Thank you so much. I'm still trying to figure out how to leave a comment on Kathy's blog. I appreciate her stories so much.

You wouldn't happen to know where alangator went after he got kicked off would you?

I don't know the reasoning behind why FS is doing this, but their loss for sure.

ah thank you! was so frustrated with FS, got rights removed to the fiction section with no explanation....

1Pe 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore of sound mind, and be sober unto prayer

Mat 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord! Lord! shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven.

Yes, thank you so much, I got removed from FS too, and I valued the forum very much. I'm kind of a quiet person and don't post a lot anywhere, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate and care about folks and their wonderful contributions.

How interesting! I didn't know about that rule. Didn't think I posted that much there, but so far haven't been removed. He doesn't count the posts in the fiction section. For some reason, John doesn't seem to approve of fiction. His loss!

I have invited Kathy to become a member here. Need to follow up with her on it.

I got kicked off of FS also because I didn't post as often as he wanted. I loved their patriot fiction!! I am so thankful for the link to Kathy's stories!!!!! Another author that I enjoyed over there is Paradox.

I got kicked out too...I guess all the money I spent in their store didn't carry much weight. I tried posting but just didn't feel very welcome and I'm not too talkative anyway so if I feel I'm imposing, I'm just not prone to say much.

Kathy put some links up on her latest story for some other writer's blogs. Two are from FS.
IMO, I don't think that the majority of the admins and mods there give being a Christian a good name. I don't see thier rules as strict as much as I see them as intolerance.
And believe me Wildwood, they don't care how much you spend in their store. They'll take everything you want to give them and not even say thank you. They're a self centered lot.

But, anyways, good luck on getting Kathy to join lol She's a busy lady. I don't know if she'd have the time to join and post! LOL

If John would bother to read some of the fiction he would see how packed with good information it is. I have enjoyed every one of Kathy's stories and have learned a ton from her, including great recipes, proper storage and about some foods I've never heard of before.

Anyone know if Paradox is posting anywhere else? I was also booted from the tree. There are still a couple authors there that I cannot find anywhere else yet. I agree, it IS their LOSS!!!! I've been bugging Scrachline to post somewhere his Clark stories including some new ones. Hopefully he will. I miss "Clark" in all "his" variety.

I just registered scrachline and Kathy tonight as members. Hopefully they will both start posting their stories.

I also sent Paradox an email last night and invited her, but haven't heard back from her yet.

I'd love to see our fiction section have even more authors to add to the great ones we do have!

So here is why no one "new" can get into the tree's fiction board:

The Patriot Fiction forum is no longer accepting new members.

    ---Frugal

this was the response from Frugal. So I was asked to let the writers know so they know that there will be no new "readers" of their stories. Frugal still has not removed my stories.

I'm going to email those whose emails I have to let them know.

Kaijafon, be sure and let people know we'd love to have them here! I don't know if John realizes how many people the fiction section brought to Frugal's. That's practically all I ever read over there. What a shame he's killing it!

To be honest, I don't think he cares. He has his agenda, and I don't know what it is ( not sure I want to know lol), but I don't think it matters to him if any "outsiders" are left on the forum.

That is really a shame. I've learned a lot over there. I don't really understand the nuts and bolts of running a forum. Does it cost them money, do they make money or do they get along on donations? I know they have the store. Is the forum set up to keep the store running? Just curious.

I know they take donations, but don't know exactly how the funding works. I've never seen it talked about there. It's "funny" because here Dennis takes a lot of grief over the funding issue, but over there you're not even allowed to ask about anything - or if you do, it's ignored and/or it disappears.

Thanks for all the support, it is tremendously appreciated. As for what is happening over at FS, you've got me. I won't criticize because I don't know what is going on behind the scenes but the change in their policy towards the intellectual propety of the authors who post on that forum does concern me. I don't want to sell my stories but they are still "my" stories if you catch my drift. I put them up for free for people to read, not for them to be held hostage.

Anyway, here I am. And thanks for the overwhelming encouragement. Y'all are just so nice ... and spicy. But I like spicy too. LOL!

I am so happy to see that Kathy, Kaijafon, etc are available to us again. I also got booted from Frugal and was a regular reader of the stories there. I noticed that some of the writers had been booted also and that was really astonishing to me.

