"Is it reasonable to expect wisdom from the ignorant? Fidelity from the profligate? Assiduity and application to public business from men of a dissipated life? Is it reasonable to commit the management of public revenue to one who has wasted his own patrimony? Those, therefore, who pay no regard to religion and sobriety in the persons whom they send to the legislature of any State are guilty of the greatest absurdity and will soon pay dear for their folly." --John Witherspoon,
I tend to agree with you. If you watch his eyes during the video, he first looks confused at the type of laughter, then upset and possibly mad when he realizes that whoever gave him that line to say just set him up to make an inappropriate joke. You can't get it from the audio alone, you need to watch the video. That being said, if he didn't know what he was about to say that's the 2nd faux pas in weeks he's made by following a script instead of realizing before he said it what he was saying (the 'Polish death camps' being the other).

Whether intentional or not, it will be interesting to see what else comes out of his mouth in the coming months. I have a feeling he is going to really slip up, BIG TIME. One can only hope he does it sooner rather than later.
