    WEEKLY PREP THREAD, May 6-12

Still recovering from babysitting my honorary 2 year old niece again this weekend. Those little ones can wear you out. It also means I'm behind on laundry, as I'm just getting started on the first of 4 loads.

The two grocery store runs are planned for tomorrow and that's about it so far for the week. Will be out of town on Tuesday and have a client on Monday night, so I'll be playing catch up later in the week.

    What's everyone else up to?

We took off early Friday morning to go and get another set of bees. While down that way we also went to the Amish store. There we got 50 pound bags of oatmeal for $25. Which is a pretty good deal. We also picked up one for our friends while we were down there. Then we also bought some spices that we use a lot from there they have great prices on spices.
We also stopped at a small thrift store and got a food saver for another friend. Paid less than $5 for it. And it is a very nice one. She can hardly wait till we get that sent to her.
WE have been busy working on hauling mule poop for the garden still need 3 or 4 more loads. Have the frame work up for the big hoophouse. May get the plastic on it today when dh gets home from work. Will depend on if I get a call I am waiting for or not.
Plus we have been busy planting even more flowers for the bees.

Well, either everyone is too busy to post or nobody is doing anything

Winn Dixie had turned that bottom round steak I wanted into cubed steak (not what I wanted), so I ended up getting pork (buy1/get1 free) instead. Left some out for dinner tonight, but just vac sealed enough up for 10 dinners. A trip to Petsmart today got another 48 days of wet food for one of the dogs and 6 bags of kitty treats. I'll go on Sunday after church and pick up wet food for the other dog (coupon usage restrictions). At Best Buy I picked up 4 DVDs to add to our stash. We do watch our favorites over and over. A stop at Walmart refilled the prescriptions for 3 more months. I stay about 6 months ahead anyway, so now I'm at 9 months on most things.

Still working on doing laundry, the never ending chore, but one I don't really mind. Cleaning house is a different story. Did manage to buy a small amount of silver this week, the first in a long while.

******This Saturday is STAMP-OUT HUNGER day, so your postman should have left a bag for you to donate non-perishable items that will go to local food banks. I don't worry about "expiration" dates, but if you do, this is a great way to rotate some preps. A few cans of soup and a few cans of ravioli won't break the bank for most of us, so if you are able, please plan to give.
