    Leigh,

There is...I remember it well now. Around the late 60s/early 70s. Same time frame roughly as the mass feeding book. Haven't found my copy, but know this...the latest Red Cross 1st aid manuals are WELL worth the work to get them. The latest best ways for expedient first aid, CPR, AED use, etc. I just got my ARC training finished at work and have my new cards already.

    Some good source material here...

    https://maps.redcross.org/website/We...C_Weather.html

    Their books...

    http://www.redcrossstore.org/shopper...LocationId=122

Very inexpensive when you consider you WILL save lives if you get the book and take the training....

Has this one been posted yet?

Scans of most issues of the American Survival Survival Guide from 1985 to 1992. 65 in all.

Much good info on wilderness and urban survival, as well as firearms reviews.

If you have any of the missing years/issues, please upload! This stuff is too good to let slip into oblivion.

Theses were scanned by several people, so quality varies between issues, but all are readable.

CD3WD is a great set. I've had it for year. Alex also updated the entire package last year, now 8 dvds worth...

Get 3 torrent files to use BT or utorrent to download the gigabytes of files in ISO format...

    www.survivalring.org/CD3WD-torrent-dvd-files.zip

or download the latest ISO files from Alex's website...below..READ THE INSTRUCTIONS on how to access once downloaded.

    http://cd3wd.com/download/

OK guys - the new downloads are ready to rock and roll - launched 1500 hrs GMT Thursday 9th February 2012:

http://cd3wd.com/cd3wd/disk_111.zip - encyclopedia, 3722 gutenberg novels, auto mechanics, electrical trades, income generating activities, running small business etc..

http://cd3wd.com/cd3wd/disk_112.zip - health, water, sanitation and more

http://cd3wd.com/cd3wd/disk_113.zip - metalwork, woodwork, machines and more

    http://cd3wd.com/cd3wd/disk_114.zip - agriculture - 1 of 2 disks

http://cd3wd.com/cd3wd/disk_115.zip - agriculture - 2 of 2 disks - plus all Spanish, French and Portuguese titles

http://cd3wd.com/cd3wd/disk_116.zip - wind, solar, biogas, biomass etc energy etc

http://cd3wd.com/cd3wd/disk_10017.zip - for DVD Player - an encyclopedia based on Wikipedia for Schools plus Project Gutenberg

http://cd3wd.com/cd3wd/disk_10018.zip - for DVD Player - 600 titles on Agriculture, running small business and income generating activities

note each download is 4.33 GB - we recommend use Free Download Manager to handle that. And when you have downloaded, it is important to rename each of the .zip files to .iso and then burn to DVD-R or DVD+R using ImgBurn (another really excellent free utility) or mount using a virtual DVD drive utility and copy the files to a normal file structure on your hard drive.

    Enjoy!

I'd like to recommend my Printable Flyers for Use in Disaster. These are flyers designed to be used AFTER teotwaki. The idea is to download and copy them now, when the grids are up, the copy shops are running, and then you have them to hand out later when non-prepped people are trying to figure out what to do.

    http://www.energyconservationinfo.org/printflyers.htm

These may be freely copied and distributed as long as it is for free.

See also my Compendium of Useful info, access to 2 gigabytes of sustainable/prepared living info, at http://www.energyconservationinfo.org/compendium.htm .

That 12160 link goes to a page saying the site has moved to a members only site. So I joined under a throwaway name and was taken to a page of some of the weirdest and most outlandish conspiracy theory videos I've ever seen. People who regularly go there must spend a lot of time in supermarket check out lanes.

Though it probably has some downloads that may be of use, I'm sure the same info is available elsewhere. I'm thankful that they had a button that allowed me to withdraw my application for membership.

If you have an old smart phone with WiFi capabilities, you can install medical apps and other useful apps for portability. I just tested an app called iTriage on my smart phone by putting the phone into "airplane mode" which means that it disables both wifi and cellular communications. I tested this for the reason of seeing if I can access the app's data and information contained in the app in a world with no wifi or cell connections. It worked. So if your "looting" medications from a house, launch this app and it can tell you what the medication is for. Handy if you come across a medication and don't know what it is. Same goes for survival help in the woods.

I also want to point out: according to the FCC's basic 911 rules, any phone, whether it has a carrier service or not, must be able to make 911 emergency calls. That could come in handy if you have a panic room. You can just leave an old phone (charged of course) in the panic room and not have to worry about getting help if you left your phone on the living room table.

Anywho, with the kindle you get an email address ... they assign it ... and you can send your kindle documents as an email attachment and they show up on your kindle device. I sent myself several documents in .docx format and had absolutely no trouble with images or anything else and they showed up in five minutes. Supposedly .pdfs take longer but I haven't tried one of those yet though you can also apparently get them converted to the actual kindle format. There is a 5 gig limit on personal documents but I suspect by using that program that Dennis posted about some months back you could convert on your hard drive and then upload and not have to touch the 5 gig limit.

Just thought I would pass that along as another method of backing things up for a period of time.
What program converts .pdf to Kindle format? I know that Kindle will display .pdf directly, but it can be bothersome if you have to zoom and pan to read some of them.

Well although this isn't a "printable" prep, I've always wanted a way to be able to see my surroundings using a satellite image, like Google has. Unfortunately, there aren't many options on having a vast collection of offline satellite imagery. Today I've stumbled across a way to use the Google Earth software to do just that. It requires an Internet connection tho. What you do is zoom into the particular area you want to view offline. Zoom in enough for a detailed look at the area, but not too close. Create a "Placemark" in that location. Then slowly start scrolling around the area. You will see the imagery start off blurred then become clear. What is happening is while you are connected to the Internet, it is downloading the map into the software's cache. (You can increase cache size in the options) Now to test this, close out of Google Earth and disconnect your Internet connection. Reopen Google Earth and find the placemark you created earlier. This will help you find your spot faster. Zoom in again and you will see the clear map. Now scroll into an area that you didn't before while connected online. You will see it's blurry. There you have it. An offline satellite view of your house or property for when TSHTF, you know what is in your surroundings. I hope this makes sense. If not, let me know.

What are your thoughts on this Backup Generator?

It's called, "Perfect Power" backup generator.

They say you can charge it with a solar panel, windmill turbo or plug it into a regular outlet.

Next 72 hours might be challenging! Lot of warnings have been circling. We might want to review some of our survival tips and ideals!

What's the most important thing on your list?
