This board is now using vBulletin software, some of the most advanced on the market. Many options that were unavailable to you on other board software are now fully configurable by YOU. These options include:
- Pop up an "alert box" when you get a Private Message
- Get an Email notification of replies on threads you've posted to, by default (NOTE: this is currently YES for EVERYONE!)
- Allow/disallow the viewing of OTHER users' SIG-lines in their posts.
- Allow/disallow the viewing of OTHER users' "Avatars" (personal pics)
- Allow/disallow IMAGES to be viewed in threads (if "off", all you see is a LINK to the graphic)
- "View posts for last XX days"
- How many replies to see per page
- Time offset (your time zone). The posts will show up adjusted for YOUR time zone.
- Enable vB-codes (like UBB codes, but better) in your posts
How to modify your personal settings
There is a blue button at the top of every forum page: Click that button, and you will enter your "Command Post". The following options are available:
- Your "buddy" list
- A list of new Private Messages you've received
- Subscribed forums (You get an email notice every time a person posts ANYTHING to that FORUM)
- Subscribed threads (You get an email notice every time a person posts a REPLY to that THREAD)
EDIT PROFILE allows you to change things like:
- Your email address
- Personal signature ("SIG-line")
- A URL to your own web page (if you have one)
- Your birthdate (which appears on the board CALENDAR)
- A "custom title" (if you don't like "MEMBER" - or whatever)
- Personal info such as your bio, location, and interests
All of that information is available to other members by clicking on your "Profile" button.
EDIT OPTIONS allows you to fully customize the appearance of the board, to suit your individual taste:
- Invisible mode
- Auto-login when you return to TB2K (uses cookies)
- Browse board without cookies
- Allow staff to send you emails (PLEASE set this to "YES")
- Use EMAIL notification by default (PLEASE set this to "NO", unless you use that function regularly)
- Send an email notice when you get a Private Message
- Pop up an alert box when you get a Private Message
- Show Users' SIG-lines in their posts
- Show Users' Avatars (personal pics - not turned on yet) in their posts
- Show image attachments and IMG's in posts (NO will show LINKS rather than graphics)
- Default thread view (in days)
- Start of the week
- Time zone offset
- Use vB code "quick links" in your posts (shows the FONT/COLOR/etc boxes in your post screen)
- Avatar (personal pic - not turned on yet)

EDIT BUDDY LIST / EDIT IGNORE LIST - Below is a short explanation from the FAQ screen:
The buddy list is used to keep track of the friends you have made on this board. By going to your "My vB Home", you'll be able to see which of your friends are currently online, and be able to send them a private message. Adding people to your buddy list also allows you to send private messages to multiple board members at the same time. You may add any member of this board to your buddy list by clicking this button in a member's posts.
Ignore lists are used for those people who's messages you wish not to read. By adding someone to your ignore list, those messages posted by these individuals will be hidden when you read a thread.
PRIVATE MESSAGING takes you to your "TB2K post office", where you can send other members emails while KEEPING YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS PRIVATE. You have a complete mailbox there, with an "Inbox" and a "Sent Messages" box. You can also request a "Read Receipt" on every Private Message you send, as well as include graphics and your SIG-line.
These features combine to allow you total control over how you see and interact with our board.
LOGIN note:
The only place available (at the moment) to LOG IN is at the bottom of the MAIN PAGE, which is accessible by going to: THIS LINK, and going to the VERY BOTTOM of that page, on the right.
