FL sent a $1500 check in for overnight by U.S. postal service. Check did not arrive, I got her the tracking number this morning and she just called from there *very* upset because the post office does not know where it is.

We *really* needed that to be in the bank today and now she has to drive home 45 minutes in this frelling weather.

Needless to say I am worried on all accounts.

They better figure out where it is ... their tracking number after all. Put the post office on notice and tell them you are going to go as high as it takes and then they will be the ones paying for the fall out and damages for lost or stolen mail.

That would be fine-stressful yes but it not having a departure scan or anything else since last night is distubing.

That sucks Sat... I hope it's found soon and gets where it needs to be going. You guys sure don't need to be dealing with this nonsense.

I hate it when others incompetence interferes with people's lives...in my neck of the woods, I get at least 2 letters a week that don't belong to me. I guess that makes a pretty good case that I don't always get my mail. I stopped the mail lady the other day and handed her 2 pieces of mail and told her that I didn't appreciate having to redistribute her mail every week....needless to say, she didn't like it.:shr:

Prayers!!! I get the wrong mail all the time, I had to return a huge manilla envelope yesterday that was mailed to a town about 80 miles south of me, different name, different town-same box number. Really? I wrote in HUGE black letters across the front "Wrong Town!!!". Our PO is so bad that they have a special drop box for all the wrong mail they dish out. I've got personal medical files, checks for government entities, all sorts of stuff, I finally had to read the front of the envelope before I opened my mail to make sure it was mine.

Apparently the Civil Servant test doesn't have a section for spelling or word comprehension.

Prayers for you and yours Santana! KathyInFla gave sound
advice. Hopefully just a day or two delayed. USPS tracking.
We're all too dependent on FRN's and a PO in fiscal difficulty.
Confident you'll get it or order "cancel" & request reissuance
via Fed Ex overnight or UPS Blue. Been there.

Sorry about the lost mail. However, NEVER, NEVER use USPS for overnight - it really isn't guaranteed and easily lost. Pay the extra and use UPS or FEDEX.

I did tell the boy on the phone I think since the check was going to a bank and since it involved the post office it might fall under federal law if the check was stolen.

I'll be watching tonight and tomorrow and break out the mean 'ol white bear with the idiots at the po who told her it 'wasn't their problem'.

When you talk to them again tell them (and do) call the OIG office. Had a friend here that had some BS with his mail carrier and that seemed to get them off their "oh that's so funny" mode and into action mode. Prayers for you both! FL did get home okay didn't she? Love to you both!
