I bought a Harbor Freight Jump Pack last spring. I got it mainly to power my ham radio when I set up portable but it works better than I expected. I have jumped several cars with it.
It is not a heavy duty unit don't expect it to turn over your diesel pick-up at 20 below zero. It is ok for most light duty jumps. I used it yesterday to get a v-8 Dodge truck going after we replaced the fuel pump. My neighbor had run the battery down trying to restart it. Here is a link to see one like it. I got it for about $35.00 with a coupon.
I used it Sunday to run a two meter ham radio several hours and it had enough power to start my v-6 cutlass when I ws ready to go home. The trunk lid was open and the light was on.
Good deal, I have never used this but have used many tools from HF. I always love them until there is an issue, then I either am happy that it lasted that long... or pissed that it never worked correctly even once...
when ever I have to get out a grinder to make a 'special' tool work I hope I have saved enough money to make it worrth it...
