Two wounded transfered to SA-- Ft. Sam Houston, Brooke Army Med Ctr. One at the Killeen trauma center.
I am making contacts with ppl on bases here in SA - don't know if our bases/Poats are on lockdown.
All central Texas DPS troopers dispatched to Ft Hood area to block off all surrounding roads.
FBI from SA dispatched there. As are FBIs from Austin and Dallas.

If this were a terrorist attack ("We have determined that this is NOT terrorist-related" - gag) then the news feeds and websites would be turned off to keep the terroist handlers/higher-ups from getting any intel on up-to-the-moment actions on the part of those trying to stop them.

My local station out of Waco has a live feed, its only focused on the hospital. From the reports Hood is on serious lockdown right now.
EDT: Local station (10KWTX) showed a panning video of the streets of Hood. Streets are quite, aside from .mil vehicles out and about. KWTX is also advising for the surrounding residents to stay inside, one suspect on the loose.

Sen. Kay Baily Hutchinson live speaking that she has talked to the commanding General of the base who stated 7 dead, 30 wounded and the building was for processing people to return to Afghanistan and Iraq. And Sen Hutchinson made a point that these people have been deployed time and time again.

It sounds like there are multiple ops in progress, and not just at Fort Hood. So I wasn't sure if CNN had just come under attack.

hope our military and LEO and graduates and bystanders kep their cool heads and can duck and cover while the authorities wipe some @$$.
Hope somebody with a CCW takes a couple of the b@$tards and manages not to get shot by LEOs... always a threat in a situation like that.. you don't wanna be seen with a gun out... but I sure as hell wouldn't pass an oppurtunity to return fire, rather die an unsung hero than a coward worried about his carcass... Pray for the Good guys. not all of them carry badges!!

Killeen City Manager Connie Green said one shooter was still on the loose and that two others were in custody.
Republican Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison told FOX News that one of the captured shooters was wounded.
According to officials, the incident was a dual attack.
One of the shootings happened at a graduation ceremony taking place at the base when the shooting happened, Green said.
"It would be an environment that would be very susceptible to casualties or injuries," Green said.
A second attack happened at a theater on the sprawling base, according to the Associated Press.
Army personnel say they are not certain whether the shooting victims are civilians or military personnel.
The conditions of the wounded were not known.
"We’re praying that those who are injured … are not seriously injured."
The Fort Hood public affairs spokesman said the Army is setting up a special operations center to handle the response.
The official base Web site has posted a message that it is on lock down and in an emergency situation. It also urged people to stay indoors.
Nine schools on the base -- seven elementary and two middle -- are included in the lock down.
