Sweeping Health Care Overhaul Passes the House, 220-215

The House on Saturday narrowly approved a sweeping overhaul
of the nation's health care system, handing President Obama a
hard-fought victory and advancing legislation Democrats said
could equal Social Security and Medicare as a social policy
achievement.

After a daylong clash with Republicans over a proposal that
has been a Democratic goal for years, lawmakers voted 220 to
215 to approve the $1.1 trillion, 10-year-plan that Democrats
said would provide relief to Americans struggling to buy or
hold on to health insurance in light of escalating costs and
industry practices.

Vote is 220 / 215

They are standing in front of a George Washington Painting now, giving speeches, and Nancy drooled over that ONE Lousianna REPUBLICAN VOTE for ObamaCare, as she Calls it a BiPartisan vote, and legally it now is.

Waxman said something about Prisoners, and how this Obamacare will now give them a chance to get out of jail and not face persecution upon release???
Did ANYONE catch the exact Waxman quote......In 2000 pages that NOBODY read, I am certain there is something that deals with prisoner parole and release.

:dhr:
They just murdered my country!

I have recently learned that I have a rare eye condition for which I will HAVE to have corneal transplant surgery.

Now, because of this legislation (in which they will SURELY try to restrict me from being eligible to even HAVE the surgery, because I am over 50 years old), and because my husband got laid off this week, we are having to HURRY and get the transplant done, NOW, this month, before his health insurance runs out (though Cobra could have extended it for months)--but we don't dare wait that long, because once Obamacare sets in they WILL NOT consent to an "old" lady like me having the surgery. Even though I am actively and gainfully working in education every day.

Health-care rationing, here we come!:sht:

I didn't listen to them, but maybe it says all prisoners will be released and given jobs and houses. That will make a lot of room for those who will be jailed for non-participation. The free homes and jobs will come from those who end up in jail. Fair trade for prisoner exchange program. :nja: :soap:

Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do!

Actually I prayed: Forgive them Father for doing what they are doing seeking an agenda of full power over the citizens of this Nation, and doing so with full knowledge of the outcome.

I heard a lot of the speeches back and forth this afternoon and evening as I was driving back from Matador. It is a train that cannot be stopped. What got us where we are today is that the GOP supports bidness and industry, free market capitolism. The huge insurance industry has been running rough shod over us forever, getting stronger, bolder, and more cruel all the time. Rather than deal with that while the GOP was in power, they let it go unchecked.

The leading cause of bankruptcy is due to medical expenses, so we should have figured out that things couldn't go on like that forever. But, the GOP remained silent. So the people voted for change. I believe that the Republican Party is coming back to our original precepts, but it is too little, too late. I am grateful that the anti-abortion ammendment passed.

It's not over yet. We still have a Senate vote, and that's not going to happen until after the Thanksgiving recess, possibly the first of next year.

There is still some time to raise holy hell or plan the revolution, however you decide.

Every physician in America should refuse to treat any member of congress and their families for this communist piece of shit!!! Nancy Pelosi should be drug out into the street and [self censored].

I hope every one of them die from lack of treatment.... notice I did not threaten the evil ones, just hoped that they get what they're going to cause on us!

PLEASE Remember This Next Year

VOTE NEXT ELECTION. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. Just look at the congresscritters voted, and remember all the procedural gimmicks used to stifle objection.

Also, relevant and not to take away from this thread, but C*ap and Fade is coming from this same bunch.

OK, stepping back to wait for the "there is no difference" crowd to pipe up.

ainitfunny

Saved, to glorify God.
I wish there was some way to vote OUT Norm Dicks, but I swear he has the vote count results prearranged to win every friggin election. It doesn't seem to matter how people feel about him.

Ok, I snagged the text from OtterPop's vote tallies, and did a quick HTML job on them for readability.

Something that crossed my mind when I read of this crap, was.....

If this passes further and gets made reality , will there be forced/mandatory vaccinations?

I'd imagine the answer would be a resounding YES!!!

They will force this healthcare down our throats or we will be fined and/or go to jail if we refuse.. THEN those who don't put up a fight and go with this crap, THEN they will say "oh, well to keep this govt healthcare, all your immunizations/vacs have to be up to date.. or be refused treatment untill you do.. THEN you will still go to jail/be fined for not having their "healthcare".. So no matter what they ultimately have everyone by the proverbial balls..

What do you guys/gals think?

Scary huh?

EDITED TO ADD:

WOW!!, I just noticed this EXACT line of thinking has been brought up in those places as well... So I am not alone in this line of thinking... We are SOOO DOOMED!!

I am beginning to wonder if this was their plan all along to force this swine flu vax on the population ..

