the tone and become a symbol to either respect or dismiss of our country's leadership. It's just too much for one person, which is why i won't go into policy and platforms here. As a symbol of national unity, they would be a great team, and our broken hearts can start to mend

I heard Keyes years ago and he is brilliant, utterly principled, a real Constitutionalist (as far as I can tell) and he would make Romney look really, really bad. The audience who heard Keyes loved him and there was a standing ovation.

Shinman, it's rude to offer me koolaid. I probably have a better picture of the big picture than most people could have from only reading their news and internet speak. I've worked at Harvard and lived on the Cape and dealt with and worked with many of the biggest names you guys only read in the paper, folks who have corporations and financial services companies named after them. So don't talk down to me. I have a very good idea what is possible within the limits of "political campaigning" and elections, and what isn't.

You have no idea what these people are really like. Realpolitik is a tough business at best and nobody goes in or comes out squeaky clean. I chose to leave that area because it was too dirty, and didn't want to participate. Thus I am a small business person in the deep outlands.

You, sir, are out of line.

I did earlier, but it might have been over at the tree on a similar thread. I've often wondered if RP wouldn't have had more steam if he would have started courting Veep candidates early on, a lot of folks I know won't vote for him because of his age, others because he's too much of a isolationist. Keyes would have been an excellent choice as veep for RP. Romney isn't smart enough to ask him.

No way Romney is going to pick Keyes. How many times has he lost to Obama? Several in Illinois and then running as Pres. No hope for Alan Keyes to go up against Obama again. I like the guy but he's not going to get asked to be VP.

Condi Rice would be a foolish choice, and I don't believe Mitt is seriously considering her.
For starters, she bears the taint of GW Bush, and would allow the First Occupado to attack Mitt as just a clone of Bush.
Second, she doesn't bring anything to the table, as in electoral votes. Marco Rubio would possibly allow Mitt to win FLA, which will give him a big leg up on winning the Presidency. Marco would also help Mitt with Hispanics, whereas Condi is not going to bring any of the black vote into the Republican fold.
He may be floating her as a trial balloon just to throw the Bamster into a tizzy, and put him on a false track. But I don't think he will actually choose her.

Alan Keyes gets my vote hands down. Yet Obama slaughtered him in Illinois. Americans want unrighteousness. Thats why we are where we are.

And at this point Im starting to get used to the idea Obama will be our Pres again. Romney lost me fully with his speech to the NAACP last week. He just HAD to reassure all that he will represent the gay rights movement.

Its one thing to be the Pres of all people. But dont go out of your way to praise the wicked as if they had some certain special rights more than anyone else.

  30. #70
Ok, I don't like either candidate. But taking Condi on as vice president would end up negating the "vote black" issue. Blacks would have to pay attention to the issues and the record, not just vote by skin color.

Even with health care as an issue, there is a large population segment that is happy with it and will vote by skin color. They won't become unhappy with it until they have to start paying for it. The GOP doesn't have a candidate that is strong enough to overcome that.

And there's another segment of the population that will be swayed by a female candidate.

Put the two together and Obama will have to work hard to get segments of the vote that he thinks he already has "in the bag".

Unless a strong independent candidate pops up we are stuck with a choice between Romney and Obama. I may not like Romney, but I don't like Obama more than I don't like Romney.
Please, come say Hi! and share your experience/knowledge. I love to learn.

As I posted ... The economy such in the tank ... I was thinking about voting for Mitt ... This guy ... even to consider Rice ... Yeah Willard conservatives love her ... NOT …. Then Willard going on the MSM to "Defend" himself ... Not going after the Bamster --- I told you guys Palin was it --- Was fully vetted --- took the MSM on & still standing ... But it is what it is not what we wish for ... So Mitt --- Obama is on the edge to being thrown out in a landside --- & mitt heading towards ... an analogy ...

IMHO … Mitt pick either T-Paw or Governor of Viginia -- McDonnell

I was addressing the statement that Condi has stated she voted for Obama in 2008. She has never done that.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Reagan

Reagan began his political career as a liberal Democrat, admirer of Franklin D. Roosevelt, and an active supporter of New Deal policies. In the early 1950s, as his relationship with Republican actress Nancy Davis grew,[58][59] he shifted to the right and, while remaining a Democrat, endorsed the presidential candidacies of Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1952 and 1956 as well as Richard Nixon in 1960.[60] The last time Reagan actively supported a Democratic candidate was in 1950 when he helped Helen Gahagan Douglas in her unsuccessful Senate campaign against Richard Nixon.

Do you have any evidence he is a Christian Imperialist? Is it some kind of organization? or just an ideology that people have to varying degrees? I assume you mean West wants the US to invade non-Christian countries and forcibly convert them? If so, I hope you have some kind of sources. Since the C.I. are just like the Taliban, does that mean they sodomize boys, hate women and use them as beasts of burden, and enjoy killing all infidels?

Why not copy and paste the article here? That's the standard on TB2, not just posting links. If the article is correct and West supports or even helped write (as it states, but no corroborating evidence) the NDAA, then that is a very bad mark on him.
