{OT} Strange behavior of animals, internet, people?

Summerthyme told me I could copy this to the rest of you (she hurt her finger today due to strange animal behavior):

"...by the way--- the animals are ALL acting crazy, and it's been going on over a week now. The cows seem to have lost their herd instincts AND their clocks- instead of waiting at the barn to be let in for milking, we've had to go after them in the dark. They don't automatically head for the pasture when we turn them out like they have been for years- they mill around in the barnyard until we hike up to the lane and call them and lead them to where they're supposed to be.

On top of that, my normally docile (or at least well trained ) horses blew a gasket this morning when I was leading the Arab and the elderly pony out of the barn, and I'm now typing with a splinted finger, which got dislocated when it got caught in the chain. And my border collie has been my absolute SHADOW for over a week- even though the weather has been great, if I'm inside, he insists on being inside, to the extent of following me from room to room....
I have NO idea what is going on, but this isn't normal. Earthquake coming? Or something bigger? No idea! If you want to post just this last part to the group, that would be fine. Typing with the bad hand is too hard for me to retype it for them right now..."

As for us,one of our cats has apparently lost his mind for the past week or so, my clients and those I see in the City are even more insane than usual and all kinds of strange internet and computer glitches have been going on with me (not just on this board)...

Do you think it is solar activity? Something else? Something nefarious? Just wondering .... maybe relates to the wife-killing violence in NC also ...

    Good Afternoon from NY

Now that you mention it, my Max (Carin Terrier) has been yappie lately - He's normally a very quiet dog (for a terrier) we know what shhhhhhhhhhh means - This past Sunday at the dog park all the dogs seemed very snappy, I left early - Last night on our walk through the field and he walks at heel, he was like a mad man, just wanted to run - Ignored all the children on our block - As for following me around, that's just something he normally does.

People are more aggressive............I don't go out much, just to run my errands.

Came in about 60 minutes ago from bakery, and computer lit up like a christmas tree, old color bar test pattern (I don't know what they're called) very colorful.

    Anyone else

    Oh, Heck, YEAH........

Things are definately weird! Our cows are staying huddled together with their calves in the middle of the circle. Barn cats have all vanished. House cat is following me everywhere like one of the dogs. And my Corgi, who is usually my shadow, is "guarding" my children, and trying to keep them together in one room! I just realized, all the birds have disappeared! Usually we have birds all over the place, especially ravens, and there's none to be seen anywhere.

Okay, cue Rod Serling, "...the sign post up ahead, your next stop...the Twilight Zone!" Do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do! LOL!

Got to admit, I am a little spooked. What do the Eggs say?

Whose watching the eggs Must admit I frequently dial them up. Nothing special today............this morning they were pretty active but yesterday they had some "events" in my opinion.

My animals have been just plain nasty today!!!

    Nanna,

No doubt!! The only way I can describe it in my household is they "cliiinging" within a few feet of me.

Both have been darn near at arm's reach since, I'm going to guess, Sunday. No idea what brought it on, but it's almost painfully obvious to me.

Ever have a dog and a cat follow you around constantly??

Seems like once a day, I dang near step on one or the other of em when I change direction hastily. I'm a bit more aware after almost crunching one of them this week, at least they've slowed me down around the house a touch, heh, heh.

The dog's been antsy all week, growling under his breath, barking at just about any outside movement, very strange?!? Nothing, except his reaction to things, have changed in the local neighborhood.

The cat on the other hand, (who anyone with them knows, can be rather aloof), has always been warm and friendly, even coming when called But, overall, she lived her day life, we'd cross paths here and there but she'd only join me full time, for snoozing, where she parked at the end of the bed or on the chair there.

Anyway, lately she follows me almost constantly, shows me out the door, waits for me at the window when I walk up and greets me at the door. I've lived here with her for over three years and this is extremely unusual behavior based on her past personality.

    So, yepper, somethin's happening....

    Thanks, Nanna!
Michael- yep, it's been going on about a week. VERY odd that all the animals on the farm would show signs, at least in my experience.

We're on generator power right now- wild thunderstorm blew through about 3 hours ago and it hasn't been restored yet. But that doesn't usually bother the animals much at all- except for the two paranoid barn dogs who believe thunder means someone is shooting at them!, and certainly not for a week..

It could be the ongoing magnetic storm that has been happening for over a week now.

That will make em all skittish.

But remember it will also affect humans and the earth also. You can get violent storm, earthquakes ect.

It just plain messes with everything.

I will go see what I can dig up.

I went to www.maj.com and we have been having M-class flares all week. The kp value is up to a 7 right now.

I will check out spaceweather .com and see if they have any alerts going.

They said it has been extrememly active all this week. for more info go to

You all remember my post "Something is very Wrong" about 1 week ago----dealing with the undefined "floating anxiety" I was feeling? That something----and I couldn't say exactly what----AWFUL was hanging over us, waiting to be unleashed?

There, that sounds totally dramatic. But it's true, and we also have had the strange pet behavior. Our two dogs (Shepherd and Border Collie) have been very whiney for no apparent reason, crying at the door to be let in and wanting to be constantly under our feet. Our younger cat, normally a touch-me-not who hangs out by herself at the barn, has been staying close to home in the carport for most of the week.

As I said a week ago, Something is VERY Wrong.

Looks like there were a couple of quakes at Mt Hood lastnight around 16:00 PDT:

and another couple in the last hour or so!

Maybe that MAG storm is making things shift.

I can not help but wonder if our animals are not picking up on our free floating anxiety. The behavior of all my animals and pets indicates to me that they think something is amiss, but I have been really "out there" so to speak all week. It's like which came first........the chicken or the egg???

