Strange Sound Heard Throughout Costa Rica

Is it the mysterious sound of the so-called coming Apocalypse? Some think that the mysterious sound heard in Costa Rica at around 12:30am this morning is exactly that.
Ronny Quintero, a seismologist said the event should be studied at the exact time and location of the anomalies to determine with certainty that there was no earthquake. He added that depending on the location of those who claim they heard the rumble or ”The Hum” it is easy to dismiss the possibility of tectonic movements.

August 22, 2011. The sounds were captured by 2 hikers earlier in the day before the Colorado Earthquake. Does this have any link to the Virginia earthquake?

I was curious as to why my "bare" flagpole was vibrating like a tunning fork. I watched it, then got tired and came in the house. In a short time, checked the net. The VA quake had just happened! Went out to look, and the pole has never vibrated since. Heh,heh, It's attached to my house by the front porch, so I have been sort of using it as my EQ warning device. I wasn't close enough that day to hear the vibes.

I say from viewing some of this stuff, someone is playing a hoax. Thunder or rumbling I would understand.

I have to admit to getting the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when I heard some of what was on the videos..while some are possibly fake, there is some that are indeed real, like what was heard in Costa Rica was heard by many people and that was pretty damn recent..

I think there is a scientific explanation, something to do with the magnetosphere perhaps?

A video posted on Jan. 12 has recorded strange sounds coming from a Conklin, Alta., forest. The unidentified noise – which sounds like it came straight from a horror movie – has many viewers curious about what the sounds could be. The video has been viewed more than 300,000 times.

“Sounds like a good start to a death metal song...” said one user.

“aliens obviously” another viewer wrote.

“sounds like hell opening up” one user claimed.

A more skeptical viewer wrote, “This video is soooooooo fake people, they are just trying to get some hits on you tube!”

One possibility is a sasquatch-like creature that could live in the woods outside of Conklin. We also have to admit it sound a bit like the dragons in Skyrim

Several videos featuring unidentified sounds have been posted in the last couple of months. A user in Denmark posted one on Jan. 10, which has already been viewed by 60,000 people. Another person in Sweden claimed to be woken up by what sounds like a train (even though the user allegedly doesn’t live near any tracks).

I have been up all night, couldn't sleep so I come here to see what's going on, and end up listening to these things. Now I can't go to sleep. Outside all night the wind has been gusting, and it still is this morning. Oh boy! Our 4 dogs have stayed close to us all night, and they don't usually stay this close.

Strange how you can't really tell if the sound is coming from the sky or the earth. Several referenced the sound as coming from the sky.

@Kable..it really does I even looked up the shofar sound last night to compare....

certainly a mystery ~~ notice the announcer at the tropicana field event even says " it sounds supernatural" ....blessings T

I've heard/seen people say it reminds them of trumpets of God or doom or whatever but I'd think, with millenium ot practice, the trumpet players could do more than a string of wailing tones.

Reminds me of whales like songs of Whales or from Star Trek calling to V-ger or the aliens from War of the Worlds.

I wonder if the sounds are directional. As a dog barking or a kid screaming one can follow the sound to the origion and what is at the origion point.

Also, for some strange reason "Clover" comes to mind tho I am not sure why as I do not remember that sort of sound from the movie.

Yes bethshaya...a couple of videos have an almost "drumming' sound as well. The one from colorado has the drumming......the video from Alberta if you watch the workmen they look like they don't know whether to run or not.....blessings T

Oh gosh. Those are some spooky sounds, and yes, the shofar sound is the first thing I thought of with those. Can you imagine living in a place hearing that and not knowing what it is?

This past weekend was one of soul searching and of cleaning out the attic so to speak. One thing in particular that I was praying over, was for the Lord to speak to me, and to show me something specific... a direction that He would point me to.

Now.. I had seen a couple of these vids around November and thought they were interesting but figured it was something to do with earth changes, or mining or something to that effect... But, last week, totally unrelated I was watching some old Perry Stone videos. He's a prophetic teacher, and was talking about the Feast of Trumpets, and began explaining the Shofar trumpet blasts. There are 100 of them total. Each "blast" is actually a series of blasts, ranging in different lengths, sounds and number... but the very last blast is one long blast... CONSIDERED THE LAST TRUMP. Also significant is that the Feast of Trumpets is also referred to as the Feast of "No man knows the hour"... So when I stumbled on this video by chance this morning, it all suddenly made sense. I will try to find that video and post it with the time later if anyone is interested. Would be very interesting to research the sound from the beginning until now. As far as I know, these started right before the Feast of Trumpets last year...

I listened to some audio of the shofar being blown and it is eerily similar. I would imagine that if it were God's "trumpet", it would be bigger and have more of a bass tone to it.

Pretty interesting stuff though for sure. I also thought initially of that Cloverfield movie by the way. Don't know why. May have to go back and watch that again.

Could be onto something there Kable. Maybe there are going to be 100 of these over a period of time. The Feast of Trumpets isn't until late Sept/October as it is a fall feast.

Jesus has already fullfilled each of the Spring feasts in order, and on the exact days of each feast, so it makes sense that the next one in order is Rosh Hoshana and it is yet unfullfilled. Feast of Trumpets, then 10 days later Yom Kippur (Atonement), and then Tabernacles (God With Us). So it will go full cycle when God returns to the earth again for New Jerusalem.

This is right out of the movie "Red State." John Goodman is in the movie and it totally sucks. Anti conservative - anti faith movie.

They have these exact same sounds in the movie and John Goodman makes fun of some religious people for thinking it was trumpets from heaven.


