Excited and had to share (quilt)

I just started cutting out the quilt for my first granddaughter. CaeLynn is due in April. My son & his wife are almost as excited as grandma is. LOL

I'm also making burp cloths, curtains, and receiving blankets.

My dd is going to sew a nursing cover for her sil and knit some baby hats. And she'll likely sew a couple little outfits.

The quilt fabrics are a purple floral on a white background, lavender flannel with white dots, and purple minkee dot.

That's wonderful! Yep, babies are great. We just celebrated out oldest grandson's 2nd birthday yesterday... it's fun to see the differences between him and his 7 month old brother... they're such individual little people already.

Post pics of the quilt when you get it done!

Congratulations on your first granddaughter! I really like using minkee as the backing fabric on baby quilts. Its SO soft and the babies just seem to snuggle in. Will look forward to seeing the pics of your quilt when its finished!

I'll get a picture up of the fabrics. And yes, the back will be minkee dot.

I'm excited! Hoping to start sewing Wed (I had to soap today & tomorrow).

OK let's see if I figured out how to attach a picture from my computer...

Sorry for the delay... we soaped 4 days last week and had a goat kid... plus normal life with a farm, 2 other businesses, 8dc, and homeschooling. LOL

I sewed a light blanket & 2 burp cloths today to get in the mail tomorrow for dil's shower. The quilt will not be ready for the shower.

CaeLynn's blanket & 2 burp cloths. The background is the purple minkee dot that along with the flannel & floral make up her quilt top and the minkee is going to be the backing. We are going to bind the quilt with the floral like we did for the burp cloths.

The *puff ball* hat my daughter knit for her niece. She is finishing one without the ball to use when newborn... 100% cotton. Nice and soft for a new babe.

Nice job on the quilt! I just fell in love with the bug in the canning jar pattern...started to cut out the pieces and got bored...maybe will give it another try. Was the hat made on one of those round looms? They are fun to work with...nice colors