I sure hope people protest this LOUDLY outside the senate when they go to officially vote this into law . It sure would be nice to see a million or so angry Americans voicing their disapproval , much like the march on D.C. over the summer .. Wouldn't that be something? Maybe if the voice of the people is loud enough they will be afraid to vote in favor of passing it , and in fear of not being able to leave the senate bulding where they are voting, if they vote "the wrong way" if you catch my drift......

Yes indeed......LOUDLY

Was watching Fox just now and just caught part of the rolling script at the bottom that said a R-Senator "Coburn" said after hearing this bill passed the House told his staff to clear his schedule for the Senate vote.

He plans to READ THE WHOLE BILL!!!!!

Added Edit: This isn't over yet!

Ok when is the Senate going to vote on this so I can get the car gassed up and ready to go? Maybe it will be passed by the Senate maybe not but I'm willing to go to DC for the second protest march of my life and put my two cents in to let my Senators know what I think of this bill. Well I might have to be a little more polite. The words I would use to express how I honestly feel about this are not fit for use in public especially if there are children in hearing distance. I want to be able to look my kids and grand kids in the eye and tell them I did all I could to save our country from these traitors.

And that right there is what makes you a prime example of what a patriot is.

I don't think these dimwits are going to get the message that WE DONT WANT THIS, unless DC is literally swamped under the weight of protesters. Protesters by the millions, Laugh now Nancy, I'm in this for the long haul. And I know I'm NOT the only one.

Now is not the time to lose heart. As hard as it is to feel optomistic (and I admit its a struggle even for me), NOW is the time to hold in our memories those who have given their lives for our freedom. NOW is the time for us, to take a minute, kick the door jamb, say a few choice four letter words, then sit back down and figure out where do we go from here. SO many died for this country and its ideals. We owe it to them, to not give up now.

Just think for a moment, how many people this past year, for the first time in their lives in many cases, have stood up, spoken up and taken their representatives to the woodshed for their stupidity.
How many went to Washington on Sept 12 as well as this past week, in fact even last NIGHT there were people outside the capitol. All of these people and those who could not make it, stood and sided with America 39 Democrats, for whatever reason, openly defied their twisted sister of a Speaker and said HELL NO Madame Nitwit, we're not going along with this travesty of Justice. Last year this would have been a slam dunk for passage instead of just barely squeaking in. WE did that, even though we lost, WE put the doubt in a lot of them.

There is hope, if we keep it in our hearts. By an accident of birth I was born in this wonderful place we call America. I OWE it. I owe it my time, my heart, my commitment to never give up on it, and I'm not stopping until my heart stops beating. By the way, the Republicans don't own this issue, there are Democrats, Independents and just plain unaffiliated who are scared to death and pissed off as to what is being done to America. NOW is the time, we all take a good look at who is out there, of whatever political party, who puts the country ahead of what some House or Senate speaker wants. They are out there, they need the support of all freedom loving Americans.

We've work to do, Thanks Nancy, you've succeeded in REALLY pissing off the chattering classes now honey. You've won a battle, its going to be a VERY LONG WAR!!

Freedom Isn't Free
This is so much bovine excrement. The so-called Blue Dogs are supposed to be covered because they needed an anti abortion amendment? What about the whole idea of a government option? What about insuring illegals? What about no tort reform? What about fining and jailing people for not getting health insurance? So all of that is okay as long as an anti abortion amendment is in there. BS.

The real patriots are fighting for us in places with names like Kabul and Baghdad because Congress cannot get their heads out of their collective butts long enough to bring them home. I just want to do my best to insure they have an America to come home to. Kozanne if you can actually agree with this Democrat then I say we have a chance to defeated this attack on our Constitution and take back our country!

There's a lot to be said for swamping the local offices. Hard to get to Washington with no money. You can bet a disruption/commotion/group gathering at satellite offices will get the attention of the royalty in Washington.

"All politics is local", after all.

I just call myself a patriot now. The D's and the R's are sorta over now, I think. I'm not sure it matters now, know what I mean?

I think what matters is that we ALL try to restore this country to its greatness and uphold the Constitution as what it is, the law of the land. It doesn't take a particular political persuasion to do that, it just takes people who love this country. Period.

We don't need more D's or more R's, we need more patriots.

Ya know.. I think the time for massive protests, strikes and shutdowns have started. Good old peaceful HUGE protests.

It works for the left, Worked for the civil rights crowd, and its going to have to work for those who wish to remain FREE from this Police-state-care bill.

We are no longer represented in government. We will be forced at gun point to buy health insurance at prices THEY set, with rules THEY will enforce, and yes, in the long run, I think they will use health care to ban guns and anything else they don't like due to "the cost to society" of said things.

The time for playing nice is over. Its time to protest and protest loudly.