In the movie, John Goodman is a federal agent and is doing a raid on a religious compound similar to Waco. The religious people had kidnapped gays and killed them. There is a shoot out between the religious members and the feds. The feds tell each other to take no prisoners. Then there are trumpet like noises similar to the videos above. The religious people put down their guns and come out because they think Jesus is returning. They get arrested. Turns out the neighbors were the ones playing a recording of the trumpet like sounds.

I think several things are going on:

First: it is likely that something real is going on in some places, this made a great excuse for some folks (possibly even Hollywood studios) to make some fake stuff to put up as well- which doesn't mean everything is a fake.

Second: The stuff in the High Country could be an avalanche of snow, one way to far away to see; I've never hiked that high but I've been in cars/cabins up pretty high and it is amazing how sound can travel in those mountain and how terrifying and weird such events can sound, especially when echoing against the mountains and valleys.

Third: Most likely cause of the sounds before Earthquakes are "Earthquake booms" which have been reported before Earth Quakes many times in the past (along with strange lights, rumbling, steam rising from the ground) sometimes months or even a couple of years before major quakes. Costa Rica is highly volcanic and prone to Earthquakes, the first sound made my hair stand on end (I'm a California native) and all my senses were screaming "earthquake/volcano - run!" Even if an earthquake didn't happen right then, it could still the earth "moaning" in ways we don't yet understand and is more and more often being recorded near quakes and eruptions.

Fourth: And this could work together with both numbers two and three, I put on my tin foil had for actual testing of various scaler weapons (or simply scaler technology) that has the unintended consequences of both making the sounds and possibly setting off ground movements or snow to start vibrating and rush down the mountain.

The other new issues is that while booms and strange sounds have been reported before earthquakes and simply in earthquake/volcano country for hundreds of years, it is only recently that people tend to carry phones and sound cameras around to grab and record them when they happen. So instead of the old geezer just claiming he heard terrifying booms and moaning sounds before the Great New Madrid Quakes of the 1800's, he can now pull out his cell phone or camera (even in the back country) and record it.

The problem is, you can still fake this sort of stuff too and I think some people are; I am reminded of the movie company that paid farmers to create crop circles and only came clean about after a couple of weeks. Most folks realized they were hoaxes, but it does show that studios will do things like that, but that doesn't mean some crop circles are hard to explain (others are the bored boys at the pub); just like earthquake booms are not made into hoaxes because some people put out false videos to scare people or promote movies.

They definately are an "earthly source" for the sound, but not one you would usually hear, which makes it strange.

I tend to lean this is earthquake related, either harmonics beneath the earth, or gases...something earthy is making them, but that doesn't mean they aren't due to a Godly timing.

The shoot-out is then suddenly interrupted when a mysterious loud trumpet blast echos across the sky. The remaining Coopers lower their weapons and run outside rejoicing, claiming that "the Rapture" has come upon them as the trumpet continues to play. Abin Cooper calmly approaches a stunned ATF team and confidently taunts them that God's wrath is upon the Earth. He raises his arms and stands in the face of a confused and worried Keenan in a moment of triumph, daring him to defy God as the trumpet blares.

Several days later, during a briefing before high-ranking government officials, Keenan reports that he then head-butted Cooper and took the rest of the congregation into custody. He explains that the trumpet noises were not in fact the Rapture but came from a group of marijuana farmers who lived down the road and were irritated with Cooper. As a prank they rigged up an old fire truck siren to an iPod with loud trumpet noises, unaware of the shootout taking place over the hill. Keenan is promoted despite disobeying a direct order from his superiors at the time to kill everyone at the compound. Keenan is surprised that he is not punished for his insubordinate actions but his superiors explained that their initial decision to kill the members of the congregation was mostly personal anyway and that they are satisfied with the alternative punishment of taking away the prisoners constitutional rights to due process, locking them up without ever letting them go to trial. They also laugh at the irony that Abin, who views homosexuality as an abomination, will more than likely be raped numerous times by his fellow male inmates. Keenan laments this outcome in a story he shares about a couple of hungry brawling dogs he once knew that taught him about the darker side of human nature and the way simple beliefs can turn humans into bloodthirsty animals.

Abin Cooper is finally seen pacing around his cell singing to himself until he hears "Shut the **** up!" being yelled by another prisoner (voiced by director Kevin Smith).

Original Ending

During various interactive Q&As for the film, Smith has stated that the original ending actually continued through with the trumpets signaling the Rapture. After Cooper tells Keenan to shoot him, Cooper's chest explodes, followed by the remaining family members' chests exploding one by one, and then the remaining agents' chests exploding one by one. During these deaths, the ground shakes and splits, and Keenan curls up on the ground and closes his eyes. When he opens his eyes he sees the last agent killed with a giant sword coming out of his chest, which is being wielded by an enormous armored angel. The angel looks at Keenan, puts a finger to his lips, and says "shhhhh". The angel then flies off into the sky, and as the angel banks out of the picture the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse descend.[10]

I haven't heard the sounds that you are all listening to but I am almost completely deaf. However, had to have a sonogram last week and there were three of us in the room and all of a sudden my hearing aide started screeching so loud, I was embarrased and apologized. I cannot hear anything without it but I took it off. The sonar tech said my hearing aide was reacting to the EMP's in the sonar machine???? I don't know but it was really screaming loudly. If one could have seen my face in the darkness of the room, I am sure it was red. God will let us ALL know ....at the same time when HE decides to return to bring us all home together. JMHO

The thought being....the sounds can be manipulated by someone....as to who or why....we can only guess.
