EVANSTON, Ill. — Authorities say an Indiana man died after he climbed down on a suburban Chicago elevated train track to urinate and was accidently electrocuted by the third rail.

The Cook County medical examiner ruled the death of 27-year-old Zachary McKee an accident due to electrocution.

McKee was at a Chicago Transit Authority Purple Line station in Evanston when the accident happened late Sunday. McKee was pronounced dead at Saint Francis Hospital.

Evanston police said McKee was with two other people when he climbed down onto the track to urinate. That’s when he fell onto the third rail.

Police said one of the two people ran to alert a security guard, who called police and fire officials.

He died because he FELL on the third rail, not because he was peeing on it.

I have seen real life picture of the results of doing this! During my EMT training we went to the county morgue where i had a friend that worked there. I saw a set of photos of various autopsies and one was of a man that peed on the third rail. Basically his whole groin was burnt away, ouchhh!

Everyone has the freedom to act contemptuously of anything and everything.

You can play with a rattlesnake, jump between rooftops, indiscriminately eat wild mushrooms, bungee jump with makeshift home-made gear, go cuddle a wild bear cub in the woods, play Russian roulette with one empty chamber, challenge a tornado to pick you up, play jump the car on a free way or any number of other defiant behaviors.

The CONSEQUENCES of that contempt are often IMMEDIATE, SEVERE and utterly irrelevant to any man made "law". It is not only ignorance that kills, contempt for the obviously dangerous can kill also.
