Gas prices on the move again

After holding steady at $3.69 for the last several weeks here in west central GA, the prices have jumped a dime in the past couple of days. Now that the refinery shut down in the NE is on the major cable news shows it will probably start to skyrocket from here. I firmly believe if prices stay high and go to $5/gal Bams WILL NOT be re-elected. he is already having a hard time raising money at under $4.

Went to 3.99 reg about a week ago and stuck there.

I was down in Kent, Wa. today to pick up a car over at Manheim Seattle (Ice Guy knows these auctions well) and had to get gas. So I went into the Chevron to fill up. Here's a little trickery for ya, on the big sign they have regular unleaded at $3.99 but in tee-niny print above it, it says something about for Chevron club card? members. So the real price was for $4.09.

Anyway, as I drove eastbound I-90 past North Bend, I could see the gas station signs and the Shell and I think the Chevron at the corner had $4.17 for regular unleaded posted and the Safeway gas station had regular for $4.09. Of course if your a Safeway club card holder you automatically get .03 cents off at the pump even if you don't have gas rewards built up.

But I was really shocked to see $4.17 per gallon for regular unleaded! Aaaak!

I wasn't feeling well when I had to go down to the auction but seeing those price hikes really didn't help. Thank God I have my office at home now. Thank you God for the Miracles of Today! Phew!

This summer is going to an economic H*ll for so many and of course Lake Chelan in eastern Wa. is going to be a literal ghost town we are speculating. The last two summers, the lake which is usually screaming with boat noise was eerily silent but this summer? They might as well shut the whole town down. V

About six weeks ago SE WI was at $3.29. Last week it was $3.94.

Driving around today I saw a Marathon station at $4.19.

    Unfeckenbelievable .....

If the Republicans had a lick of sense (they don't) they would be all over this 24/7.

Today our prices actually dropped from $3.86 to $3.62! All hail our Glorious Leader! He's solved the gas price problem.

Oh, wait, O was coming thru town today to look at some oil/gas fields here. That couldn't have been the reason, could it?? Naahhh, couldn't have been. Seriously, he was coming to town today. We'll see what happens tomorrow and till the end of the week.

    But what do I know?

Kajun, quickly go out and fill up every vehicle, even the riding lawn mower if you have one for the day after he leaves, the prices will skyrocket! Quickly, go to the gas station! V

kid you not, I drove in at 3.59. I was on the phone and said let me call you back because I don't like to be on the phone while pumping. Hung up, got out my bank card, out of the car and looked and the lady was putting up the NEW sigh....3.69. Can't get a break!

That is how I feel too Fish but it sure isn't going to be a pleasant experience. I just hope if we get him out that the new one doesn't start acting stupid and forgetting all the campainge promises]]

Two stations with Diesel are holding onto a deathgrip at 3.9999999999999999/gallon, been there for 3 weeks. Pump 87 had been sitting around 3.59 for the last two weeks and started popping yesterday, to 3.69 then 3.72 - found a station at 3.62 and topped both cars off (another $120 down the drain) - I'm sure next fill it will be 3.80, then 4, then 4.20...

I have found that if you need to fill up near the weekend, do it before monday morning rolls around because in the town near me, that is when the big bump in prices goes up. V

I just read and saw a video on Drudge that gas prices may have peaked! Yeah, yeah, I believe that. They were saying that some ingredient required for making some blend has gone down by .50/gal or something and that a refinery that had been down is now back up. Plus SA has agreed to pump more oil if Iran gets shut out. Why do I feel like they are peeing down my back and telling me it's rain??

As I drove in to work this morning, price was still $3.62. By 11 AM, when I took lunch break, it was back up to $3.82. Course, O was done with his visit to our town by then. Just a coincidence, I'm sure. Sheesh.

Just filled up at 3.62 a gal. BUT I noticed other stations had changed their price to 3.79. I figure the one I went to was late on the trigger.

I hate it when I'm right - 3.79-3.84 at all the stations last night, and both cars only used 1/4 tank since my last post. Diesel still at 3.99999999 though? I was figuring 4.00 by Memorial Day, better make that 4.25ish, sigh

Hit 3.95 here in MD yesterday. Vessie, have you noticed small import prices are rising again? Ex. 1999 Honda Civic w 170k sold for 2400. 5 months ago, now going for 3000, and SUVs are getting cheaper again...driving vehicles that get 18-20 mpg gets real expensive at 4$ a gallon!

  26. #26
Popped up .15 a gallon here in one weekend. Hovering around 3.75 for the last four or five days. Expect it to go higher in the next week, but hope to be pleasantly surprised.

I posted on 3/19 that gas was at $3.84 here in town. Today at the local Exxon it's $4.09, that up 25 cents more in two weeks. I put on a lot miles in my work, I buy a lot of gas, I don't know how much more of this we can stand. We just got back from Wally-World, didn't buy hardly anything and dropped a hundred bucks. God help us.

Moving up here, very quickly. After sitting around $3.73 for quite some time, it jumped $.10/day for several days a month or so back; held at $4.05 a week or so; now at $4.30. Very fast-moving for an area that grows their own, as it were!

As a side bar, we were paying around $7.00 a gallon for racing fuel last summer. I don't even want to know what it's going to cost this year...
