Paradox will have her stories. Mine are up on blogspot. Scratchline (suspended a couple of months ago) has his around here somewhere. Grand has his stories on another forum. FOTH has the latest Einar and Liz story at blogspot. Kaijafon also has a blogspot site. Jerry Young's site was infected last time I tried to go there so I don't know the status of them.
I believe Jerry Young is at Kelee's "preparing for the future", I don't know if we can post links to other forums so I won't, but I think he has a whole section of his own there, if it's the same Jerry Young. Maybe you could read it there without being infected.
Deena, if I'm not supposed to mention other forums (TOL being an obvious exception as sister site) then please just delete my post.

    Friends.....

    Sometimes Frugal John amazes me.

I'm not terribly active as a writer anymore.

This sure isn't meant to be a Shameless self-promtion.....

But if anyone would like for me to download my fiction to here--please let me know.

It isn't in me to make haste for any reason--but Ill start moving them over, a bit at a time.

(On every other Forum, I'm "RVM45"--For some reason, I got my second choice of call-sign here.)

    No biggie.

Jerry D Young is around. I know of at least 3 or 4 Forums that feature his writing.

    Just use google.

Hell of a lot more folks know of Jerry D Young than know about Frugal John.

Could you post his reply? I would love to read it myself. Or at least the link to it.

LYoung8, I saw they deleted the thread pretty quickly. I'm getting more and more horrified at the hypocrisy they are exhibiting. They are doing the very things that they complain about the .gov doing. I wonder how many members over there realize the type of people they have running that forum and what they are likely to do in a situation where the chips really do fall? Are those really the kind of people you would want in your survival group?
Yes, we do realize, and have for some time, but the only reason we stayed was to read the excellent stories such as yours. I'm guessing too many people stayed only for that reason and this is why he is closing it. I don't know for certain but it sure seems that way.

I realized last night that if the funding is the problem, there is a super-simple solution... require a subscription to the fiction section. $5 or $10 donation once/year for access, and with the number of readers, it should easily pay for itself. Deena, if this would work here, I will definitely subscribe. People spend more than one at a shot buying a single book, CD or going to one movie.

  9. #49
Yeah, I found ya'll. I admit it. I have to have a story fix from time to time.

I'm thrilled to see many of the writers from Frugal's coming over here and YES, we want you to post your stories!!!

RVM45, I apologize for getting your username wrong at first! I've corrected it now.

Paradox and anyone else who may be interested, we are currently conducting the annual fundraiser here that funds the whole site. The suggested donation is $12 a year, but can be more or less, and we certainly don't kick anyone off for not paying. We have many kind members who pay extra so that those who can't afford it don't have to send anything in. The Paypal or mailing address are near the top of each page of the site.

Oh, and I talked with Dennis about getting a members only section for fiction for those who prefer to post their stories in a more controlled atmosphere. He's going to work on doing that soon.

Edited because I realized that I had tried the link that went directly to the fiction section, which of course, doesn't exist now.

    Deena,
What about a Gardening, food prep and preserving, prepping, recipe, cooking, dutch oven cooking, ham radio, communication, etc. section. I may have missed something here. I havent found all on the site yet. These should be in the private section.

wab54, all the forums that you asked about already exist here. Just click on the navigation link at the bottom of each page and it will give you the entire list. Or if you go to the main page, it lists most of the forums. There are some that are grouped into On Your Own, on the main page, but are broken down once you get in there - those are the Preps, Homemaking and Homesteading and such.

I know Mr. Young posts his stories over at Prepared Society. He puts them in pdf files and they can be downloaded. Pretty cool lol

I'm just happy everyone is finding homes for their writings. The blogger spots are handy.

That does not fly on my forum as most normal people believe in personal responsibility.

Takers have ruined our nation and here at Frugals we will not contribute to that mindset.

    Here is another.
If you read fiction you may have noticed that I closed the fiction forum today. I'd tried a number of ways to solve the problems this forum has caused for years to no avail. If you're looking for free fiction, use a search engine, it's all over the web.

