Starting a thread on my THEORY that the MAJOR MEDIA NETWORKS are 100 percent responsible in ADMINISTERING the BASIC initial "ingredients" in the breakdown in the infrastructure of our sociopolitical systems with the purpose of inciting conflict at the very core of "self" and the interpersonal relationship in the environment of "others" creating a verile auger for the infected mind in the face of the upcoming war.

I was very aware of the intentions of of our presidents father in 1990 when he delivered his war closing statements. All I need to say is "Military Industrial Complex". Frankly..It grossed me out. Just proir to the "C E N S U S" raking it's teeth through our population there were signs suddenly popping up in the media and propaganda netwerks that were very apparently designed to "polarize"..."detangle" if you will, our "cultures" political tangle into TWO opposing factions...one side being Republican and the other side being everything else NOT republican(things revolving aroung the Bush agenda)...
Now...going back to just before the C E N S U S...TV netwerks suddenly started airing "game shows" where internal conflict and competion caused otherwise perfectly normal functioning humans to HATE EACH OTHER AND WORK AGAINST EACH OTHER to "win".

I watched my friends become ABSORBED into these rediculously insulting social propaganda games and was immedialtely aware that there was a subliminal affect taking over within my friends "personal" social groups that mirrored the conflict to a "T" that was being GENERATED by these "programs".

I began to voice my "opinion" that these game shows are preparing us for a "breakdown in society" and that these shows are "inciting conflict" where there otherwise "should be none".

Keep in mind that these shows made there inception and were first presented just prior to the "C E N S U S"...our societies first real taste of the intentions of BIG GOV to insert itself into our collective epidermis.

There were earlier symptoms of mass control/degradation but they had up until then been extremely COVERT. A good example of this would be the sudden change in human behavior within the highway systems sometime around 1989-90, in the US that , I beleive, were propogated by microwave/mass mind control technology. This "symptom" of violence and benevolence among "privilaged" automobile drivers echos the sudden onslaught of terrain dominating microwave towers.

Most people live in a fantasy world of their own creation. As first described by Sigmund Freud in his study of psychoanalysis, each person fights an internal emotional battle with his childhood caretakers, siblings, perceived enemies, and society. The building blocks of this fantasy world are powerful tools for control of a civilian population, if you have a government that knows how to use them.

Edward L. Bernays, nicknamed the Father of Spin, was the creator of modern propaganda. Bernays was Sigmund Freud's nephew, and applied Freud's work to the art of mass persuasion by blending advertising techniques with an understanding of human psychology. Bernays worked for the Committee on Public Information, otherwise known as the CPI. This government agency was created by President Woodrow Wilson in 1917 for the purpose of mustering public support for World War One.

The original propaganda campaign had three rules:

Stress emotion over logic,
Demonize the enemy, and
Promise a war that will make the world safe for democracy.
The U.S. invasion of Afghanistan has followed Bernays' playbook to the letter. We waved our flags, while the evil wife-enslaving Taliban were destroyed by the freedom loving Northern Alliance. The CPI is clearly still hard at work today. It has been given new life in the War on Terror (emotion over logic), which is intended to destroy the Evil Axis (demonize the enemy), in order to create a safe world for our children (promise democracy). One can only guess at the breadth and scope of the overall propaganda effort, but it would be no stretch to assume that it employs thousands, and costs billions.

The February issue of Vanity Fair carries a fifteen page spread of the President's cabinet. Foremost in this group are The Spin Team, who are in charge of what they call the Image Offensive. This is a new euphamism for Propaganda. The Spin Team claims that the offensive is an attempt to explain the conflict to the American people in terms of economics, diplomacy, and law. In practice, they use classic Freudian imagery of fear, hope, danger, and reward.

Employing domestic propaganda to win wars seems to be only part of a larger agenda. The Total State continually seeks to expand its power, and does so by encouraging citizens to view the government as a benevolent parent. Elected officials are presented as authority figures, rather than public servants. Through the influence of state-controlled media, we begin to view politicians as our own internalized caretakers. In other words, we grant them parental authority.

As further evidence, witness the rise of personality journalism. When reporting on government affairs, the media now excludes substantive debate. Instead, journalists depend on human interest. We watch the President give a speech, and then listen as the commentators note how strong he looked, and determined, and handsome. There is no reason to discuss the merits of his plan. Note also that the President has much more gray hair since the events of September 11. During his State of the Union, the President was strategically placed in front of a group of admiring young men. He is being groomed to serve as a patriarch, or should democracy fail completely, a Monarch.

Even the titles of our so-called leaders have changed to reflect the new order. We now have a Commander of Homeland Security, a Commander in Chief, and a Drug Czar. Authority figures, all of them.

Can't find a white judge on a tv program anymore, even X files now has a black over Mulder's boss, and in the cop programs now the head man over all the white cops is black.

In some movie posters she was depicted as the Beauty Queen in tiara. She was seen holding an American flag down the length of her leg. But it was hanging upside down. Distressed? In others, she was merely sporting her handgun. Regionally, of course. They
poll/test eveything now for what the market will "bear" in Peoria.

