Not underwater ... came close but no cigar. We built on the highest part of the property for more than one reason (wink).

However, we were stuck and unable to get out until today ... almost got stuck twice but the Good Lord gave us a boost and I was able to drive through it with only a little slip and sliding.

Back in Tampa now but facing a couple of tons of work. I won't be posting any story tonight, my apologies; we need to get our workload all lined up. Lost a few shingles on our own roof that will have to be fixed before the next rain as well.

Glad to hear your ok. Real life comes first, so do what you need to, we understand. Be careful fixing those shingles.

Kathy, Thank you for providing what writing you can. We know you're drowning down there, so take care of business first.

Good to hear that you and yours came through the storm okay. I was wanting to ask Kathy about the brand of soap you use to make your laundry soap. You had posted it a long, long time ago, in a tree far, far away, but I lost the reference. Would you please re-post the name of the soap? Right now I use Fels Naptha, but I remember that your brand was different. TIA

Calgon or any of the old soaps that don't have scent in them. I use ivory quite a bit as well. Octagon if I can find it but it is as hard as the dickens to find anymore. Also those "bars" of laundry soap that you can use on baby clothes.

Zote is another one I have a bunch of in the closet.

    Hope this helps.

Yes it does! Octagon was the one I was trying to remember. Thank you very much!

Sending lots o' love out to my chicks. (wink) Thanks for thinking of me on this 4th as I was thinking of you all. Roofs still in progress and it seems our own home may be one of thos that has to be redone. Maybe only a repair, we'll have to see. At least it isn't leaking IN the house but on under-roof lanai. And yeah, we worked this morning but had family and friends come over this afternoon and just got back from church where we listened to some wonder patriotic music followed by an outstanding fireworks display that was put on for the community by our congregation.

    Happy 4th Y'all!

The other day when I was working around the house I kept thinking I was forgetting something that I wanted to do. Then I realized, yeah, reading the rest of this story is what I wanted to do, but I can't because there is no rest of the story yet. More please.

of there being no more MOAR!

Kaijafon you should seriously consider writing a story illustrated with your "characters". Would probably be a fun read!

so me and my cow were dancing in the afternoon sun.

when I heard a strange noise

did my cow fart, I wondered

no it was just my neighbor coming in for a landing

    he only got slightly flattened

Kaijafon, that's a great start! And nice of you to keep us entertained while we wait for Kathy's return.

Give me through the weekend y'all to get to a catch up point. This has been a rough week or so. Summer normally is rough but this one is taking the cake. And hubby is going on a father/son vacation towards the end of August so we need to get things prepped up and running smooth before then.

  29. #349

Guess I'll have to start reading the story over from the beginning whenever Kathy has time to post another chapter.... .what with oldheimers and all...

you can swing with me while we wait for MOAR, if ya want to....

I already tried clapping to make "MOAR" appear

    didn't work.

So I tied dyed myself in protest for MOAR

that just made a mess and got me laughed at

    so I thought I'd

but the neighborhood thought my cat had someone rock over her tail, she has no tail....

I've had a lack of sleep

cause it has been so long that I have nightmares that this

I know that can't be true cause Kathy would NEVER leave us forever!

So I will and patiently wait for MOAR.

and maybe take a bath while I wait

I hope that weird neighbor isn't around trying to peek in my windows

Kaijafon you have to say abbracadabra BEFORE you clap your hands.
Do you live on my street? That neighbor looks like the weirdo that just moved in across the street.
    Guy really freaks me out.