It seems I didn't do enough to get banned. So I posted "Please "as topic and ask them to delete my account. . These people are nuts. I can understand having posting requirements but they go over the top. It should be interesting to see where that forum is in a year. Shame cause frugals has been around for a long while. LY

I want to thank all of you frugal friends for joining us. Writers: I have learned so much from your stories and certainly appreciate the long hours you have spent sharing your talent with us. Others; We can speak freely here and you certainly won't have to hide if you are Catholic either. Do try to contribute, if you can, for the maintenance of this site that Dennis, and others work so hard to keep up and running for us. We are just so thrilled that you are here with us.

As a former sheeple, unfortunately I have more to learn than I have to teach anyone. I thought I was receiving what was being freely offered and not just taking. That really, really makes me feel bad. I did make a sizable, to me, purchase from their store as a way to hopefully support their cause. Now I'm being called the equivalent of a welfare recipient?

Sycophant is right, they are well on the way to becoming a forum of boot lickers.

My guess was he didn't like whatever he read in the so-called "private" message that you tried to send me. Like I said, unknown to me at the time John reads a great many of the behind the scenes PMs that are supposed to go out to people's personal email addresses and deletes them at will.

He just posted in the police state thread and it was a complete and utter lie. He said he never deletes any post or thread because it would make him complicit blah, blah, blah. Well if he isn't doing it then it is being done in his name by Weaver and some of the other mods who I have noticed have been conspicuously silent on this matter.

Again, I'm done feeding their egos. I have not been banned yet but the good Lord only knows why at this point. I'm simply trying to capture some of the information that I've spent years posting.

Let's see, nothing posted in fiction counts for your posting totals. Actually nothing in a good many of the forum sections counts towards totals yet by his own yard stick non of us authors posted anywhere but in the fiction section ... yet I have over 4100 "countable" posts. The man has blinders on is all I can say.

Life goes on but I suspect behind the scenes his is a mess if he behaves the same way in real life as he behaves on the forum.

I've just had to turn this one over to God because there is no fixing this. What's done is done. I just pray that those that don't know yet still care, find out the truth before they too are hurt. John and Weaver are the exact opposite of the type of people I would want in a SHTF situation on my side. I'd have to worry about their tendency of shoving knives in the backs of people too much. And goodness knows they have very little graciousness when it comes to knowing how to get along with people. Such destructive behavior can't be mentally healthy.

okay... i have problems with the 'way things are'. 1. I can't get some of the GF recipes and such off Frugals now... and there was something chocolate that I wanted to try. and 2. the "On Your Own" forum here (or whatever it is) is kinda hidden under the big Timebomb forum and it's hard to see... the recipes are a sub-forum of a subforum, and it'll take some getting used to.

Paradox, if you click on the quick navigation button at the bottom of each thread, it will give you a list of all the forums and sub-forums. Then you just click on the one you want to go to.

I never post a lot anywhere, but I must say I have learned so much from all the writers I've read since 1997 when I found FS and some of the other sites... Yes, that was my main reason to 'stop' by to catch up on my favorite stories, but I contributed to other Threads that interested me... I've enjoyed being here on TB2K, and read a lot of stories before I became a member... I'm glad to see so many of the people I feel I know from reading your posts or stories and hope to see more as the days go by... TheGatherer

Some stories have been combined aand have been edited for typos and to clean up some of the language. Sales will be through Jerry's website when the CD is ready to go.
I am looking forward to that TOM.
You got me into the preparedness/ prepper lifestyle and I can always glean something new from each story the you and JDY put out.

I am also glad you guys are posting over here. It was getting bad at Frugal's and I was getting to where I didn't even post anymore. There were too many bad tempers from the ppl in charge. And like everyone else, I am looking forward to reading the fiction that is here and I hope soon to be coming. And Kathy, another friend of mine got booted from Frugals because he thought she was just posting all over the place to get her count up and she had too many posts for her time there. So, too many... or not enough.... hmm...