Ditto for the "little lost boy" as potential droid sex toy in A.I. Was never said but certainly implied, a hot fantasy for pedophiles, no?

There's still lots of good stuff on tv these days, just not on the good, old networks. As above, Junkyard Wars is great, and my young girls are getting into it with their Dad. (I see lots of time spent in the garage soon for the 3 of them.) I watch mostly history, science (love NOVA), or medical shows (ie. Trauma, Maternity Ward on TLC). I really enjoyed being able to watch a C-section on tv a few years ago. I'd had one, but opted for general anaethsetic (sp?), so I wanted to see what they did to me. Cool!

From what I've seen lately, I'd say there's about as much good stuff on my tv as there is bad. It's just that the bad is sooooooo bad.

Has anyone noticed the plethora of government produced “diversity” ads lately. They show about twenty people saying “I am American.” (Some of them sneak in the article “an,” but most ignore it.) Not only are they predominantly minority in race/ethnicity, but they are predominantly “multi-cultural” in language and dress. Usually the only white guy is portrayed as some kind of nondescript manual laborer. The abundance of these ads, and the drum-beat message says little for an American unity of any kind, and is almost hostile to “white bread” America.

The other thing I have noticed is the increasing “sexuality” of prime time shows. I don't watch the shows, but see ads for them stuck in during news hours, etc. I think the American Music Awards are coming up and the previews show women (barely) clad for S&M dancing on the stage. It was bad enough when it was on MTV and cable, but it has migrated into prime time in a big way.

I generally agree with the idea that the media is to blame for much.

The media makes terrorism possible. The terrorists rely on the media to fan minor and local incidents into global terror.

But, who would you trust to gag (censor) the media??? Who's to control the controllers?

It could be if there was only one media service it would be operated by someone with a sense of what was good (I doubt this), but as long as there are several everyone will run exactly what everyone else runs so as to not be left out. A spiral of degradation and violence.

I am proud to announce we have been TV free for 17 months now.
We watch a video now and then to see what the spin cycle is in but mostly we listen to alternative radio now.
I am not sure it would last long here. I can't even stand to listen to Hannity on the radio.

Five years ago I would talk about a New World Order, a global government, an international criminal court, a world taxation system, a pan-American union. About half the callers to my radio show didn't believe me and said that I was making it all up. Now we don't get those callers and my show is conservatively a hundred times larger. Along with a massive expansion of affiliates that cover 35 states, I also have one of the biggest Internet listening audiences out there.

Now that the show has grown, you don't hear people calling in and saying 'the UN isn't going to take over' or 'there is no international criminal court' or 'there is no plan to destroy America from within'. I got on the air with the documents year after year along with many other great broadcasters and writers and told people what was going to happen. Now they've seen it happen on the nightly news, albeit with the Globalist spin on it saying it's all a good idea and we should just accept it. People still aren't taking enough action against the agenda because they feel as though they don't have any power. Believe me, you do have power. This global plantation will not succeed unless you forget your responsibility and don't get involved.

One of the most prominent and overriding factors that threatens us is distraction.

I was doing a broadcast in which we had a lot of callers from all over the country. Several of them would call in and bring up issues that we could not prove, issues that are speculative. I don't do that. I know the overall Globalist plan, what they're putting out, what their propaganda is and what their training is for their minions, so I will communicate to you what their long-term strategic goals are. They have said that they're going to use terrorism to convince us to accept this tyranny. It's all out in the open, so all I really do is project what's going to happen in the future from the voluminous data that suggests the future itself is set in stone unless we resist it.

The Globalists have a tactic whereby they will bind with a poison pill and piggyback kooky things with real factual evidence. They have a plethora of overnight nationally syndicated talk show hosts on air all week and every weekend, television and movie scripts, which discuss thing like FEMA taking over and putting us all in camps and tyrannical world government. But then it will be followed with something like 'it's run from the South Pole by aliens' or 'it's run out of Area 51 by demons' - just incredibly ridiculous stuff. Then you have popular authors who will write about how the Federal Reserve is private and run for profit or how there is a Bilderberg group but will then go on to say 'oh, by the way, it's blood-drinking reptoid lizards from the 4th dimension, they run the whole show'. This kind of drivel is promoted and given airtime by the establishment. You can see it on shows like The X-Files - FEMA's in control, there's a secret government, but it's the aliens. So then when I get on the air and read out of UPI about FEMA's plans for mass round-ups, the average person listening has been inoculated against what I'm saying. They automatically say 'oh you mean space aliens, ha ha ha'.

CNN journalist Christiane Amanpour says the US media allowed themselves to be 'intimidated' into following the US official line in Iraq. Veteran journalist Nicholas von Hoffman takes a tougher view... Simply put,' he argues, 'the American mass media put itself at the service of the state'.