I do not post often, but do read a lot. (quiet and shy! :>) )

Life is good now that I can continue with some of the stories.

HAPPY DANCE! HAPPY DANCE! Welcome Paradox, missed ya since I got the boot 'over there'. How about reprinting some of your old stories here like Scratchline did.

New audience - open to the entire net, AND some of us would like the chance to re-read your prior stories...I learn something new every time I re-read one.

Just a note for you all, I don't have access to that other fiction board any longer and don't even know how long I'll be on that board in general. Eh ... someone over there isn't happy obviously because a couple of us started asking questions. So if someone is looking for me contact me over here or through my blogspot stuff or my "real world" email addy if you have it.

Oh well, such is life. I'm trying to come up with something original for TB2K but I'm trying to get some of my other irons in the fire finished at the same time. I haven't forgotten and won't. Just real life interfering with some of the things I'd rather be doing.

Good grief! Well, I tell ya Kathy, you could just post what you have ( stories) started here and then finish them as you get to them. I'm sure there are lots of folks on here who haven't read them. I wouldn't worry about something new. Just finish the others like you were going to.

I can't believe they canned you! * shaking head*

wantedto add that I'm reading Rocky and Thor again lol I identify with her except *sigh*, I don't have a big ole Viking LOL!!

Why on Earth would anyone ban Kathy from Florida?

A very nice lady, who never fails to be polite.

I went over and signed up at Frugal's about 3 or 4 years ago. A rather Wet and soggy--and remarkably Saline fellow that I was having words with, challenged me to go to Frugal's and see how long it took Frugal John to ban me.

I'm almost up to 1000 posts, and I don't think John hardly knows I'm there.....

And I'm congenially unable to be tactful.....

Of course, I don't argue theology with him. Haven't saw a crying need.....

So, nobody can get their stories or finish them.

Does anyone have an off board e mail address for Freedom of The Hills? His trilogy over at Frugals is/was very good and now I'm having withdrawal symptoms with no Liz and Einar most afternoons. He needs an invite to join here. He seems to have a presence on Survivalist Boards but is waaay behind on the story over there.

LC, here is the link for the lastest FOTH Einar and Liz story:
    http://mountainrefuge-einarsaga.blogspot.com/

I sure hope he has copies of the other two stories and he is willing to post them where other people can read them. There is a lot of food for thought on living in harsh conditions and very primitive ways up high in the mountains.

Also, I no longer can email anyone from the list. Either that feature has been disabled or it has just been disabled for little ol' me. They are turning this into the big stink I never wanted it to be. Of course they've been slowly but surely dismantling the fiction section for a good while now but such is life ... and it goes on. So, if anyone needs to contact me, they can do it through here or at blogspot.

    Thanks for everyone's good wishes.

  38. #38
FOTH posts on a couple of other forums. I belong to one of them. I don't know what is going on but I read an exchan ge between a Mod and another author over there and it didn't sound very cordial. I've noticed participation is down over there too. Strange times we're living in, aren't they? Anyway I'm happy that Kathy and Paradox have joined here too.

  39. #39
Thanks Kathy. Much appreciated as are your stories as well.

I had the feeling several years ago the Frugal didn't really like the fiction section. My opinion and it's only that, is that the fiction section was really for Fleataxi and TOM. Since Flea has passed away and TOM appears to have retired from writing he feels justified in getting rid of the fiction.

Anyway thanks for the link to FOTH's writing. As I said above his stories are on Survivalist Boards but he isn't to the same point in the current one as he was on Frugal.

It was some nastiness that has been on going. Some of it was IP (intellectual property) issues and some of it was that the forum owner and a couple of the mods have made it extremely uncomfortable to outright banning some of the authors from Frugals over the last several months. For a site who claims to be very constitutionally minded many of their recent actions speak something totally different. They complain and worry about what the .gov will do or is doing to them and yet they are perpetuating those exact same acts on members of that forum.

But it is what it is. Had they simply stated up front their intentions I don't think this situation would have ever occurred. They wanted to do it via the back door and they are deleting question posts left and right as well as stopping people from being able to contact each other off list in order to control things even further.

I find it all very sad and preposterously hypocritical.
