As people everywhere on the planet are becoming increasingly aware of seismic activity, climate and weather, sunspots, volcanoes, and natural disasters, earth changes are emerging as an area of great concern. We need to be able to anticipate and prepare for coming events, whether they are natural or manmade, terrestrial or cosmic. While many seismic experts believe that it is impossible to be in front of these events, new methods for detecting earthquakes are proving successful. Our guest, Michael Hebert, has spent 4 years refining a series of techniques for determining the approximate location, timing, and magnitude of earthquakes before they happen.
Seismology shares unique limitations with other academic disciplines, as well as with our federal agencies. Although Michael’s new scientific discovery does not fit into the existing seismology paradigm, if refined through better technology and financial support, it will help the world to know more about earthquakes that are on the way. Join us for this unique and important segment.