On 24 June 1876, elements of the United States Army's 7th Cavalry Division, commanded by George Armstrong Custer, engaged a group of Sioux and Cheyenne braves led by Chief Sitting Bull at Little Big Horn, Montana. The skirmish that ensued resulted in the death of Custer and all of his 250 men --twice the number of fatalities so far sustained by the United States 127 years later in its "war" with Iraq.

Like many a sight seen in the deserts through which the US military's Humvee jeeps drove this winter, the war was mostly mirage, something that evidently escaped the notice of the hundreds of correspondents sent to cover it. What one overheated television reporter compared to the Battle of the Somme was little more than what in Los Angeles they call a drive-by shooting.

It is only a mild exaggeration to say that American service personnel in Iraq were in greater danger from absent-mindedly-driven Coca-Cola trucks than from the opposing army, which had less firepower than that deployed by the police department in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Conquering by bribing people on the other side is an ancient and civilised form of warfare and if it was practised by the United States in Iraq it would explain the absence of anything that can remotely be called a battle. Evidence supporting the great non-conflict hypothesis surfaced in an article by Vago Muradian in the 19 May edition of Defense News, an arms industry publication living on the best of terms with the Pentagon brass.

The article quotes General Tommy Franks, the man who ran the alleged war, as saying, by way of an explanation for the absurdly easy American victory, "I had letters from Iraqi Generals saying, _'I now work for you.'" _Another Pentagon official told the reporter, ". . . we knew how many of these [Iraqi generals] were going to call in sick."

And finally there is this quotation: "What is the effect you want? How much does a cruise missile cost? Between US$1 and $2 million. Well, a bribe is a PGM, a much cheaper precision-guided munition; "it achieves the aim but it's bloodless and there is zero collateral damage."

The news that there was no war because the other side was paid to take a family leave day was picked up by Fred Kaplan, one of the best military journalists about, who published these good tidings on the internet in Slate magazine on 20 May - and there the story died.

CHICAGO (Reuters) - The more television children watch between the ages of 1 and 3, the greater their risk of having attention problems at age 7, U.S. researchers reported on Monday.

They found that each hour of television that preschoolers watched per day increased the risk of attention problems such as attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder, by almost 10 percent later on.

The study, published in the April issue of Pediatrics, the journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics, adds inattention to the list of harmful effects of excessive television viewing that also includes obesity and violent behavior.

Frederick Zimmerman of the University of Washington in Seattle, one of the authors, said it was impossible to say what a "safe" level of TV viewing would be for children between the ages of 1 and 3.

"Each hour has an additional risk," he said in an interview. "You might say there's no safe level since there's a small but increased risk" with each hour.

"Things are a trade-off. Some parents might want to take that risk. We didn't find a safe level in that sense."

The data from 2,500 children covered by the study found that they watched an average of 2.2 hours per day at age 1 and 3.6 hours per day at age 3. But some watched 12 hours or more.

The ages are significant because brain development continues through those years, the study said.

"This study suggests that there is a significant and important association between early exposure to television and subsequent attentional problems," said Dimitri Christakis, a physician at Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle who headed the study.

"We know from national estimates that children watch an average of two to three hours of television a day in the 1- to 3-year-old age group, and that as many as 30 percent of all children have a television in their bedroom," he said.

"There is a tremendous and growing reliance on television for a variety of reasons. However parents should be advised to limit their young child's television viewing," Christakis said.

In the United States between 3 percent and 5 percent of children are diagnosed with attention deficit disorder, which is marked by reduced ability to concentrate, difficulty in organizing and impulsive behavior. The symptoms do not typically show up until children are older, around age 7.


STUDY LIMITED


The authors said the study had some limitations.

The television viewing data came from the parents and may not be completely accurate. Also, there is no way to know whether the children already had attention problems early on that attracted them to TV viewing, though symptoms don't appear that early, it said.

It was also possible the parents who allowed excessive TV viewing were themselves distracted and neglectful, creating a household that fostered attention problems in the children. Attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder has a high heritability level, the study said.

And the study did not look at what kinds of programs the children watched.

"Despite these limitations our results have some important implications if replicated in future studies," it said. "First we (have) added inattention to the previously studied deleterious consequences of excessive television viewing ... (and) our findings suggested that preventive action can be taken."

But given that, the very recent pieces in the NY and LA Times that actually used the term "Hubbert's Peak" are all the more amazing to me. Todays NY Times piece by Yergin talks about $7 a gallon gas.

We don't watch television in the Hagan household. We have a small TV (13" screen) hooked up to a VCP and a DVD player to watch what we want to watch, but no antenna, no cable, no satellite.

all evidence to the contrary. we want stuff that isn't on and we deserve that. we'd be watching it if it was on. TV is corporate. it doesn't have to be and isn't everywhere. they answer to stockholders, not to the needs that TV CAN address. perhaps it should be mandated during the licensing process (that's our govt, btw) that a certain portion of the broadcast day be dedicated to non-commercial, quality programming on each station? how about a little community service rather than corporate service? can't. gotta make money 24/7. the govt is fine with this. god forbid some muckraker should score airtime and make people think about it.