Our dog has never acted as weird as she has this week. Normally she just lays around sleeping. Starting last Sunday she barks and growls at nothing.

She does not leave our side. And slinks around like she is in trouble.

She is 11 and has been with us 24/7 since we got her 10 years ago, so it is not like we don't know her every mood.

We got so concerned that we called State Farm and added earthquake insurance to our homeowner's policy.

    Very weird.

DITTO Our dogs have been doing the same. In the middle of the night they start growling for no apparent reason. Very strange.

    Satanta....yep.

Well, I'll chime in here too.

Family member called me mid-last week...complaining about their dog. Had been barking relentlessly...driving them up a wall. One of their cats had been howling off and on through the night (quit before the dog started). Neither animal is sick...no one 'round the house as far as they can tell, both animals fixed.

My dogs have been jumpy for the last couple of days. Heck, they've started barking at US when we come in the house...or come up on them when they are being walked by the kids outside. Weird. I've also got a fixed cat that has been driving me nuts for the last day and a half that walks around the house yowling....am ready to glue his yap shut!!! Just kiddin. The rest of the cat population has been more vocal than the norm., and very clingy. I've got a couple that barely tolerate us humans...that I can't get off me!! Major wet hanky syndrome!!!! I love it (the lovey part...for as long as it'll last!! ), but it 'tis weird.

Never thought I would post to a strenge animal behavior thread but...

We have a mixed breed dachsend (sp) and whatever else. This dog begs to go outside. Yesterday (Fri.) the dog refuses to go out. We have to pick him up physically, carry him over to a spot to do his business, then he runs back inside. Very, very, very weird for this dog.
...I once was blind, but now I see.

My weimaraner has been spooky for the last month or so. She's been wanting to stay close more so than normal. Guess I should spend more time with her instead of this dreaded machine.

I can't even get out of bed without stepping over and around the obstacle course of animals......and this is after I've managed to get out from under a couple............
AND, they "ate" the wooden gate I had installed to prevent them from entering the kitchen.
    Sheesh.

It's good to know I'm not imagining the behavior I'm seeing.

My Heeler stands at the back door and whines to be let in while looking like she did something wrong...like she's in trouble. As soon as the door is shut, I can make a move as if I'm opening the door, and she is wagging her tail, whining to be let out. When she is inside the house, I can't make it to a standing position without her at my feet from anywhere in the room.

And, suddenly my independant, prowling tom-cat has become a mommas' boy. Where he used to stay missing for days on end roaming the neighborhood, he now sleeps in one of three spots on a rotating basis throughout the day, venturing out for a short break outside after the sun has set...but never for more then 2 hours at a time.
    ------

And I've been noticing how people, including myself, are acting. There is a lot more tension, irritability and anxiety going around in these parts. Not only adults, but children.

I feel very anxious. Worse, I don't know what exactly I'm anxious about, but there is no doubt that it's there.
With all of the lighting I am suddenly using at night, I dread the next electric bill...

I tried to convince myself that I was simply paraniod suddenly. I have times when I just want all of us inside of the house, safely together. I can't sleep well for fear of "something" occuring when I may not immediately be clear-headed enough to protect my children from, well...whatever.

Ladies at work being rude, sullen and snappy to each other for nothing more then the usual normal stuff, only to desolve into tears a short time later. This is weird stuff, and is seemingly affecting many at the same time.

I was really thinking that I had lost some marbles, and it is good to know that I am in good company in any case.

    I feel spooked.

But I feel much better being able to talk about it~

    Changes in animals

ElectroMagnectic impluses in the atmosphere effect animals ( beaching of whales ect). There have been alot of earth changes and electromagnectic changes due to the sun and solar activity and due to chemtrails. So dont feel alone animals all over are acting strange. Remember the 400 sheep that all ran off a cliff dont think it was wolfs to blame either.

Well, all our animals stay as close as they can, always have. Used to it.

But what I'm not used to is the rat! Usually we have rat and mice problems starting in the fall and then through the winter.

Never, in the 11 years we've been out here in the woods and farm country have I seen a large rat, residing in the house in July!

He (they) are beginning their preps. As if winter's coming. Running behind things, gathering the dog food and storing in drawers, etc.

But, to have the rat and my five dachshunds with me in the bathroom was NOT a pleasant experience.

But, I took care of that - DH was working and so I screamed and jumped up on the side of the bathtub. Realizing later that cartoons do come true .

Rats are still here and beginning their winter storing (in July)

Actually...I have noticed that lots of dogs and cats in my neighborhood have gotten kind of clingy and needy in the past two or three weeks. This extends to my own dog and cat (who has become uncharacteristically vocal lately) as well as an increasing number of strays in the area.

Are we building to something here or just being anedoctal?

This is funny. Just an hour ago at lunch I was telling my wife that our younger cat (named Junior) is constantly clinging to me (and driving me nuts!) I stumbled over him several times this morning; he just wouldn't get out of the way! The weird thing is it's not like he's playing... more like he's scared.

Our older cat, Woofer, only spends about 1 - 2 hours outside before he begs to come back in. He's usually gone for days roaming our neighborhood.

This behaviour is very odd for these two, and it's been happening for about 1 1/2 weeks now.

    FWIW!

I was thinking the same thing while reading this. We've got those beached whales, the beached squids, the beached Manatees (althought they say that is normal?), all sorts of strange things going on...

Is this magnetic storm really powerful enough to effect the entire world? Weren't the sheap somewhere in Europe, and the squids in Australia?

For the last week I've been complainging non-stop to my friend about the behavior of my 9 year old amazon parrot. She has been SO clingy. Only today has she not been as bad. Maybe the storm is over, eh? Or maybe she's finally giving up on me? hehe.
